Either customer service is terrible or they are going out of business. I paid at the end of July and have not received any food at all. I have emailed and called...nothing. I would give a zero if I could.

Another CSA customer chiming in to say something is wrong here. I've gotten several email reminders to pick up my box during the August "hiatus" and in September. The website has even let me customize my box and swap out vegetables, only JBG is missing from the farmer's market at Lakeline every week. Same as the others, I've left voicemails and sent emails that bounced back. Nothing has been posted to social media and no communication has been made to CSA members. I'm super disappointed and bewildered as to what happened to make everyone at the farm fall off the face of the earth.

Long-time customer (3+ years). I echo what others have said: quality wasn't great in the spring. The sudden "August break" was not good business practice. I've purchased from local farms before, and they can always predict a fallow or resting time and provide the closure dates well in advance. Finally, I feel sorry for anyone who signs up now for a subscription on their website. It appears that they are still taking new subscriptions. That is a deceptive business practice. So is sending me an email on August 31 saying my veggie box will be available for pick up on Sept. 1. There was no box for me or any other customer at my pick-up location. An all-around mess. I have started a credit dispute with my credit card company, as JBG does not answer calls or emails right now. New people: do not order from them. Check the Yelp reviews. They are not providing the vegetables to their existing customers.

Similar experience to other reviewers. Long time customer and received an email a month ago that deliveries would be suspended until September. Got the email yesterday about resuming services, but no delivery was made. No way to contact them for a refund either. Incredibly shitty way to dissolve your business.

Was a customer for a long time, but sad to say this business seems to have imploded. No CSA deliveries for weeks (despite emails saying they will be delivered), email bounces back undeliverable, and phone mailbox is full. Maybe another iteration of this can be successful in the future, but for now do not subscribe to this business, something has gone super wrong here. Do continue to support other, honest local farms and CSAs!

I have used them in the past and love them. However, after having my monthly payment drafted I received an email that all deliveries would be suspended for four weeks. Yesterday I received an email telling me that there would be a pick up today. I go to the location only to find the boxes and cooler still sitting there from last July. No one is answering the phones. Voicemail is full. No social media looks like it has been updated since July.I understand that things happen, But they need to keep their customers informed. And if they are out of business they need to refund our money.

I wanted to try a CSA service and chose JBG for a 10 week period. Disappointed on so many levels. Biggest complaint is they don't deliver when promised. I'm on week 9 and they've either been late (several hours) or not delivered at all for 4 of the 9 deliveries. When I e-mailed the staff to complain, I was given the response that the driver claimed he was early, and I must be mistaken. Second, their greens arrive like they've been cooked in an oven; all dried out and wilted, probably caused by being in a non-refrigerated truck all day. Some might not find this a problem, but they delivered too much. I wanted the smallest box (individual size) b/c it's just my wife and me. As an example, the box might contained 5 eggplants, and 8 bell peppers. We can't eat it that quickly. Then the next week might be more eggplants and peppers, when I still have loads left over from the week before. After 8 weeks, we had so much eggplants, peppers, carrots, radishes, and beets we couldn't keep up. But no veggies I'd expect in the summer, like green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, or squash. Its like they have a very limited garden. I'm not renewing.

Something's not right here- I don't recommend subscribing at this time. My last two deliveries have not shown up, no one is answering emails and both voice mailboxes are full. I'm not the only one- there are threads on Facebook with similar experiences. Wait til this current crisis sorts itself out.

We are so grateful for Johnson's Backyard Garden! We always look forward to our CSA box and we don't have any complaints. Delicious veggies, and great quality!

I took a class here and was able to then grow the garden below for 9-10 months from sprouts and transplants from the farm. So in full conclusion, their classes work. They also had me out to work for a few days. It was such a fun experience.

Great pillar in our dinner. They grow some good veggies.

Make sure you get there at least an hour before they close at the farm or you will be turned away Tough lesson to learn after you've already driven an hour to get there.

I like the idea of supporting community agriculture and we have other experiences with CSA before as well. We like the web experience of JBG - easy to modify and pause when needed, although for one time the modification of our box we made online didn't actually happen completely. Problems we have found: in the first box we got, the sweet potatoes were already rotten; over the 7 weeks, variety of vegetables is extremely limited: (really little and less than quality) sweet potatoes, kales, collard greens, lettuces, carrots, radishes, etc. it got so repetitive that it's hard for us to plan meals around them. For us, it is not an ideal package: given that the quality of vegetables isn't always super fresh or good picks, we don't feel it's worth the premiums we paid.
