I’m extremely disappointed with how my issue was handled at this Goodwill location.
After being mistakenly charged for two items when I only purchased one, I immediately called the store and spoke with a very polite and helpful associate who confirmed the mistake and told me to come back during his shift to get it resolved. I appreciated his professionalism and willingness to help.
However, when I returned to the store, the situation took a frustrating turn. The general manager (Lisa, if I’m not mistaken) was standing by the counter the entire time, yet completely avoided addressing me for over 15 minutes. Walking around the store
Instead of handling the issue directly — which involved just a $4.99 overcharge — she sent someone from corporate or loss prevention (Angel) to speak with us, treating a simple refund request like a theft investigation.
There is a 30-day return policy, and I had proof of the overcharge. The manager could have easily verified my claim and resolved it on the spot, but instead chose a confrontational and dismissive approach. Her energy from the beginning was negative, and it made me feel like my time and honesty didn’t matter.
It’s incredibly disappointing that a general manager couldn’t handle a basic customer service issue without escalating it unnecessarily. This was not about the money it was about principle, accountability, and respect.
I hope this review serves as feedback for better training and professionalism in the future.

3/8/25 - 2 pm.
I thrift all around Austin and other cities and have never encountered such a rude worker. I wasn’t able to get her name but it was an older lady with brown hair. We were going into the dressing room and she rudely walked over and snapped at us. She told us the limit was 4 and if there was a line we would have to rotate with the line with every 4 items. Rules are not a problem however we were the only people told this and she was very rude about it. Then she stood there and watched me sitting by the door as if I was a child. We were over there for about 10 minutes and no other person was told in that manner nor the same thing. In fact, she told another customer to just “hang her extras on the door outside and grab them”. It completely ruined my shopping and thrifting experience and we ended up putting almost all of our clothes back without even trying on. There was also a child that was disabled and was screaming. A male worker walked by and said “welcome to goodwill, the daycare”. I will never be back to this location. Very disappointed in your employees. This isn’t a Louis Vuitton store, get a grip.

Brought a nice table with 4 legs unattached with all the hardware. It was too big to put in my 🚙 SUV. Not only did the OCD man who was taking the donations was rude and told me to get back in my car and wait till the other car pulled away, (We were unloading our car and trying to set the boxes near the door and out of the way.) but told me “we don’t have any tools (screwdrivers) to put the table together, you have to do it and then bring it back. The manager doesn’t allow us to use tools on the premises.” Salvation Army is where I donate my items now. GW has too many restrictions and have jacked all their prices up.

I usually get all my bmx bikes from here, I never get bothered for when I’m using Wi-Fi or playing Pokémon go but for some reason today dude randomly assumed I’m trying to take the furniture so he start yelling disrespectful shit at me. Like whole time I’m just catching Pokémon. Thanks for the rude comments I guess

There was an older woman there today and she's so rude that I'd be surprised if no one fist fights her eventually. Almost ran my daughter over with a clothing rack (very obviously on purpose as she looked at us and swung it in our direction) despite me holding my child's hand as we walked- we were not in anyone's way so please kindly go back to your bird's nest, you harpy. To whatever gremlin was working at 2pm on 6/29/24, I'm sorry you're 60 working at Goodwill but that's hardly my fault. The young man who rang me up was very nice, though.

Putting aside that Goodwill is an evil empire to begin with, but this specific location is plagued with one of the worlds biggest Karens as a general manager I have ever seen in my life, not just size wise but attitude as well, not to mention that her store is responsible for completely polluting. The Lake Creek, creek And surrounding businesses with a random garbage that they refused to pick up, I spend almost an hour every day, picking up after their garbage that ends up in the creek and has already poisoned it past the point of coming back

I really love this branch of Goodwill. The manager and other employees are very kind and they do their job with passion. Especially the employee responsible for the book section is, in my opinion, the best employee at Goodwill. I thank her once again.

Absolutley terrible. I drove in to drop off my donation only to get "sho-off" by one of their team members.
He was a white male with short blond hair, wearing glasses.
You should consider getting new help....just dispicable.

I hope this review is for the Goodwin on N Lamar in Austin. I’ve been to this particular one 6 times in the last two weeks as I’m moving. The last two trips were so disappointing in how my donations were handled. One was a ceramic nativity set. I watched the guy just dump the set without caring whether it broke or not. Three days later I went to drop some things off and they were all breakables. I watched them just turn the container upside down and you heard the glass breaking as it went in. He just dumped them into a cardboard box. He also knew I was watching. I will never again donate anything to goodwill again!

My husband has to come with me when I drop things off and when I shop, because otherwise the men working there hit on me. I had one tell me I was too pretty to be single (I’m not single?), and just this week while checking out, the man asked me to say “Krishna” and thanked me when I did (I wish I’d told him to just ring me up) then went on to compliment my tattoos. I’m betting he doesn’t do that to men. Please have a discussion with your workers about appropriate behavior with customers.

I feel like this Goodwill ripped me off. I was shopping yesterday with my young daughter. The sign says white tags 50 % off. I found a kids shark costume with a white tag. After I paid I realized they didn't discount it and they said because Halloween items don't count. There is no sign on the sign that says there are exclusions. They manager said they can only refund me but on a gift card. She was uncaring how it's misleading. She said they were supposed to remove all the Halloween stuff but missed that one. I won't shop hear again.

I stopped going here after I watched them lie about the price tag. Apparently they forgot to change over the price tags jacking up the prices by 3x for Halloween and when someone found some coveralls, they had a different price then what was listed on the item. The refused to honor their own price. I watch this happen to the person in front of me in line. Terrible way to treat any customer, at any establishment. It's fraud to change prices at the register.
