The coaches at EAAC are so great. If you don't quite understand a movement, you can always ask without a worry, they will explain it. They are passionate about fitness and take teaching the classes seriously. There are a bunch of options to choose from class wise too - whether you want more of a HIIT workout, or focusing more on traditional lifts. I've been coming to this gym for about 9 months now, and the way I've been able to gain muscle, loose weight and lift more has been incredible! Whether you are new to lifting, never have lifted, or are experienced... the vibe is encouraging and you'll fit in just fine. So, just come if you are on the fence and you'll be hooked!

Coach Shelby is the best- I had never been to a weight lifting gym before this and Shelby made me feel totally comfortable and taught me all the basics in order to feel confident. She is not judgmental and is great with both super competitive AND non-competitive people alike, making her the ideal coach for a small group setting!!! She keeps you safe in exercises but isn’t super dogmatic about form- as long as we’re safe, she doesn’t pressure us to do it a “right” way. Overall makes working out so much fun and accessible. I also love this gym because they offer cold towels complimentary and have free yoga every month!!

This review has been a long time coming….I began coming to EAAC shortly after moving to Austin 2 years ago, and I can’t begin to express how big of an impact this gym has made on my life here. This gym is the perfect balance between being a gritty gym with hard workouts and a community of people who are honest and have integrity. Their trainers are welcoming, fun, and care a lot about form and recovery- something that in my experience is not always the case in weightlifting gyms. I had to take FMLA for a mental health break during the months of April & May this year and I can honestly say that the trainers and the community at EAAC helped to save my life. Every class I have attended I have been met with a smiling face (particularly my favorite coaches are Jesse and Shelby!) and during that hard time I could count on their consistent kindness to help pull me through to the other side. All the mushiness aside….join this gym!! I have never seen a gym rat here and the prices are unbeatable. ? love EAAC!!!

Thank you EAAC for getting my butt back into shape!! I joined a few months ago and loving how many different types of classes they offer. They have something for every strength level (my fav is Ignite) and the gym is super spacious and clean. I always leave each class dripping in sweat and energized for the day! I love all of the instructors but some of my favs have to be Shelby, Joey and Kaya. I also love their community workouts on Saturdays because I get to bring my husband (for free!) and hang with my fav workout buddy Leonard ? (see pic). Highly recommend EAAC.

I cannot say enough great things about East Austin Athletic Club! The coaches are not only knowledgeable, friendly and fun, but they’re more than and willing and able to modify the workouts and movements to accommodate your specific needs and goals. The other members are welcoming, kind and respectful of each other and overall the environment is positive, encouraging and safe. If you’re looking for a community-centered gym to call home – this is it. Highly recommend!

Was looking for a great gym and ended up finding an incredible community! There's certainly closer gyms to me, but I'd gladly travel from South Austin to be a part of this awesome community. I've made gains, great friends, and have a renewed appreciation around fitness. If you're on the fence about joining -- go to a community event, sign up for one of the free classes, meet the coaches. Just go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Love this gym and the community so much! Been going here for 2 years and plan to for many more. Between the coaches and community and workouts you’re not only coming to just workout but also meet great people who share the same passion. Coach Mars is great for breaking down boxing/kickboxing for all levels and makes it fun for everyone while getting an incredible workout. There aren’t any other gyms like this in ATX!

I love the group workout setting lead by an instructor. The instructors are motivating and working with peers pushes me to workout harder, and not skip workouts! The instructors are also very helpful with your form, and are accommodating with physical limitations. It's like having a personal trainer each session without the high cost.

I've been a member of the Club for a few months. I joined the small group class after trying out one of the big classes. The coach immediately connected me to the in-house nutritionist. They tailored a diet that perfectly complements my workout plan and caters to my individual requirements. The sense of community here is fantastic, and I can't say enough about Coach B, whose unwavering support and extensive knowledge have been invaluable on my fitness journey.

Over the past year, East Austin Athletic Club has been an integral part of my life, and to describe it as merely ‘extraordinary’ would not do it justice. The first thing that truly stands out when you step into EAAC is the impeccably curated classes. The programming feels like a masterclass in fitness. These workouts don’t just challenge the body—they also engage the mind, ensuring that every member is equipped with the knowledge and skills to sustain a long-term fitness journey. It’s not just about the intensity; it’s about the sustainability and the growth mindset that they instill in each of us.Now, let’s talk about the real stars of the show - the coaches. Their dedication, expertise, and genuine care for every individual are unparalleled. They are not just trainers; they are mentors, cheerleaders, and sometimes, the friend you didn’t know you needed. Their knack for pushing boundaries while ensuring that everyone feels safe and supported is truly commendable. With their guidance, I’ve discovered strengths I never knew I possessed.Beyond the top-notch training and incredible coaches, what truly elevates the experience at EAAC is the thriving community. Here, fitness goes beyond the physical. The camaraderie, the shared challenges, the collective triumphs—it all contributes to a profound sense of belonging. Each day brings with it the promise of not just a great workout but also moments of connection, encouragement, and fun.To anyone considering a fitness journey, I’d say look no further than EAAC. But be prepared—it’s not just a gym. It’s a community, a mentorship program, a place of self-discovery, and most importantly, it’s a second home. If you are ready to embark on a transformative journey where every step is guided, celebrated, and shared, then the East Austin Athletic Club awaits you with open arms.

Challenging workouts, uplifting coaching, diverse community, and fun events made have kept my fitness journey exciting and has kept me motivated. Their classes cater to all levels and there's a variety of workout style options and times to attend the classes. Love the coaches here but today during my workout, a guy (I think the GM, he never actually introduced himself or gave his name but I think it’s Brandon or Brendan) approached me mid-rep to ask my name and tell me to talk to him after the workout about my membership.I have been coming to this gym on occasion with two friends, using their guest passes, which is part of their membership amenities. He told me that I had 6 unpaid classes, which was news to me, since I’ve paid for 2 and used guest passes. I told him that I’ve checked in at the front desk every time and this is the first that I’m hearing of this. He told me it was because I work out at 5:30 and the staff is probably half asleep (sounds like a THEM problem) and then went on to try and discuss the guest pass and when my friends could and couldn’t use it, as if that were a conversation he should be having with me as a non-member.I love the coaches here but this guy has zero idea of what customer service or member attraction or retention looks like.I doubt I’ll be buying a membership here now because of the rude and aggressive way this guy came at me.Edit: Brendon*He’s also the guy that wrote the 5 star review about his own business below, acting as if he’s a client stumbled upon it organically. Classic.

Wish I could give EAAC more than 5 stars! EAAC isn't just a place to workout, it's an amazing community for all fitness levels where trainers are personally invested in your improvement. They pay close attention to what everyone is doing to ensure form is correct and will motivate you to do better. I could barely lift and since joining EAAC I've seen so much improvement. It's something I look forward to. So many fun events too!!
