I really like this heb. I lived by the 7th street HEB then the Hancock HEB for decades, and I prefer Far West over both. My 3 stars are for the pharmacy: they’re always kind and work fast. There’s rarely a line. I’m taking 2 stars off because of what others have said: it’s a bit dirty and there’s frequent construction, which doesn’t bother me, but my negative feedback is that the aisles are too narrow since curbside has taken off. Today I had an employee (who was polite) reach around and over my head to do his curbside work in produce. I’ve been assaulted (1/5 women have) and it scared the heck out of me. I don’t blame the employee — but I do feel like this store is for the curbside shoppers and those who shop inside don’t matter. Curbside employees are in a rush, they push through shoppers with huge racks, they don’t excuse themselves so we can’t know they’re coming, and they have long conversations in front of product so in-person shoppers can’t reach what they need. I don’t use curbside because I don’t want to sometimes… not sure why but it really seems like Far West wishes we’d all use curbside and not come indoors. It’s frustrating! I won’t stop shopping here, and I have no clue how management could improve, but I wanted to give feedback in case it could help.

This is easily the worst HEB I’ve ever been to. They don’t have things that almost every other store does and if they do it’s not in stock. This is the only grocery store in the area so it sucks I have to drive 10+ minutes to get anything.

Objectively, this is the worst HEB. Unfortunately, it’s also the closest one to my house.
However, it takes so long to get out of the parking lot that I’m considering just driving to another location instead.
As other customers have commented, this place has been changing their freezers and fridges for I believe five months now. It’s… uncanny how long it is taking and how disruptive it is.
First of all, large parts of both the front parking lot and the back area for pedestrians are taken up by giant shipping crates, some of which appear to be refrigerated. This sucks, because the parking situation is already dire.
Second of all, they are moving things around all the time and it’s hard to know if you’ll get what you went in for. One time, and I cannot make this up, I was going to buy some bread that was in the freezer, and someone walked in front of me, opened the freezer door, and unloaded all the bread to move it somewhere else. Could I have said “hey, I want that bread?” Sure. But why is it even happening during prime shopping hours anyway?
Third of all, about 20% of the bagged produce I buy here has gone bad within the next day or so. The worst is the bagged broccoli, which I stopped buying completely.
I am now trying curbside because at least with curbside when they sell you food that has gone bad, you can easily report it. I’m not going to bring $3 of green beans back to the store for a refund, but I shouldn’t be getting home with spoiled green beans.
I even called corporate about all the renovations because it is just so weird that a store would agree to do something disruptive - HEB corporate had no idea of any kind of renovation. I spoke to store employees in October when I called to try and see when this massive disruption would be over. An employee told me she had been told December. It’s now January and it’s still going on.
I do not know what is going on here, why corporate somehow doesn’t know about it, or why it would be happening in the first place. Frankly, I suspect graft or self-dealing. There’s no way that these management choices are what’s best for the store.

The security guards are a disgrace, they don't help people who need help, they just wander around, and when they get bored, they mess with people and make people disgusted with that area.

Needs remodeling. Pharmacy is very slow to process prescriptions, some chasiers/baggers have a bad attitude. Shredded cheese randomly located on the opposite side of the store away from sliced cheese.

I kept visiting H-E-B for years. It’s my first time feeling been offended and it’s on purpose. The cashier(Ashok) today was so rude. He doesn’t even know how to hand over the change properly. He even try to let me grab my own change from his hand. Let go my money. Ok? So unpleasant experience in HEB that I’ve never been.

Always Crowded, decent selection of food. Feels like they have more store branded items than name brand. Prices are ok and the quality is represented by the price. Sometimes you can find deals.

This was my favorite HEB
In the past year the situation has become terrible. The store is dirty. The floor is dirty. Stock is terrible. Wires everywhere. They move refrigerators. Smell of bad food. The store needs better management and total remodeling.
It is a lot of out of date food. Bad food. Smells bad.
Please take care of my review

Been a long time buyer of HEB Meal Simple products but recently stopped microwaving the food inside of the black plastic containers they come in. I've learned that this could be potentially dangerous. I'd like alternatives to be explored if possible.

This store specializes in making the checkout as slow as humanly possible.

The kosher section here is expansive with plenty of selection! Store is clean, staff might be some of the best around. Nice gem hidden off to the side, come in and check it out, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Two stars because the store is still one of the best stocked in northwest Austin. However, my shopping experience was completely ruined by the attitude of the checker named “JoJo“. After putting all my groceries on the till, I politely said “hello, how are you today?”. I was met with a sour glare and no reply. The bagger piped up and greeted me nicely, trying to make up for the pitiful attitude and behavior of JoJo. I replied nicely to the bagger and then again asked JoJo how she was doing. Her reply? A very angry “I’m fine”. After this she began helping the bagger bag my groceries, during which she was angrily stuffing my groceries into the bags. Huge attitude. She literally threw my bread into a bag and then started tossing heavier items on top of it. Before I could protest, the bagger stopped her and said “ take out the bread and give it to me”. The bagger then placed my bread appropriately at the top of a bag along with the eggs and other easily damaged items. Look, I’m pretty much done with millennial anger. I’m just guessing, but I’m pretty sure it’s because I’m a tall white man. I say this because I was instantly judged as someone upon which she could vent her anger. I graciously thanked the bagger and departed with the feeling of “what did I do wrong?”. Absolutely nothing. I was pleasant and kind when I spoke to her. I did buy meat, so maybe she’s one of those “meat is murder” people. I don’t know, but I’ve shopped at this H-E-B for over 20 years and have never been treated this way.
