Great location, Austin Celtic festival was nice. Rory was lovely! Just wish someone had figured out a way to get some real food there, rather than corn dogs and fritto pies!? The Irish wolfhound's were AWESOME!?

I took their Backyard Chicken Keeping class, and it was amazing! If you are brand new to chickens, it's a lot of good information. There is an initial classroom section, and then you get to walk around the farm and meet different chickens in their historical coops. The current price is $50 for 4 hours, and I was lucky enough to have a class of one! This is obviously not the only class they offer (Um... Blacksmithing, anyone?!), but if you want a sneak peak at the farm and to actually get to go into the chicken coops, this is for you!The food at the general store is mostly wrapped sandwiches and bottled drinks. However, I enjoyed my sandwich, and I would anticipate paying more at a place like this versus a small store or (obviously) making it myself.I will be bringing the fam and others back!

There was insufficient food in the market section. The farm covers a very large area. It is impossible for the elderly to walk everywhere. I wish there was a trailer for the farm tour.Other than that, the historical houses were nice.3 of them were closed. We couldn't visit them.We went to the office and paid for two adult entrance tickets. But many people did not go to the office and pay for the ticket.

Wow! This place is magical. Worth every penny. You can tell a lot of planning, a lot of work, went into this place to make us safe, family friendly, and just amazing. Some serious crafty, creative people. I'm super impressed. Parking is guided and it's all dirt. So know your car is going to get dirty. Lots of venders with cotton candy, some nachos and other items, Jenna art, pumpkin carving, and so many opportunities for family photographs. The walk around the whole park is long, but you're strolling along slowly so it doesn't really feel long. For the most part the ground is pretty flat, but it's dirty, dusty, a few small rocks here and there. Fantastic place to go to get into the spirit of the fall and Halloween season.

My son and I had an amazing time during the blacksmithing 101 class. Ken is an incredible teacher - very patient and explains techniques thoroughly. Can't wait to take the more advanced classes!

Came for pumpkin nights and it was so cool! There is parking onsite and upon walking in there are food trucks. Lots of photo ops throughout and the walk way is lonnnggg! There are different themes throughout too which was really cool. My favorite was the Harry Potter one. There was really intricate pumpkin sculpting and a fire dancer act.

Great experience to learn about the history in Austin. However, I am disappointed that they advertise its wheelchair accessible. I found that a lot of the houses have high thresholds and it’s hard to get a wheelchair over them or some of the ramps aren’t flush with the ground so there is a bump to get into the ramp that is difficult. It’d be nice if they went around and fixed this.

Took the fundamental blacksmith class here. The experience was good. Teacher was probably not one for people who are easily offended. But the lessons were good. There was a Witch Fest at the farm when we went, which was really interesting.

I took the Blacksmithing 1.0 with Ken and it was amazing! My young son was able to work alongside me and we had the best time. I definitely want to do more classes there.

This a great value for money for families who like to walk, explore and think and talk about what it was like in "the olden days." The official website can be found under the name pioneerfarms.org or by searching Jourdan Bachman Pioneer Farm. Online you can get a printable guide booklet that will give you details about all the homes and buildings you'll see as well as questions to use as talking points. I visited with DIL and 3 kiddos age 7 and under Thanksgiving weekend. It was the perfect choice for stretching our legs and getting some fresh air. We had a great visit despite the chilly temps (mid to upper 50s) and some mud along the trail after recent rains. The wide gravel paths windng throughout the 90 acres took us back in time to the 1800s. Highlights for us included the Tonkawa encampment along the creek.
