I would 100% recommend Sorin. He is honest and took time to look over my camera with me. I had dropped it in the desert and he explained that things seemed to be working fine that it didn’t need the lens replaced and there was no way to clean the current lens. He even looked up replacement lens costs and after not finding any replacement parts gave me recommendations for a new camera.
I will always bring my camera to Sorin for any future needs!

The owner, Sorin, is a legend. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable and helpful, he's also hilarious! He takes great pride in his work, fixed my Polaroid camera in minutes, and gave me a few photography tips on the house. I highly recommend.

Your experience might be different but I wouldn’t send again any of my large format equipment. While visiting family I discovered Eurotech and when one of my leaf shutter lenses had an issue I decided to send it there. The estimate repair time was originally 2 weeks and it took almost 3 months. Had to pay for shipping 3 times, since it wasn’t mentioned as part of the guarantee for service. First repair took 3 weeks but worked for just one day. Having experience with basic maintenance of large format lenses I inspected it and it was not correctly assembled. Apparently a spring was lost in transit when I sent it for repair and I ended up buying another shutter just for parts. The remaining time I had to call every week and my cousin who works nearby asked in person about the progress but most of the times we both were told that it required a full disassembly- assembly. I finally have it and it sees to be working.

I brought in two 35mm Pentax cameras over the past year, and the owner/technician, Sorin, said he couldn't fix either one. That's understandable, but he was uncommunicative, rude, and his attempts cost me more money in the long run.
He kept the first camera for months and only provided updates when I called him. To his credit, he didn't charge for his attempts to fix the faulty meter and returned the camera after I called a final time. He kept my second camera for a month and a half. When I called every couple of weeks, he told me "Oh yeah, I'll fix that one maybe today, maybe tomorrow," with no word from him after that. After calling the third time, he said it was unfixable.
When I arrived, he had my camera completely disassembled and chided me for buying "broken cameras," even though I explained to him several times that this camera worked flawlessly for a year before the shutter jammed. He preceded to dump the completely disassembled camera into a Ziploc bag with the loose parts rolling around, touching the shutter curtain with his fingers in the process.
When I finally got the camera to a Pentax specialist, he had to charge me for the complete reassembly and informed me that Eurotech had returned my camera with a few missing parts, which cost extra. The specialist repaired the camera within a day of receiving it.
I would not recommend Sorin/Eurotech unless you know your issue will be an easy fix or you don't care how your camera is returned to you.

This man needs to be protected at all costs. I’m so glad I found this place and met the owner, who has over 40 years of camera repair experience. He’s more than happy to talk shop, (camera history and tech), and even has an amazing selection of cameras for sale, which he takes pride in talking through with you. His passion shines through. I can’t wait for an excuse to go see him again.

Fixed the light meter (well, battery contact that powers the light meter) on my m6 after I had been trying to fix it for months. Saved me more money than I care to think about. Highly recommend!

Great service for a reasonable price. Wouldn’t go any where else in Austin for camera maintenance.

I took two 15 year old Canon L lenses, that were broken and Canon wouldn't service anymore. He fixed both for $375 total and they live again!

Took my camera in to Eurotech today having a problem with the display screen not coming on. My hope was that I wouldn't have to wait more than a week or two to get it back. The owner spent about 10 minutes tinkering with it and got it working just fine, then told me there was no charge. I couldn't believe it? I laid a $20 bill on the counter anyway and left with my camera good as new!

I called a couple of weeks before and explained what camera I had and what the issue was. He said he could fix it no problem. I made the over an hour drive down just solely to get my camera fixed, just to be told casually that he couldn’t do it. Such a waste of gas and time
