I did not stay there but I spoke with Alessia, a front desk person for help. She was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to help me. If I’m ever in Austin, I will stay there just because she was so helpful. And I wasn’t even staying there! Thank you Alessia!

Room was fantastic and the location doesn’t get much better as far as getting around on foot or in a car pretty easily. If I could give the service 6 stars, I would. In particular, Rochelle was over the top awesome. She was kind, very accommodating and, even though she was very busy at times, she wasn’t anything except cool, professional and smiling. We had a great stay.

A front desk staff can make or break your stay. ROCHELLE, who was the evening team member, was super kind and so thoughtful when we asked to change rooms. She then went out of her way to check a breakfast item for me...and she did it with a genuine smile and concern! Great hotel to stay in, right in the heart of the Red River Cultural District!

Holiday Inns are always comfortable. The room was nice & the view was nice. It was more pricey than all of the IHG hotels I’ve visited. There were are few things that warrant a comment in the reviews…Parking Garage:I couldn’t even find the parking garage, it was on E 9th street with an unmarked ominous garage door that you wouldn’t know to enter. There were mostly valet parking spots and you have to go like 4 levels below the hotel to find a regular spot. It cost $30-50 daily to park in the garage. That is unbelievable. There are other parking lots around but they are all paid parking. The garage felt safe but there were only a few signs to direct you to the Holiday Inn Lobby. Signs at every corner/level would be helpful. There were a lot of signs for valet parking… Is valet any cheaper???Elevators:You must use your key to activate the elevator or make your floor selections. I suppose that increases security but there were NO signs in the elevator to say, press your key card here to use the elevator. Kinda makes you feel silly, standing there pushing the button and nothing was happening.Location:This is not a location for guest that wants a quiet room. There is a concert venue or bar across the street and music & cheering could be easily heard in the room. I did not investigate the location. I needed an IHG close to the hospital. I’m not familiar with the city, so I wasn’t expecting the amount of activity around this hotel and for tourist, it would be perfect.Rooms: The rooms are clean & beds are comfortable. AC/heat works well.Nearby activities: Bars!!!Safety: I felt my vehicle was safe in the parking garage.Walkability: Lots of stuff nearby & within walking distance.Food & drinks: Bars!! Maybe food is nearby also.

Did not feel safe at this location and the front desk staff is very unprofessional. They hung up on me 10 times while I was trying to get a copy of my receipt.

This hotel charged us $30 plus tax per night for parking. The parking structure is under ground and first 2 levels are valet parking only. Very high price for very inconvenient parking. Perhaps this is inevitable due to its close to downtown location. In my opinion it would be better to get accommodations a bit outside downtown where room rates are cheaper and they don’t charge for parking.Walkability: There are some homeless folks sleeping and hanging out on nearby streets. They are not disruptive and I did not feel too unsafe walking around. There are some good restaurants and things to see walking distance from the hotel.

Do not come here if you don’t want to get scammed!! They told me twice over the phone and in person when I checked in that the parking fee was going to be taken out of the $100 deposit fee they charge. They charged me for the parking which was $30 a night, and I called to talk to the manager. The manager was rude and unprofessional she did not handle the situation well. I told her her employees were giving false information, so what is she going to do to fix it? She said nothing because she is telling me now how it works. I will not be staying here again if all they do is lie!!

The reception staff were very very polite and kind. We had to wait in the hotel reception for more than an hour after collecting our bags. The staff was nice, and even directed us towards the microwave as we had to heat some food, as well as provide plasticware. The rooms and the breakfast (cinnamon rolls are the best) were nice.

It has been 5 days since I have check-out, and they have not refunded the security deposit of USD100 that they charged when I checked in. I have called them few times, and all they said is to wait 48 hours, then another 3-4 days, then another 4-10 days; giving the reason that upon check out, the system would automatic refund; and it will take that long for the card/finance company to show the transaction. I have stayed in many hotels, but never have i encountered such experience, where they keep holding your refund for so long !. When my card/finance asked to get the ARN number for the refund to double check, the hotel front desk said they do not have such info. How outrageous is that!I have even filed a support case with IHG, and there is no respond /reply as well. Please look into this case the soonest possible. I want my refund soonest possible.Reason why i put 4-star here is to get the attention of the hotel personnel to look into this review.

Reasonably priced. Some local restaurants within walking distance. Service friendly and obliging. Room was clean. Signs of maintenance needed but as expected. Free breakfast. Hit or miss on fruit. All the crockery and cutlery disposable. Gym was clean. Some decent equipment. WiFi poor. Kept dropping out. Uber service good. Comfortable bed. First day no hot water but improved after that. Didn’t try the pool but it was cleaned daily (too cold to check it!!)Rooms: Clean, spacious.Nearby activities: Good restaurants.Walkability: Restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel
