If you reserve it in person, ask for the total with fees. They didn't mention the amenity fee of $28 when I arrived in person to reserve the room. They refunded that though. On the internet they do include all fees before you check out. Overall friendly though, very pet friendly. Coffee was out in the lobby when i went for a refill at 10am, they could run 2 containers to prevent running out. For the price and location, I liked it.

This place is such a vibe! From the moment you arrive to the moment you checkout, you will absolutely want to make this your go to when visiting Austin. Stayed with hubby and two dogs on this stay. Loved the pet friendly atmosphere and the chill vibes throughout our stay. This is my new go to!

The valet to the manager walking the grounds till the wee hours of the night making sure things were in order! We stayed for a staycation one night and it was amazing. You are literally in your own world with the trees and amazing ambience. The housekeeping staff did a great job making sure everything was in perfect order! We also had a drink at the bar and the wait staff/bartenders were awesome! The front desk guy was so helpful and just has a zen calm personality that was overflowing throughout the staff! This was a splurge for us but we will definitely be saving our coins to stay again!!!

The location is absolutely perfect. It’s walking distance to shopping and cutsie restaurants and coffee shops. The layout of the building(s) and rooms are very cool as well. The whole pool area is such a vibe; it felt like we were at a resort. The staff members were all so chill, but also very professional and seemed to be very experienced! Ivy at front desk was our group’s favorite! The only reason I can’t give this place a full 5 stars is a very slight cleanliness concern. I ended up finding two used contact lenses in our room as I was getting ready. However, I will 100% choose Magdalena the next time I come to Austin!

We wanted to love it here so badly but it missed the mark in many ways. I will start with our “upgraded room” overlooked a dozen dumpsters. The trash truck picked them ALL up at 6am which is a pretty unideal way to wake up on vacation. There was also a swim party when we arrived and we were told it was full of UT students who had bought tickets for the afternoon, there is no exercise room, no ice/water access on each floor (it’s 100 degrees you need that), no ac in the elevator, and no robes in our room. We came for a staycation to rest, and it was not restful. The hotel is pretty though- you can tell they really tried!! They just missed the mark on being a “nice hotel.” We much prefer the service and amenities of some nearby hotels.
We won’t be back but if you’re looking for a fun place to party this is probably it! Don’t come to rest!
Saga continued: we are chill so we just laughed. But they gave us late checkout. We tried napping due to our 6am wake up. The housekeepers came TWICE by 11:45am and then somehow the trucks were back and loud! So we rolled with it and got up to go get coffee. When we came back at 12:45pm we were locked out of our room with all of our stuff in it. It was hilarious. We won’t be back but cool spot 🤣

Stay here! Valet is fast and convenient. Just off Congress so it’s not too hectic. Walkable to all the stores and restaurants on Congress. Room is gorgeous. The shower pressure and towels are great. Front desk is super kind. Bar and restaurant below are top tier. The surrounding landscaping is welcoming. Great place to stay if the rate is in your budget.Walkability: Walkable to Congress.

As a wedding planner, I had the absolute best experience working with Hotel Magdalena to help execute our client's wedding this past weekend (4.20.24). From the time they booked the property all the way up until now, the Tuesday following the wedding, every interaction, email, call, meeting and staffer was just amazing! Even with having to pull the rain plan, everything came together so smoothly. The property was beautiful, the rooms are so fun and funky, the valet is kind and accomodating. Every person had a "yes, of course!" way of being and our couple was just so so happy with how everything turned out. During the busy week of SXSW I had to wait a bit longer than expected to check into my room. They were so kind to upgrade me to a suite to rectify any inconvenience. I will absolutely stay here again! Great team and a beautiful hotel.

At time of checkout I expressed our disappointment with the odor of the sheets and the hot shower…. No cold water! The young lady was dismissive!!! Took the keys said ok . Seemed be bother rather than apologize and make sure to correct the issues for next guest. Most definitely needs training in customer service. Great location, views, food and beverages.Nearby activities: Near the capital , river, amazing dining.Walkability: Walking distance to wonderful shopping.Food & drinks: Excellent food and drinks !

This was our first time staying at Magdalena Hotel on South Congress - and it might be my new favorite Bunkhouse property. The building and fit out itself is beautiful, reminded me of a secluded retreat - so calming and zen. We ate at Summer House for happy hour, and ended up staying for dinner because the food and drinks were so good (don't skip the Black Eyed Pea Hummus and Lake House Margarita). Would definitely stay here again!

It is well located, a few minutes from downtown. The property is well maintained, the views are nice, and my room was very clean and comfortable. If I return to Austin I would not hesitate to stay at this nice hotel.
