Reserved a car online, drove there just to hear that they have no cars. Disappointing and unprofessional not being able to honor reservations

Booked a reservation. Got a confirmation. Showed up and no car available. The lady in front of me in line had the same experience.

This location is right by ALL THE CONSTRUCTION so be prepared for a nail in your tire and have to put a spare on and be charged for a new tire. These people are greedy and I will never do business with them again. One of the people I spoke with chuckled and thought the whole thing was funny. Very unprofessional. What a mistake going to Hertz!!!!
And if you are always “striving to do better,” why don’t you make this right? You can’t deny the excessive amount of construction right next to your building. massive construction.

To be fair, I booked a car at the very last minute, so the only option available was an EV car, which would definitely be my first and the last ever renting an EV car as it took so much time with charging. The locations that we used from the car options were limited and with slow speeds.
It's also expensive compared to a regular car. My 8 hour trip took me almost 16 hours a day due to charging. So, it was a total waste of time.
If anyone does get an EV, please look for the following. We learned along the way:
1. Electrify America Charging Station (Walmart) so very convenient, and they have high speed at 350kw, and the cost is ~$35.
2. GM energy - First, 80% takes 30 minutes or so, but after that, it gets slow, but it takes an hour in average to fully charge.
However, where I found issues with the rental itself are the following:
1. The car was extremely dirty (outer). I had to wash or sanitize my hands opening and closing the car door.
2. When I was placing the booking, it noted that there were 13 regular cars available, and then I got a call to say that there's only 6 EV cars available. To start off, I think this needs to be updated.

Thanks, hertz oak hill. They always were kind and clarified all my quires with patience, unlike other car rental near by.

Rented a car halfway to Fredericksburg and our tire blew out. Had to get towed back to town and there was a little confusion about whether I was going to be responsible for it so that put a damper on things. In the end they voided my contract and all was good.

I was treated very poorly by what appeared to be a manager. He would barely speak to me and when he did was incredibly rude and demeaning. He refused to recognize my reservation and locked the door in my face.

They called me , after I was already in town, to tell me that they would not have a car for me, despite having booked it months in advance. I was told that they had "overbooked by about a hundred cars." At least they were honest about how scummy their business tactics are.

We booked a car four months ago for the solar eclipse. 30 minutes before we were supposed to pick up the car, they texted us to tell us that they gave our car to someone else and that we were screwed. They offered no assistance. They didn’t automatically refund me and made me navigate a complex phone system to even get a refund.
I’d recommend looking elsewhere for car rentals, since this place doesn’t honor reservations and will waste your time if they don’t have enough cars.
I filed a complaint with the Texas AG.

Oh #$%! this place!
I made a reservation to come see the eclipse months in advance. I have always wanted to see one and went to great detail to plan out my trip. Well, we land in Austin to a text message which said basically "Sorry, we're out of cars, tough luck."
We had booked an event an hour outside of town and things to do all over that required us to have a car. So, simply put, these people really effed up our trip, and showed zero compassion when I called them. Again, "yeah, we overbooked tough luck."
Just look at their bad reviews. Don't rent from these people, they should be driven out of business!

Do not give this place your business unless you are desperate. They are impossible to contact. Our flight got cancelled, which made us late to pick up the vehicle. Called many times but always rang through. They gave away the vehicle we had already paid for (this is in the clause) but instead of refunding us, gave us a number to call to chase our own refund.
All in all, a very negative experience. Tryin to get a car here hurts.

Booked a car several months in advance for a planned trip to Austin. Prepaid for the vehicle. Turned up and they were "overbooked" so had given our rental away. Then suggested I call reservations at Hertz corporate because they could not assist with a refund directly.
Worst service I've ever had at Hertz.
If you actually need your rental vehicle, and not just the process of booking and paying for it, then go elsewhere.

Overbooked. Told me to rereserve at another location for 4X the price. Pretty shady stuff. Will be contacting local media outlets to bring this to their attention.

Gave me a car that reeks of smoke. They would not give me another car without paying more. The Manager Marcos Alacron was less than helpful.
