If you are eligible for an account with GEFCU, don't miss the opportunity. I moved my mortgage to a loan here and have been pleased with how well getting it paid off has gone, PLUS I got a great rate on the loan. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I hope this will turn into a life-long relationship.

Best car loan rates I could find anywhere. I now have two car loans with them and the process has been incredibly quick and smooth. Excellent communication with their loan officer Veronica Perez. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an auto loan in Austin!BTW, I am not a government employee but you can qualify to join by making a small donation to Austin libraries when opening your account.

Good afternoon, I called and had questions about opening a new account, Kathy actually transferred me to a voicemail in which troubled me. Knowing that someone is there to assist in opening a new account, and than Kaitlyn called she and her manager anawerd all questions over the phone. Thank you both so kindly. I had no problem accessing my account online, transfer money from accounts until they made these changes. Each time I attempt to access my online account, either my account number is incorrect or my password is incorrect. I had to change my password more than a dozen times. Now each time I god on it requires a access code and identify my computer, cell and tablet, which I did, but it still ask for this information each time. Now this STUPID SYSTEM won't acknowledge the access code I enters, states its incorrect each time. Now my account is locked for the weekend!!!!! I use my online account for POS bills to transfer amounts from accounts. GEFCU Online banking is USELESS!!! IM GONNA CLOSE MY ACCOUNT WITH THIS STUPID CREDIT UNION. MY LOGIN INFO IS SAVED ON MY COMPUTER YET EACH TIME I ATTEMPT TO LOG INTO MY ACCOUNT ANOTHER SCREEN POPS UP ASKING FOR MY LOG IN AND WHEN I ENTER IT IT SAYS ITS INCORRECT AND LOCKS IT. I STOPPED MY FEDERAL DIRECT DEPOSIT, REMOVED ALL MY MONEY FROM MY SAVINGS AND ONCE MY PAYCHECK GOES TO MY OTHER BANKS I'M CLOSING THIS ACCOUNT. THE OTHER REASON I'M CLOSING MY ACCOUNT IS BECAUSE WHEN YOU HAVE A DEBIT CARD DISPUTE, YOU CAN'T RETRIEVE YOUR MONEY. THE ATM'S WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO DEPOSIT MONEY INTO YOUR ACCOUNT. THEY CHARGE A FEE FOR ONLINE BILL PAY. WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR? THEIR ONLINE IS APPARENTLY HACKED AND THIS SCREEN THAT POPS UP MAY BE HACKERS TRYING TO GAIN LOG IN INFORMATION. I DON'T TRUST MY MONEY HERE ANYMORE. THEY DON'T GIVE A HOOT IF A MERCHANT STEALS YOUR MONEY, THEY SURE AS HELL WON'T DISPUTE THE CHARGE. SORRY GEFCU, I'M MOVING MY MONEY ELSEWHERE TO A BANK WHO CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS, WITH ATM DEPOSIT AVAILABILITY AND A SECURE ONLINE BANKING WITH FREE BILL PAY.

The hours for drive thru are not such that you can ever make it to the bank before working hours and actually speak someone. They do not open the drive thru until 9 am and I was told they do not have to check their night drop at any certain time as long as it's during that business day. I dropped a deposit in the night drop at 7:30 am (which I hate doing because I like to know it actually makes it to a person) that was not addressed until 5 pm. I would say this is not a customer orientated bank. The teller that I spoke to about my deposit was not overly friendly and explained they were very busy and could not get to the night drop until late in the day but that if needed I could bank on Saturday in person. They have 2 locations, neither of which are close to my home, only close to work. Now that I can't speak to a live person prior to working hours I will shop for a new bank. Banking with the the night drop that may or may not be checked until the business day has come and gone is not anywhere near this century.....

I have been a customer for many years. I've never been treated any way but courteously and respectfully by the people at GEFCU in Kyle, south Austin and north Austin. The online changeover has had a few glitches but anyone I have spoken to has always been very helpful. I feel very secure in my online dealings with this credit union. On top of that, credit unions far outweigh banks in their rates for loans and their earnings for those of us who are not wealthy. Thank you GEFCU!!
