Kay at Happy Salon is the BEST!!! I bounced from one salon to another for years, never quite comfortable with my color or style, until I found Kay. I totally trust her to make recommendations, listen to me & discuss options, and I always walk out feeling confident and pretty. Highly recommend them.

I arrived on time for my appointment, but my stylist accidentally took a walk-in appt exactly at the time when my appointment began! As a result I missed my best friends birthday dinner. I loved how they did my hair but just end up feeling really disappointed that nothing was offered in the way of a discount etc. :( it does not make me want to return because they seemed uninterested in doing right by me. For clarification: I sat for 55 minutes before my appointment began. Then had to sit in traffic for an hour because of the difference this created in my schedule. I would have changed the appt if I had known I’d miss my bff birthday dinner.

I have been going to Happy for 10 years +. This salon was recommended to me by my doctor for their healthy hair products that they use. I have seen Kay all this time and Amy for the last 2 years. The quality of service is impeccable. I have transitioned with Kay from her old venue to her current one and now to the new cozy space too. It is truly impressive on what they have done with their new space. They are so personal with their service and so welcoming too. I love going to such a high end salon without any pretense. Would recommend this salon without any hesitation.

Worst experience of my life ever here. The women cutting my hair was ripping chunks of my hair out w a skinny comb . I literally cried for days , I felt so shame and she tried to shame me like my hair was ugly … I had hair to my butt and she cut it half off , everything I did Not want that is what she did . Stay away from that woman with very short hair like a Boy Hair cut almost . I was in such shock after that -I cried for days .
BEWARE
She did not like me , and she did not like my hair . She should have just been professional instead of giving me PTSD .
Shame on you - I have beautiful hair , it’s not my fault you don’t . Don’t you ever shame an innocent person like that , tried to make me feel bad .
If you don’t know how to cut someone’s hair or do what they want - tell them straight . Or refer to someone else

First time customer and Amy is fabulous! She made me feel comfortable about my much needed haircut from start to finish, and took the time to make me feel wonderful. I've ridden my bike past this salon for months; glad I took a chance to make an appointment and stop in today. I'll be back for another dose of positive attitude and beautiful healthy hair!

Very inexperienced stylists. They double book so they can make money and this cuts into your service time and experience. Not a happy salon, but greedy cattle call salon. I had highlights in March 2022, color touch up at the end of April and because of the double booked situation, I over processed, fried my scalp and my highlights were gone! I was told to book and pay for new highlights!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!

I have never been to a more personal salon. Kay and her team of stylists have been taking care of me for years now, and I couldn't recommend enough. From highlights to trims, eyebrow tenting AT THE CORRECT SHADE, and a genuinely simulating conversation- theyare the only place to go in Austin.If LOCATION and beverage selection doesn't have you going, their styling will have you ready to enter any fine dining or night out in Austin.Did I mention the conversation and eyebrow tenting? This charming little Aveda salon is located in a 100 year old historic house right near downtown on West Sixth St. Added bonus: they have plenty of free parking! The stylists are all friendly and talented professionals. The owner Kay is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I highly recommend Happy Salon for the great location, chill atmosphere and exceptional customer service. It's called Happy for a reason!Service: Haircut

Stay Away from this Salon they have horrible customer service! They raise their prices and don't let you know in advance until you go to pay for your highlights. I was a customer for about a year. When I would make my next appointment I would ask the cost for my next appointment and then when I would come in and get my highlights done and go to pay the pricing was hiked significantly without any notice. The owner of this salon does not send out an email notifying her clients of price hikes which is so unethical and unprofessional. The owner of this salon is lazy and does not care about her clients. The other thing that is a major problem is they don't guarantee their work. I had highlights done by Brittany and when it was finished I told her I was not happy. She didn't make time to fix it right then I had to wait two weeks to get it fixed. When I came in she was mean and upset that she had to fix her work. She fixed the top but didn't put any highlights in my crown and I wasn't aware because I couldn't see what she was doing. I had to make another appointment to fix the crown because I didn't notice it until after I got home. I set the appointment again another two weeks I had to wait. The owner text me and said Brittany was canceling my appointment and the owner said she supported this hairdresser's bad behavior. I have left this salon for the VERY bad customer service because of price hikes without notification and for not guaranteeing their work. The owner supports her abusive hairdresser over her customers. PLEASE do not spend your money in this salon.
