I was just checking out at the grocery and I was in the self checkout minding my own business and one of the ladies standing in that area decided to intrude upon my experience and tell me how to check out. Wrong. Let people ask for help. I go through the self checkout to be left alone.I asked for more space. Why? Im to polite to say why but I’m sure she knows on a personal level. It was stressful stressful to have her in my space. The truth hurts and she should know that. It made me anxious and that’s why I asked for personal space. When I left the other young lady was rude and condescending to me saying BYE and said but very rudely. Wrong again. I am a guest and I was minding my own business and they were harassing me. That young lady had long black hair with purple streaks. I asked her name she refused to give it so she gave me the manager David. He listened but I’m not so sure he cared. Abusive young ladies. Extremely intrusive on another humans personal space and I have every right to ask for more space. I think I will skip that self checkout from now on so I can have a little more space and be left alone. I was not holding up a line or anything. She just decided to cross my boundaries for zero reason. It’s really creepy. They should know how it feels to everyone else. Like you can’t breathe.

Inconsistent business practices. I have come in with my dog multiple times to this location, managers have seen and even complimented that she’s a beautiful dog. Today the manager mentioned they can’t be inside the store, and he did point me to the sign at the door. However, as this was happening there was another dog in the store and they seemed to be doing nothing about it. When the sign was shown, the officer stepped in for no reason and asked me to leave. The manager had mentioned I didn’t have to leave. The officer even threatened to issue a criminal trespassing because I said I would wait until the other dog owner was also asked to leave. He seemed to be abusing his power because the manager wasn’t asking me to leave and he mentioned “but I am” AND he was standing at the door when I walked in. So NOW he wanted to do his job, when he could have done his job from the start and tell me I couldn’t go in. And stopping the other dog owner too. It felt like discrimination against my large dog because there was another small dog in the store that they weren’t doing anything about. I get it’s a grocery store but had I’ve been told the first time I walked in with my dog, I wouldn’t have come back.Get the business practices consistent, and get the officer to either do his job at all times and not pick and choose when he feels like speaking up and using his officer title.1 star not because I was asked to leave, but for the poor experience from officer at addressing the situation he could have prevented to begin with by letting me know I couldn’t go in.

Rosario was my check lady a few times and I half to say it is employees like her that give HEB their great name to me besides their better prices. I worked in retail customer service most of my life and she is FIVE STARS. God Jesus Bless

'Most' H-E-B employees are nice, helpful people. Find 'them' and your experience will be a good one...!!

Dear H-E-B, you have become the only chain of grocery stores here in Texas, and especially in Austin. I have been to almost every HEB here in the Austin area, to see how service is compared to the one I uselessly shop at and I don’t know who is conducting there hiring process in Austin but they could definitely do better. Or do better training. I see so many employees (especially on this store on riverside and pleasant valley) just standing around talking to each other not really helping or doing their job. Also why doesn’t HEB have baggers any more? Like I’m sorry but if I’m already paying inflation prices on food why do I have to bad my own groceries? This was not a thing before, this bag your own groceries became a thing when Austin ban plastic bags. Another thing why did they stop doing overnight staking, now I always see them staking shelf when they first open at 6am, for one the people trying to do there job are in the way of people trying to shop and it becomes so chaotic in the mornings. Before Covid you could go to the store at 6am and be able to shop without having to be in the way of the stokers. And why after Covid they stop doing the 24hrs? It was convenient to have it 24hr, I remember could go in at 2am and shop without it being too busy or too crowded. I guess this is the price to pay by only having one major grocery store.

Total HEB ghetto store or how about HEB minu? Two thirds of checkout counters closed. Understaffed, not safe, frequent missing items, non existing customer service. HEB yet again taking advantage of their near total monopoly in Austin.

When I was a student, I lived in Riverside. We used to visit this store for our food needs. Fresh vegetables, quality products and friendly employees... I hope you continue with the same quality.
