Renter BEWARE!! Fiesta Gardens BuildingCould not get reservations on the phone for our venue to see if the venue could be opened early and to see if we could get the outside lighting to work . Reservations is closed on Sat and Sun during our weekend event. The contract says to call 311 for assistance. Do not call 311 for assistance, tried to get the venue opened an hour early before our event 1pm, I was reassured the venue would be open for us at that time. We did not get access till 1:45 and our event started at 2pm, we had requested 1pm.. The contract provides entry 30 minutes prior to event, that did not happen. Not the best place to have an evening event outside without your own personal lighting. We had our event during the evening and the only lighting provided was the stage lighting nothing else. Communication is really bad between 311 and Parks and Recreation Dept. Tried to get some kind of compensation for the trouble we went through but I was denied. I was told any request need to go through Parks and Rec. reservations dept not 311. I was also told the lighting provided was the stage lighting nothing else, so all the lights around the building are not part of the contract and the stage lighting is provided. We had all these tables outside and no lights. As far as the early time to enter the venue, I was told the correct time of entry was 2pm to 10pm and as long as someone is there to open at 2pm then the venue was available at the correct time. In the end we decided to end the event early. Again RENTER BEWARE!

We went to an event for Gay Pride. Great space, but not enough ventilation for the extreme hot weather that day. Bravo for the philanthropic efforts for various charities, but organizations could have been better. I wouldn't attend this event again unless it moved a better location--Zilker Park, Townlake area.

Great venue with Austin Parks and Rec. On Ladybird Lake and great for parties and receptions. Good for crowds up to 150. Outside stage for music and dancing. Plan to schedule months in advance. I've DJ'd 3 events here.

My kids play softball here in the summers. We've had no problems really. This past summer I found (and nearly stepped on in my flip flops) a used syringe hidden in the foliage under a tree where my daughter's team was warming up before their game. I tried to contact someone about it but. I havent heard back so im not sure if it was received.
