My company uses Cox pretty religiously for upkeep and repair of our fleet. I've vetted their output on multiple work vehicles in the past and based off those experiences brought MY personal vehicle in for repair. I brought them an icky project, and they exceeded expectations. If they can get parts for it, they can fix it.
I should have left this review long before trusting them with my own vehicle. This review applies to the full multitude of work trucks I've brought to them for servicing over the years.
I'll be returning for any and all vehicle needs - work fleet related or not.

David Cox is a little hot headed man that I had the opportunity to witness a couple of days ago
I had my vehicle towed to there shop an right out the bat that guy David was yelling an cursing at on of his employees an i dont know why that was so but I don't think that that kind of behavior should be allowed anywhere.
That guy looked to be so confused afterwards.
If you can find a place cheaper than go there an save yourself a headache

This establishment is a straight rip off that only wants your hard earned money…I sent my car there because I was having overheating issues an not only did they trash my car they gave me an outrageous price to repair it…I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

These guys rock! I had already spent hundreds on mobile mechanics and locksmiths who couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car. Had it towed into George Cox and they had it affordably diagnosed and fixed within two days. They will be my go-to from here on out, cannot recommend enough. Thank you guys so much!!

Called for a simple oil change because I’m not allowed to do so in my apartments to be told by one of the workers, “I’m not interested in doing that kind of work.” I could only laugh at how poor of a response that was. 0 stars would be warranted.

Wow. I have rarely encountered this level of competence and customer care. When my wife's Prius needed electrical and AC work on a short trip to Austin, David and team offered to see us the same day, ran diagnostic tests, and fixed the issues at hand. They even gave me a ride to a nearby friend's home during the repair so that I could wait in relative comfort. There was one part they couldn't get in time, so they actually called ahead to other auto shops on my wife's road trip back home so that she could quickly get the last piece of work done later in her trip. I'm truly blown away by these folks. I'm not in Austin often, but I'd recommend them to my friends in Austin without a moment of hesitation.

Traveling thru Austin in my Skoolie bus and had a breakdown. After 2 other places couldn't help me, I found David and the crew here at George Cox. They were knowledgeable and helpful and although the issue was a bit tricky on my old bus, they got me safely back on the road. I would highly recommend them to any nomad ( or Austin local)!!! Thanks David, Ava, Cynthia and all the great mechanics. Much appreciated

As a fellow Napa Auto-care Center located in Chicagoland, I needed to find a service center to complete some work for a family members car in Austin Tx. We tried some other independent shops that just gave off bad vibes and explanations weren't adding up. Decided to try George Cox Auto and am very pleased with communications and explanation of vehicle inspection. Felt like I've already been going there for years and wasn't treated like a walk-in customer off the street. I am glad to do business with you guys. Thanks again.

The service here is terrible and the good reviews are really old. I took my boyfriends car here and he had to call the Cops because the guy refused to release his car after we no longer wanted his service. We were on our way to pay for the diagnostic labor but the guy called back to say the car was no longer ready for pick up. He claimed that they took parts off of the vehicle, but refused to tell us which parts he took off. After the cops arrived they finally told us that the removed part was a battery cover, which takes two seconds to re-attach. I feared that he was going to damage the car before we picked it up. Luckily, we called the cops before that could happen.

I had to call the Police after I opted to take my car somewhere else because he claimed the car wasn't ready to leave, after he initial told me it was. He refused to tell me which part was taken off of my car until the Police came. He told me I was asking "stupid questions". I'm a mechanical engineer, I assure you my questions were logical. Turns out it was my battery cover, which takes two seconds to pop back on. I don't know what he was going to do to my car if I didn't call the Cops. He was upset because I decided to take my car else where as a result of the increasing diagnostic price. Don't believe the old ratings. He inflates his prices.
