Jessica at JC Penny Salon at Barton Creek is an extremely talented hair stylist and colorist. Jessica listens to her clients and provides the best advice and guidance. I would give Jessica 10 stars if i could. And Pennys as usual has the most affordable and reasonable prices in town!

My Mom and I have been going to the JC Penney salon for several years. Melanie is our talented hair stylist. She does an excellent job and I would highly recommend her.

I came in for their advertised special for $12 college hair cuts (a special only done in a 2 week period of time) and the lady there just barked at me that 18 was the age limit, told me to go somewhere else, and that their cheapest hair cut was 40$ with their tier 3 salon experts...
This wasn't today, this was last Wednesday. I'm just in shock still by what I thought was a SNL skit but was actually real life. She had issues and I would really look into this if this stores salon has any redeemable future.

Asked for soft flowy bangs and got lord farquaad bangs instead. Then when I was upset the manager came and said it was what I wanted??? Then had an argument with my mother, which is ridiculous. Put down your pride and respect paying customers. Never came back it’s not even worth it after they charge you extra for an expensive conditioner you didn’t even ask for. Hope that manager gets fired i’m just upset you talked to my mother like that.
Honestly a shady business surprised I even came back.

College students who can show college ID, age limit 18?
I'm impressed that the woman at the front desk turned down a service when they were dead without business.
People graduate high school at 18. The advertisement does not show an age limit.
Then she misheard me and wanted Driver's License and College ID for me to show I was 18.
Was this lady on drugs? I'm 30 and a college student. Excuse me for following the ad.

I asked for 1 inch to be cut off, took 3 minutes, I was charged $50. I asked about the price because that was a little ridiculous I thought. I was rudely told at the end that I could have asked for a cheaper artist. And now looking at it, it's so uneven and she didn't even cut an inch off.

I asked for more brown on my overgrown blonde hair that had at least a 1 1/2 inch overgrown brown roots. I also asked for brown lowlights. The stylist did a brown root smudge and toned my blonde hair. Although it wasn’t the worst that I’ve seen it was not what I asked for. If I wanted to touch up my roots I would have asked for blonde roots. She overcharged me for an extra conditioner and for an eyebrows
service that never occurred. She didn’t pay attention to fix the receipt. The receptionist assisted me with this after I had left and noticed the mistakes.
There systems are so old (per management) they need a receipt in order to help you. What happens when you lose the receipt? One is simply screwed over for services that the stylist could not do correct.
I have used JC Penny salon in the past but will never again especially due to the lack of not knowing the clients as a small shop would. This stylist ruined the experience for me. This was a well deserved gift to have my hair done like I wanted it.
Melanie, this is why people probably don’t want to use JC Penny salon. I hope this answers your questions. If you didn’t know how to do my hair like I wanted you should have passed me on to someone that did.

The worst haircut I have ever had in my life . And for $30 after tip. So many strands longer than others sticking out. So uneven for a basic men’s haircut. Incredibly bad job . I will not go back to them to fix it because it will probably be worse .will have to go somewhere else.

Stylist: Jessica did a great job, cutting and styling my hair. Every time I go there she is very pleasant and professional. I see here every 3 months for a cut and blow dry.

Please remove textured services from your menu. If rod sets are not something that can be completed on the clientele it is meant to serve...it should not be listed. A salon should not advertise services they cannot provide. I was gracious at the moment as I understand they are independent stylists working for JC Penney, my stylist was running behind, and had 3a-3b curls... I showed them pictures AND how to clips on Pinterest. But left with damp hair, as the rods were not placed with any symmetry or direction which prevented adequate drying. If you have textured hair, this is NOT it. I remember my elders going to the Penney salon for a roller set, and JCP has been pushing marketing for the services...hence my attempt. When I tell you that the back and crown of my head was still damp, my ends were as if they were not in the rod, and again no symmetry or direction. DO NOT DO IT. The color, cut and style before me was beautiful, so it seemed like they were doing something they were told to attempt.
Requested style: a medium flexi-rod set.

Tracked down my amazing stylist! Go see ANA! She fixed my home-botched bangs with a flourish! I have C3 mixed frizz bomb hair, that I currently am wearing straight but I met her years ago when she fixed me up after a seriously botched relaxing job. I go to her ONLY. She is amazing. Go see Ana for anything you could ever need! I've used her for 7-8 years.

Emilly was amazing to work with! She really listened to my daughter’s needs and wants around her hair and the style she was looking for. She consistently checked with her to make sure she was on the right path, and it was greatly appreciated because my daughter has had bad experiences in the past. The prices for reasonable and the service was friendly! Thank you Emily!
