Elevators don’t work and the hotel is 24 stories. You do the math.

Where do I start. We are repeat Hilton guests and have stayed at this location multiple times, traveling all the way from Dallas. Unfortunately, this stay was extremely disappointing and crossed the line into unacceptable and discriminatory treatment.
Parking alone is $68 per night, which is already excessive. When we asked simple questions about the difference between self-parking and valet, we were met with an unpleasant stare instead of basic customer service.
The most disturbing experience occurred Saturday morning when I politely called the front desk to ask if toothpaste was available for purchase. From the moment the receptionist answered, the tone was hostile and dismissive. I was repeatedly interrupted and told, “There’s a store a few blocks down,” despite me explaining that we are unfamiliar with the area.
The situation escalated when the receptionist accused me of prank calling the hotel, claimed they were receiving ICE prank calls and told me to hang up while I repeatedly stated that I was a guest at the hotel. The receptionist then hung up on me.
When I called back to report being disconnected, I was again accused of prank calling. Only after I became upset did the receptionist finally ask for my room number and name. Upon realizing I was, in fact, an actual guest, the receptionist said “whoops” and suddenly changed their tone, attempting to be friendly and sending toothpaste along with a water bottle and extra towels items I did not request.
This interaction was humiliating, unprofessional, and deeply troubling. The assumption that I was prank calling, the refusal to listen, and the dismissive behavior made me feel profiled and discriminated against. No guest should ever be treated this way especially at a Hilton property.
This experience has permanently changed how we view this hotel. We will not be staying here again, and I strongly urge management and Hilton corporate to address this behavior immediately.

No microwave in our room. There was a broken bedside lamp that wouldn’t turn off, the nightlight in the bathroom wouldn’t turn off. There’s a cool master remote thing that’s supposed to control the air conditioner, lights, tv, etc. - it didn’t work at all. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work. Our room had a lovely view of the construction site next door (which you can also hear all day long).
The location is fabulous and the customer service is also great, but the room itself is not worth the money. I thought that by staying at the Hilton we’d get a quality hotel since especially since they charge so much, but the actual room itself is a major letdown. I’ve had nicer rooms at a Comfort Inn and paid less money.
If you’re wanting a nice hotel in the downtown Austin area really do your research. I will not be coming back to this hotel.

They get my 5 stars just because they have this light control panel where you turn off/on all lights without getting off the bed

Had a work party here at the governor's ballroom and it was pristine. The service and food was amazing. The ballroom was very well kept and beautiful. Parking was easy and the hotel location was ideal for downtown.

bad water, no soap in washroom, need to pay $50 for parking

Very bad experience here. The water temp in the shower was not consistent and changes up and down while showering. They didn’t even offer soap for washing hands. We also paid extra $50 for parking because they told us that parking is not included. Won’t recommend living here.

The hotel and staff are wonderful, but it’s about a block in to an area of town that feels unsafe at night. The convention center is under construction across the street as of this review, so when that’s done I expect it will be better.
Over the weekend you can hear local parties/dance venues late into the night.

Coworker found cockroach in room, my shower backed up with hair coming out on my feet (disgusting), air conditioner sounded like a train running in room, remote did not work, another co worker said it sounded like a jack hammer when she was in the shower. When hair got all over my feet, had to towel off and get dressed before properly showered waiting on maintenance to come up and remove silver grid that was packed with black hair underneath! Not a clean place. HVAC filter was coated in dust blowing out into the air I was breathing.

Stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend for 5 nights. I am a Hilton Honors member so I always try and stay at a Hilton property. Very nice hotel, beautiful lobby and central location in downtown. This may not be a good thing though.
On the second night of our stay the fire alarm went off in our room sometime around 4:30 am. We were startled awake and jumped out of bed to get dressed preparing to evacuate. After 15 to 20 seconds the alarm turned off. We had no idea what was going on. They have a speaker announcement system in each room for the fire alarm but there was no announcement that it was a false alarm and everything was fine. Decided to just stay in the room and go back to bed since I assumed they would not cancel the alarm if it was really a fire.
Checked with the desk the next morning and no one knew anything about the alarm. I found this very odd that no one knew about it. When an alarm goes off in a system like this it is not isolated to one room. Never got an answer about the alarm.
Move forward to Friday evening coming back to the room after a night out and there was loud thumping bass resounding in our room and I am guessing most of the rooms facing 6th street. Since I had a couple of drinks I was able to get to sleep.
Saturday evening was a different story, we had an early Sunday morning flight so we were back in our room around 10:00 pm after visiting friends who live locally. The thumping bass was even worse. It went on until I got out of bed at 3:00 am to catch an early flight out of Austin. I did not sleep at all Saturday evening. I knew it would be futile to call the desk since they had no control of what was going on out on 6th street. I was miserable. We informed the front desk on the way out that morning and all they could say was sorry and to make sure to tell about it when I get my satisfaction survey. Obviously not satisfied.
If you decide to stay here you need to ask for a room as far away from the 6th street side as possible. If you plan on staying a Friday and Saturday evening you will have to deal with the noise around the hotel.
As a Hilton Honors member we were supposed to get 2 waters a day in our room. On the 3rd day we asked the front desk and they sent up 4 bottles of water. Should not have had to ask.
I do not think I will ever stay here again.
