They tried to swindle me left and right, kept adding time to the cost, first they were supposed to start being paid when they arrived to my apt, then they tried to say when they arrived at their job, THEN they tried to say when they left their house for work that day, adding an extra hour of pay to each mover. There was only supposed to be two movers since you pay so much for each one each hour, three showed up that day and I thought hey maybe it’ll be faster, nope they were literally carrying a pillow at a time. Me and my husband ended up carrying half the boxes and they were joking at us “stop it our job” we cannot afford for you to waste our money carrying the tiniest pillow each trip. They were horrible and lied. Then at the end they don’t even tell you it “costs more” unless you have cash. I will never use them again and will tell everyone how unprofessional they were

Used them for a local move about two years ago but just got down to writing this review. When the furniture arrived at our new location we noticed damage to an antique desk that we pointed out to the movers. They took photos of it and reported it to the company. The owner promised to settle with me to repair the damage. After getting an estimate I sent it to him. I made numerous calls and sent numerous emails, to which he never responded. I would not recommend this company!

Groovy Movers NEVER called me, asked for inventory or provided me with a quote/confirmation even though I was able to "book" a time on their website. I was dealing with a fast turnaround time and found another company in Austin that gave me a quote and confirmation in less than 5 hours. When I filled out a contact form to "cancel" my booking time they never responded to that either. Moving is a logistics business and a time sensitive business but clearly this company doesn't care about either of those things.

This company is unresponsive. I was able to "book" an appointment time on Groovy Movers' website but they didn't follow up to ask for a quote, confirm pricing or the time. I needed a last minute turnaround time so I found another mover in Austin that gave me a quote and booking within 5 hours. When I filled out a contact form to cancel with Groovy Movers they never responded to that either. Moving is a time sensitive issue with a lot of logistics and it is extremely unprofessional to not respond to customer requests.

I used this service last year because someone recommended them. They knew the owner and everything went perfectly fine. Guys showed up, moved my stuff, no issues. I scheduled an appt. this year and apparently between the time I booked and now the company is out of business? It's 2020, so hardly the worst thing going on, but I definitely would have appreciated a call or a response to my recent inquiries trying to figure out what was going on with my appt. Also, nothing prevents you from booking online and receiving a confirmation, so they need to fix that. At least you don't have to put in credit card information, so no worries about being charged.

I had a confirmed appointment for Saturday at 9am. The owner (Jed) is who I was communicating with, and a few days before the confirmed move, he stopped responding and they never showed up to move us. He was even messaged on Instagram and he read it and still didn't respond. There were good reviews on here and the BBB so i assumed he was just busy and would still send a team out, since the appointment was confirmed - but no one showed up. We tried calling the number but it was now out of business - super sketchy. Uhaul was sold out of trucks so we had to last minute call a ton of friends to help us move the smaller stuff, and last minute find movers for several days (they were all booked) to be out of our house within days, spending so much more $ last minute in a time where we are paying utility and house deposits. Incredibly unprofessional and would never suggest Groovy Movers to anyone.

Movers broke my stuff when I moved. Really sketchy owner (Jed). Said he would send me a check for the damages. Nothing. Dodged my calls for weeks and months. Avoid this moving group!!

AVOID! The movers broke my tv and damaged my furniture when they moved me. I called Jed and he told me he would send me financial reimbursement for what was damaged (we settled on a number). Weeks go by and I haven't received anything. I called GroovyMovers over 30 times and Jed was "out of the office" or "he will call you back." I eventually got ahold of him (called from a different phone) and told me he was sending the check out that week. This was months ago. Nothing. So if you want your stuff to be damaged and then have a really flakey owner/manager handle your claim, be my guest. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

I have used Jed and Groovy Movers more than once. The most recent move, they showed up several minutes early, ready to work, and didn’t stop until the truck was loaded and my belongings were securely packed. I was blown away by their positive attitudes (Lee and Jed moved me) and great work ethic. Jed is a local Austin business owner, who I will certainly continue using, and recommend to anyone wanting a fair price and quality move. Jed and Lee thank you very much! Next time I move I will call you.

The only reason I can giving this company 3 stars is because Jed was so pleasant on the phone when scheduling my move during this very stressful time. I cannot say the same for the movers that came to help me. They were okay at first but when they were supposed to meet me at my storage unit 7 minutes away, which I helped him put in his GPS and saw it came up at the right location. They called me and said they were at a 7/11 (right next to the storage unit) and they were lost. Somehow it took them 50 minutes to get to the storage unit. I wouldn't be upset but they still changed me for the time they got "lost" which is very unprofessional. I am almost positive they took a lunch break during that time. I move often and always tip generously but for the first time, I decided not to. I've been in the customer service industry for a long time and I know how hard it can be but I also expect good service for how much I am paying.

Had a need to move a piano on short notice. Rogers and Stephen arrived the same day and on time. Made short work of the moving and did a great job. They were very helpful and courteous. Would highly recommend Groovy Movers.

Groovy Movers packed all of our stuff up for us, and then came back and moved it all the next day. We had a lot of things and throughout the multiple work days the crew stayed organized and worked quickly. You could tell nobody was wasting any time and even though there was a lot to be done the movers were quick and maintained a quick pace. Overall, I was very happy with the move and will be referring them to friends and colleagues

If you are reading reviews on yelp to decide which mover to use THIS IS THE ONE. I have used other moving companies and groovy surpassed everyone in every aspect. Customer service was top notch, the organization and prep they did on my furniture to be moved really put me at ease of any damage happening. I couldn't be happier with this moving company!

William, Rogers, and Cedric were phenomenal! We moved from a 3rd story to another 3rd story apartment and they were fast, professional, and courteous. They took care to wrap up everything well, and disassembled and reassembled everything quickly. Don’t know when we sill be moving again, but we will absolutely use Groovy movers and will request these guys specifically!

We have had Jed’s team help us in a pinch. He is trustworthy and dependable, in the moving industry it’s great to help each other out. Great company!
