Kari has been doing my hair for over 15 years. Her knowledge about the science and art of hair color is impeccable, impressive and professional. She is also honest to a fault with her opinions and extremely mindful about maintaining the integrity of the client’s hair during color process and other treatments. I have jokingly referred to her as the “ hair Nazi” because if she believes it is a wrong color choice I’ve wanted or will cause damage to my hair she will politely decline to do it and provides a thorough explanation of why and then offers alternatives. She is soulful, introspective, creative, positive, and has a wicked sense of humor!

I have been seeing Kari for years and she is amazing. It's hard to find someone who is good at both color and cuts, but Kari is amazing at both. She had to change business names when closing her salon and going out on her own again, so you may know her as Karu Salon where she still has a lot of reviews you can read.

I've been getting my hair done by Kari for over 10 years. She is great! She knows her craft and works well with me to create cuts and styles that are flattering and that I will enjoy without having to spend lots of time managing my hair. She is great at color as well. And, when I'm willing to allow my curly hair to do its thing, she is able to suggest techniques and products to allow the curl to work for me and I enjoy it. She is very talented and experienced and knowledgeable and listens well. I trust her and I know that she gets me so my hair always feels great.

Kari is an awesome colorist and stylist! I have been a client for two years. Kari’s speciality is color. She does an amazing job with highlights, lowlights and all over color. Her haircuts are amazing too.
She is very responsive to her client’s needs and a great listener. I am so happy that I found her and will continue to be her client as long as I am in the Austin area.

It’s hard to find a stylist who is good with blonde color. Kari is not just good, she is excellent! She cares about the color, shine, and health of the hair. Her salon is conveniently located and offers a comfortable environment. Kari is always professional and pleasant.

I have been going to Kari for 4 years, she is the best hair dresser I've ever had. She has an amazing ability to access color, tones and face structure. Sometimes when I've arrived, I've had a clear idea of what I'd like and she executes it perfectly, most of the time I have *full* confidence that she knows what will looks best on me and I simply say, do whatever you think is best. I've gotten to know Kari other the years including my detours to other salons while traveling during the summer and I love when I find myself back in her hands, her chair and her creation.

As someone with curly hair I have had many a terrible trip to the salon that ended with tears, but not with Kari! I spent years going to curly hair specialists who did a decent haircut but I often ended up with streaky, overbleached highlights. I finally decided to seek out a color specialist and am so glad I did! ???Kari gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve had in a while (and for the curly girls out there I used to go to the Devacurl flagship salon in NYC!), kept my length which is always scary with curls (!) but gave me some nice layers. I had a couple of previous highlight “situations” that I was asking Kari to help remedy. She did an in person consultation prior to my appointment, and then was so gracious with me to talk it through again before starting on my color as I was super nervous!! She did a treatment that brought back the health and softness to my hair as it was dry and brittle from being over processed. The highlight placement is just what I wanted! I’m excited to keep going to Kari to see where we get as we continue to un-do the damage done before. She’s an artist!! Thank you, Kari! ??☀️?

I’ve been going to Kari for many years now, and have yet to find a colorist as skilled as she is. She matches coloring to bring out your natural skin/eye color, always accommodates any special requests beautifully, and even took care of me when I was pregnant and hot in the chair (found a smock with way more air flow for me). She now cuts my hair too, and again, does an amazing job always. I cannot recommend her enough and always leave feeling happy and renewed. Go visit Kari asap!Services: Haircut

I had a fabulous experience with KaRu!! I am new to Texas and was stressed and anxious about finding a stylist who could give me a great cut that suited my face and help me start to make progress with my very damaged hair. I booked a consult with Kari and KNEW within the first 5 minutes I had found who I was looking for! I trusted her advice, opinion and expertise and booked my appointment. I am now walking around with a haircut I LOVE, hair that feels healthier then it has in months, and a colour that still lets me feel like I am having fun with my hair! Kari is such a gift. She so easily connects with you, and understands exactly what is going to make you look, but even more so, feel beautiful. Her ability to do anything with hair is truly beyond words, and even more so, her natural gift with color, and how it can shape your day to day life, is truly just incredible. She isn't someone who needs to be explained what your looking for, she is someone who has this natural ability to be able to connect with who you are, and give you the most beautiful essence, inside and out. The reason I love her so much, is because of her energy. She has this way about her, of filling you inside with everything you need, and that reflects in your hair, when you walk away. Getting my hair done by her, always feels like such a gift, because I walk away each time with amazing hair, but it's the feeling she leaves you with. She was born with the ability to turn anything inside you that believes you aren't enough, all the way around, and transform the way you feel inside. The beautifulness of the hair she will leave you with, is just a reflection of that. She's a one in a million kind of person, and the energy she adds to your life is truly irreplaceable.
