It’s a very delicious restaurant. I’ve been eating here for 3 years and I’m still full of surprises.

Really good. Highlight was the toothpick lamb by far, loved the steamed chicken in chili oil and tendon in chili oil. Crab roe and tofu, steamed fish with pepper sauce were also good

I often come to this restaurant to eat. The waiters are very smiling and the food is served much faster. The fresh peppers and live fish are definitely their specialty. This is the only restaurant in Austin that has it. You must try it. The steamed pork ribs are also delicious. Many dishes are prepared according to authentic Chinese food methods, and the prices of all dishes are very conscientious [ThumbsUp]

Already quite busy at 5PM, this little hidden gem competes with Three Gorges and other staples of Asian cuisine in northwest Austin. The owner is from Hunan and the head chef from Sichuan and their offerings of both styles are delicious, sharable, and reasonably priced. So far, I've had:Salt Pork Bamboo Shoot and Tofu Skin soup with bok choy: Best shared among 4-6 people. It's a lot of soup for two people. Rich and flavorful with very tender pork. 4.5/5Hunan Stir Fried Pork: Exceptionally flavorful and authentic. Careful, the jalapenos are not de-seeded and really aren't intended to be eaten (I still crunch on some). 4.5/5Mapo Tofu: Might be one of the best Mapo Tofu I've ever had. I was sweating without my body feeling hot, quite an experience. Very flavorful with soft tofu and goes great with rice. 5/5Service will take a while because everything is made to order (20 minutes for our soup, 40ish minutes for the main courses). It's worth it!

The food is so great that I didn't have the time to take pictures. The most authentic Chinese in Austin with a reasonable price. I am going to order again tomorrow!

Ordered hot and sour soup, Mapo Tofu and Dandan noodles. Mapo Tofu had way too many peppercorns and it just overpowered not only the taste of that dish but also the Dandan noodles. Did not enjoy them at all. The soup was just generic. Only one person serving and 30+ minutes wait. Rgis was my second attempt, won't be back.

when in today with the wifey n baby , trying to hopefully get something decent to eat. I'm was completely amazed with there food taste and quality. this place is somewhere I'm definitely making one of my spots, and there's rare because I'm sure a huge critic! the waitress, was also on point helping us choose and what not. her name I believe was Punny. I can't say enough about this restaurant except I can't wait to go back...

I walked over for dinner on a Wednesday night and they were super busy. My food took around 45 minutes to make its way out of the kitchen but it was very worth the wait! The meatballs were large and savory! and my favorite thing by far was the mapo tofu. It was super spicy and made me wanna say "Rejoice, boy!"

The most authentic Chinese food in Austin. But this is not only why I rated them 5 stars. I hands down have never had such a good experience with service here. The server young lady with bangs is the sweetest soul. She made me feel so comfortable and taken care of. I recently visited on a Friday night, the place was full and I waited awhile to get my food. They only have 1 server and 1 chef on such a busy night. The food still tasted amazing. I feel for the staff being so busy and cooking all these people's dishes. I was patient and I'm glad I got to taste the greatest Chinese home style food in Austin. I don't often praise restaurants like this but the way the lady made me feel she is just so amazing. The chef is amazing because he works so hard but they still don't take away from quality. The food is clean, delicious and well-portioned. Best of all, the price is so damn reasonable, especially for Austin. This place is a favorite. Always walk out with a smile.

This restaurant has become my Monday regular. The consistency varies a bit on the same dish. Some days can be a bit more spicy, other days can have too much pepper corn, which makes the dish very numbing to eat. Overall, my coworkers and I enjoyed our visits. What we recommend: mapo tofu, 双椒鸡-serrano pepper with chicken (our new favorite, very spicy but great flavor),My pictures:Toothpicks lambFish with tofuSerrano chickenMapo tofu

This place probably deserves a 4.2 or 4.3, not just 4.0. It's just google map's poor rating system making me give it a 4.Food is the best and most authentic Chinese you can get in northern Austin for a fair price. The value of the food is great compared to other Chinese food in the area, although all Asian food are overpriced in Austin. They can be very slow when they are busy at dinner time. I always order togo so this has not been a huge problem for me. I can see how people criticize the service because yes it is nonexistent and the servers aren't looking happy. There was a time I could hear a cook who was loudly complaining about the pay in Chinese from the kitchen in the back. But hey, nothing beats good food.

Food is good but dirty and too hot inside. Door is broken, so always opened when people go in and out.I’m updating this review. They fixed AC and food still pretty good but they are too slow. I’ve been here several times and always takes too long to get the food. It seems some food they cook only when they got two table portions. They don’t start cook until they get 2nd order for the same food.

Pork belly with green beans stir fried was great! Also had the double spicy chicken. Very spicy but delicious. All portions are large enough for 2 people or stuff 1.
