We have fewer and fewer plant nurseries in the Austin area. Many of the ones we have are specialty nurseries. If you are just looking for some pretty, healthy plants to brighten up your yard or fill out your vegetable garden, if the big chain stores even bother to stock anything it's sold out almost immediately. And then there's this place. Calloway's has a beautiful variety of gorgeous, healthy plants, and their prices compare well to others. They have friendly, helpful people who go out of their way to make sure you find what you're looking for. And on top of all this, they offer a terrific loyalty plan. Gardeners, this is your happy place.

Great selection. However, I was really put off by the odd behavior of the young man at the checkout counter this morning. I’m usually not a complainer but this bothered me. I called to ask if he had white mums. I could barely understand him as he talked so fast. When I asked him if the mums were white, because I couldn’t hear what he was saying, he said “I just told you that”. I told him that I was sorry but I didn’t hear that. He seemed a little embarrassed. I went to get the mums within an hour and when I was checking out, it was obvious that I was the person asking about the white mums when I had white mums in the cart. He then asked me something about the order and said rather snarkily “I didn’t hear you”. I have a thick skin and can let a lot slide, but not only did I feel mocked, but I wondered what he’s saying to other customers as well. Not good to have this behind the counter.

Nicely kept business with friendly, service oriented staff but we bought the mushroom compost and were disappointed to find that there are way too many sticks, twigs, and bark. It looked more like mulch than compost. I would definitely avoid buying again.

While traveling in Mesquite, Texas, I wandered into a Calloway’s and was immediately drawn in by all the beautiful plants. I spotted three wax myrtle shrubs that I fell in love with, but getting them back to Austin wasn’t going to be easy. When I got home, I stopped by the Calloway’s in Cedar Park and asked if they could have the wax myrtles shipped from Mesquite. The staff was so kind and happy to help—they put in the request right away.
There was a small hiccup along the way, but they made sure everything was taken care of, and the wax myrtles arrived just as promised. When I came in to pick them up, Maria and Mike greeted me with big smiles and went out of their way to help me load them up. On top of that, they gave me a quick and super helpful tutorial on how to prune the shrubs so I can train them to grow into tree form.
It was such a pleasant experience, and I’m so thankful for their help and kindness. I look forward to many more visits to this beautiful nursery!

Terrible service. Spent months and months and months trying to get them to special order me a hibiscus and they just kept giving me the run around. Angelita the general manager told me they ordered it but hasn't shipped. I ended up calling the wholesale company Aris myself only to be told they never received an order request from Calloways Cedar Park. Don't waste your time with them. Aris Sales is the dealer of hibiscus. I've emailed as well and no one seems to be interested in responding or fixing this issue.

Didn't think I'd enjoy a garden place as much as we did. It's the best north Austin / Cedar Park spot to spruce up your yard, year-round. A but cluttered and you may need help if you're looking for a particular plant, but there's a good chance they'll have it at a fair price (and with a decent warranty).
