Went in planning to buy a bass cabinet this morning. The employee working on a guitar next to the bass amps seemed really bothered when I asked him the price on a couple of the cabinets. Def won't spend money there in the future.

Terrible customer service. This afternoon to drove to Guitar Center with the intention of purchasing a new $1,200 mixer. When I entered the Live Sound area, the employee behind the counter was busy with another customer placing an order.I stood by patiently waiting for them to finish. It was obvious that I was waiting to be helped. As I was looking at things in the display cases, the other customer’s transaction was completed. The employee grabbed his jacket and proceeded to walk out of the store without ever acknowledging me.I was a bit puzzled about what just happened. After a minute or so, another employee walked by and I asked if there was anyone in Live Sound that could help me. He said, “maybe he’s at lunch. Let me check”. This was around 5:30pm. He went into the back and quickly returned and said, “He’s gone for the day” and walked off. “ I decided to leave.Seriously??? This store is depressing. Guitar Center has pasted its peak. Sad.

Staff is knowledgeable regarding all products sold (which is not always the case at GC). These guys n gals are the exception, plus it makes their day to hear smoke on the water! Go ahead, turn it up real loud!! On second thought, no. Don't do any of that. Go in. Buy stuff. Appreciate excellent staff. Remember guys, she's gonna be mad no matter what you bring home from GC, so make it worthwhile, better grab a couple extra guitars, for, ummm.... Emergencies! Yeah! that's the ticket!

Lazy staff. Unhelpful. Lots of items aren’t even labeled with a price so this lazy staff member told me to speak to a sales associate to find out the price of a drum set I was looking at. But the line was a mile long. Whatever. You just lost a sale and return customer.

Nice people but they don’t care to make a profit. I couldn’t get help with an instrument after waiting for 20 minutes.

Revision..After a long hiatus from shopping at guitar center I finally went back to pick up some essentials like guitar strings and a new mandolin strap. They still have the same wide variety of instruments with better than most pricing and lots of ways to purchase or finance a new piece of musical gear. I've always been a fan of their pricing and the variety of entry level to higher end brands they carry cover most of the spectrum of the musical instrument world has to offer. It's truly a big box store for the musician and like other big box stores you will be satisfied here if what you seek falls into their category.Their entry level products tend to be quality name brand instruments we have all grown to trust and the prices are more than competitive really.. Their return policy is easier to maneuver and tend to be fair to the consumer. Lots of reasons to go to guitar center.. their pricing and welcoming, friendly policy makes it easy for beginners to find and afford an instrument so any cons I might have fall into a category that I feel aren't indicative of the true nature of this company. Look online for any deals before you go and don't be surprised when you leave there with more than you came to get.. it's easy to suddenly find something you suddenly can't live without at these prices..Ok instrument store, if you like piss poor service from holier than thou sales associates (which if they were all as good at creating and playing music would be anywhere but spending their Saturday nights in Guitar Center)... Selection of instruments are identical to a quarter to a third of what you would find in their catalog called Musicians Friend. Order your instrument. You might not have played it but at least 9 everyone else has either!
