Worst car rental experience ever. Do not use

I saw lots of negative reviews on here, so I wanted to balance things out with the very positive experience that I had. From the moment I called in the morning to confirm vehicle availability, to my arrival at the rental shop, to the moment I picked up my car, I was treated very professionally. The team was fully staffed when I arrived with a manager on site. I was greeted kindly. They were very polite, and very professional. Caleb helped me with my rental and did a great job. I received a nice, new car, at a great price, which I am thoroughly enjoying.

Do NOT rent from here! Save yourself a headache. They will charge you a “cleaning” $400 fee. I rented this car to drive from San Antonio airport to Austin. Less than 24 hours.Horrible customer service

I am absolutely furious and beyond disappointed with the utterly abysmal service I received from Hertz. Let me tell you, folks, this was a complete and utter nightmare that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.It all started innocently enough—I rented a car from Hertz on a Thursday evening in Austin, planning a smooth trip to Ennis. But fate had other plans, as I encountered a flat tire along the way. Cue the frustration and inconvenience.Hertz's idea of assistance was a joke. After what felt like an eternity on the phone, they sent a truck to replace the tire with a spare and pointed me towards a mechanic in Ennis. Sounds good, right? Wrong. The mechanic informed me it would take a solid two hours to fix the tire with the voucher code Hertz provided. Two hours! Can you believe it?As if that wasn't enough, the spare tire decided to play traitor and went flat too. Can you imagine my frustration spending nearly two hours stranded on the highway, trying to explain my situation to Hertz's representatives over the phone? It was a circus, let me tell you.Eventually, they arranged for a tow truck to pick up the car and offered to help me get to the nearest Hertz location for a replacement vehicle. But hold onto your hats, folks, because the incompetence didn't stop there.When I finally arrived at the Hertz location in Dallas, they had the audacity to tell me they were closed and left me high and dry with no way to get where I needed to be. Outrageous, right?Left to fend for myself, I had to fork out my own hard-earned cash for an Uber to the DFW location. And guess what? When I got there, exhausted and fed up, they had the nerve to deny me a replacement vehicle because I missed my return time. Can you believe the gall?Long story short, I was stranded in Dallas, forced to cancel my plans in Austin, all because of Hertz's gross incompetence and lack of basic decency.Mark my words, folks—I will never, and I mean never, even think about using Hertz again. And you better believe I'll be spreading the word far and wide to ensure nobody else falls victim to their shoddy service. This was an absolute disgrace, and Hertz should be ashamed of themselves.

I showed up this morning with a reservation I just made on the app and was told there are no cars and haven’t been for anyone booking same day. They did not offer to reimburse for the wasted ride over.

My booking from 10 days before wasn't present on their list when I showed up. I had changed my order to 1 day earlier and it was confirmed but that too wasn't present. Anyways my complaint is about my original reservations which was sold out anyways. Avoid this branch and all hertz at all costs

First off, Jeremiah and Mikayla were great. This rating is for them. They were the reason we didn’t cancel our rental. Hertz had the audacity to knock them for our review, which was upset with hertz; not the phenomenal staff. As I said, Jeremiah and Mikayla are why we didn’t cancel after Hertz rates and hidden fees over doubled the amount we booked at. They did everything in their power to make it right.Jeremiah and Mikayla: 5 stars

Hands down the worst rental experience I’ve ever had. Jeremiah and Makayla rude and completely unprofessional. They lied about Hertz policies. Locked my family and belongings in the vehicle while attempting to scam me out of $1,900 that my insurance personally called them and told them that they would be paying. I will be seeking legal counsel regarding this experience. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Do not rent from any Hertz in the Austin area if you are against sexual harassment. I overheard a most disturbing conversation when I was in there recently. It was between Matt, who I discovered is the district manager, was talking to his employee, Mckayla, and said “I want to pound you in the back, do you think Jeremy and Sophia will hear us?” McKayla did not seem to enjoy the convo and was clearly nervous. If this is who hertz employees as there district manager I can only imagine how disgusting it gets the higher up you go. The cops will be called.

My favorite Hertz HLE located in downtown Austin TX. Great staff who treat me very well and I continue to use this location as it's very convenient to my home. Recently rented a Tesla Model 3 there.

Hertz came through when Enterprise couldn't. Two branches worked in tandem to get me in a vehicle. I appreciate the effort when I desperately needed a vehicle. I wish Hertz was my insurance company's first choice.
