Took my 12 yr old dog here today. The entire staff was kind and seem happy to work there. Everyone is pleasant and the doctor made the impression she has time. Didn't seem like a rushed place where they are pressured to meet a patient quota. People there like animals (and the owners) Couldn't ask for anything more- very nice doctor who provided much information. It's a bit out there on 290 West but well worth the drive- these are the kind of places I want to support! Thank you!

The staff & Doctors at Austin Veterinary Diagnostic Hospital are the best !!! Their caring loving attitude makes you feel like you have found the help you need for your pet. We recently needed to have some tests done for our cat that our vet did not have available & we went to this clinic because we had been there in the past when we needed tests done. We would use this clinic all the time but it is almost 30 miles from our home but when we need a specialist to help us this is always where we go. We are very grateful for their expertise & caring help !!!!

Best veterinarian practice I've ever experienced. When I moved to Austin, one of my first priorities was to find veterinary care for my Peaches. Admittedly, I looked into AVDH first because it was just a few miles down the road from me. I had no idea how lucky I was to have found such five-star care. There is nothing I don't love about this place. I'm super bummed Dr Donop is no longer there, as he is usually who we see but Dr Varga has also seen her and both are masters at what they do. Every single person, doctors, techs, and office staff, make that place so special. Cannot recommend AVDH enough.

Dr. Donop had been our doctor and with him retiring, Dr. Sarah is now helping us with our 14 year old that was just diagnosed with a heart murmur. No matter the doctor, the staff and the doctors all have been great. Friendly, involved and relatable. All down to earth and amazing knowledge and care. This is a place filled with happy employees and an overall great vibe. If you need more advanced care this is the place. I'm sure there's other care available too, but we go for specialty reasons. You can't go wrong. Highly recommend.

I just saw a sign outside the business that Dr. Donop is leaving. I will ***NEVER*** forget the day that he overdosed my cat by injecting her with Baytril for CATTLE which permanently detached her retinas - leaving her blind for the rest of her life. To add insult to injury, she ended up passing away at a later date due to a sarcoma at the injection site. He paid more detail to his new land cruiser than his patients. It's been almost 20 years, but to me it feels like yesterday.

They do an amazing job and my babies get a thorough checkup! They are loving and kind and I wouldn’t take my babies anywhere else.

Twenty year client. Will not be returning. After spending $10,000 in a few months, when my dog was having seizures due to a prescribed medication I couldn't talk to the doctor, I was treated like an idiot. I showed another vet the video on my phone and yes the dog was having a seizure. There is much more that I can say, I am extremely disappointed with the level of care and attitude shown to older animals.

This was by far the best vet care I have experienced from setting up the appointment over the phone and checking out. I called 4 vet clinics/hospitals because my cat had been throwing up the last 4 days but the day I called was pretty bad..so I was worried. Each clinic I got.. the calls were super uncomfortable and most times I was being rushed off. Jannah answered the phone and she is absolutely welcoming and you can tell she truly cares about your pet getting cared for. She

Each clinic I got.. the calls were super uncomfortable and most times I was being rushed off. Jannah answered the phone and she is absolutely welcoming and you can tell she truly cares about your pet getting cared for. She got me a same day appointment and got my records transferred over for me. Checking in was quick and they took Shadow right in! Dr. Varga was super helpful and answered any questions I had. It was hard to not be in the room with your pet to see if they are okay. But he was very informative about letting me know what was going on and reassuring me that Shadow was just fine and being a "cool cat." His tech Dylan, was also answering my questions and went into detail about what tests they were doing and WHY (the most important part) they were doing they tests needed. Affordable pricing for tests! Great Staff! Great location! Highly recommend to take care of your fur babies!

Austin Veterinary Diagnostic Hospital was able to take us in the day of when everyone else was booked due to COVID-19 regulations. It was a drive, and well worth it! Our pup had eaten something off the ground that upset his stomach, they did an x-ray and other tests, which came out to half the price it would've been at an emergency hospital. They were friendly and took no more than 30 minutes with our fur baby; we made a quick stop at Juiceland nearby and came back just in time. This is a great choice vet for your fur babies and your wallet. They really care for your animals, when we come back to Austin this will be our go-to vet!

I just want to say...AVDH is truly the best. I miss them already. My pup Pepper practically spent a good part of her childhood coming here to see Dr. Varga and the crew. As a student, I try to keep my pup expenses at the minimum...so I usually went to Thrive for basic check-ups and Emancipet for a low-cost spay. After her spay surgery, Pepp ended up with incontinence. It's pretty low chances, and lucky Pepp got the short end of the stick. AVDH definitely has more tools, resources and knowledge, so I chose to continue with them for her treatment. Dr. Varga was a lifesaver. He was so kind, informative and calm. He was willing to answer my barrage of questions as a new dog mom and never once brushed me off or spoke to me in an unprofessional manner. That's a quality vet right there! I also loved the entire front desk team. In particular, Mikayla was the gal I most likely spoke to on the phone...especially as COVID-19 times hit. Thank you girl for being so warm, loving and patient. The entire front desk team deserves a huge round of applause for all that they do PLUS doing it with a smile. Most of us dog parents who come in are anxious, stressed or worried for our furry friends, so y'all are truly amazing individuals. They also have a cute waiting room and a full bin of tennis balls, all before COVID times hit. When you're driving on 290 to head into this space, don't forget to slow down or you'll miss the entrance. There's a dog entrance and a cat entrance, which is pretty adorable. This is truly the most team-oriented clinic I've experience in Austin.

I've been coming to AVDH since 2016 - they were able to diagnose my dog with IBD (after 6 years of other vets not knowing why he was sick), and when Oliver developed masses on his spleen and anus, Dr. Sarah thoroughly explained the diagnosis and treatment options. I was even able to stay with my dog from surgery prep through waking up in recovery, which made us both feel better! I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Sarah and AVDH. Won't take my dog anywhere else for illness or injury!

I have gone to this vet for a year and a half and they helped me treat my beautiful Husky who had seizures. It has been rough but they made it easier. Luna passed away a few weeks ago due to cluster seizures even though she was barely two years old. The people at AVDH were compassionate, caring and very helpful. One of the vets called me the day after to talk to me about Luna and tell me that there was nothing more that could have been done. Yesterday I received a card in the mail with condolences and everyone had signed it with such kind words. I cried but It was good tears to remember by fur baby. I would recommend this vet to anyone who wants exceptional care for their pet.
