I had a new patient appointment in Nov. 2023 and was told I needed a deep clean, multiple fillings, surgery for moderate gum disease. I could see how I might need a deep clean so I scheduled that for later the same afternoon. When I was taken back to the room, the hygienist got situated and asked if I was ready. I told her yes but my chart indicated that I was to have light sedation with all procedures due to severe anxiety. She huffed and rudely asked, “can’t you just do it without?” To which I replied I’d rather not. She groaned again and left to complain to others in the office at which point I just walked out of my appointment.I asked for my images to be sent to me so I could go to a new provider and was told by Brenda that she would email them to me. It took 3 more phone calls and over three months to actually receive my images and treatment plan.I went to a new office and was told I don’t need any of the procedures Great Expressions was going to do and there are just a few areas to monitor.I went here because of all the reviews and should have known better as soon as I saw the front desk had some sort of giveaway for a free toothbrush if you left a google review.

I hate to do this because the people there have, to me and my children's face, been very nice. However, I got a temporary partial that two teeth fell out of within a month, we paid for my son to have a crown that didn't come in for several months. Errors happen and i understand that, but i have been calling, emailing, and portal messaging them for at least 5 months trying to get a resolution but they always tell me someone will call me back and that hasn't happened. They send me bills, which I am willing to pay, but they can't explain the charges or how my insurance payments don't align. I don't like to leave negative reviews but, at this point, customers should hear the truth.

My fear was pain and uncertainty of over charge. Very helpful staff and professional care

Very unethical practice stay far away!! I was in 2 weeks ago since I recently moved to Austin from Houston. Long story short, they freaked me out with all sorts of fables about my dental hygiene. I drove back to houston and saw my old dentist and he said everything was fine and that they were trying to pull a fast one on me. STAY FAR AWAY!

I’ve been going to Great Expressions for a few months now, and the staff and Dr. Acorn have been great! Everyone is always very nice and real. As someone with extreme dental anxiety, they always treat me with the upmost kindness.

I went in as a new patient due to my new health insurance. In the first place, Dr. Acorn was extremely late for my appointment, which evidently was right up against their closing time. She rushed through my exam in a major hurry, and quickly recommended a deep cleaning and four cavity fills. I was shocked, as I take very good care of my dental health and have been fortunate to have regular check-ups and cleanings my whole adult life. No dentist has ever recommended so much treatment to me all at once, much less did my last dentist give any indication I was on a path to need this much care only 4 months ago. Sure enough, I took my x-rays and the suggested treatment plan to a friend who is a dentist, and got a second opinion, which was that there is no scenario where I am in need of almost any of the items in Dr. Acorn's treatement plan. If I had blindly accepted the recommendations, it would have been over $1200 in unnecesary dental expenses. I wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone and I won't be returning!

Sometimes checkout can go a little slow, but that’s really my only gripe. I’ve gone to many dentist in my life and this is one of few that haven’t tried to get me to pay for unnecessary things; claiming I had cavities I didn’t, or that my teeth are in bad shape when they’re definitely not. I used to dread going to the dentist for this reason, but great expressions has been good to me for the last several years and I trust them with my teeth. The staff is friendly and know what they’re doing. I dread the day I have to switch dental offices.

Horrible experience! I called and made and appointment and then was told there was no info on me so I scheduled another day and again was told the same thing because of a phone number issue but we got that settled out and was told to come back at 1pm, it was still frustrating but I thought okay they were really nice at the front so it’ll be fine and I went back at 1. I got there early so I sat in my car listening to music and went in 30 min early and sat in the waiting room for a while until 1 and when I made it to the back the lady got me in the scan and then walked away to literally trash talk about my car and me saying how ghetto I was and who could be that ghetto and my song choice was trash and used explicit curse words which was so unprofessional and very rude also funny how they waited 30 minutes to do it because I feel like they knew it was me they were talking about and I also told them that they were talking about me and how embarrassed they were another lady even yelled out “that what y’all get for having loose lips” that goes to show how loud they were talking and laughing so I got up and canceled my whole check up and I will never be returning nor will my family it just made me feel like they were going to judge me and my teeth after my treatment so please trust me when I say DO NOT GO HERE I hope the two lady’s get some sort of punishment for their actions. Can’t believe this experience.
