My husband and I switched from Equinox to Lifetime in January of this year, and we are so glad we did. The offerings Lifetime has are amazing - we love the variety of classes, especially GTX (like orange theory) and Alpha (kind of like intro to CrossFit!). We also love the amenities- especially the dry sauna and steam room!I also had a goal of losing body fat for 2024, so I hired a trainer here. I have always been pretty athletic so I never saw myself hiring a trainer, but I am sooo glad I did. If you are looking to dial in your nutrition, get healthy and get your body looking right, I HIGHLY recommend the trainer McKay Stewart! He specializes in nutrition and fat loss. I have been working with him for 7 weeks now and have already seen shocking results. He takes very detailed notes about your body assessment (lean muscle mass, body fat, measurements) and does checkins each week to track your progress. It has been tough to stay disciplined, but I’ve stuck to what he’s told me to do and am so impressed with the results I’m seeing. When I started with him I had 89 lbs of body fat (terrible I know) and in less than 2 months I am down to 55 lbs of body fat!! I have lost almost 20 lbs total due to putting on muscle mass at the same time. It’s very difficult to recomp your body by losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time, but McKay has the process nailed down! The workouts are tough, the nutrition requires discipline, but it’s sooo worth it. He is the trainer you want to hire!!

If you don’t have kids/don’t need the amenities like day care etc.. it’s a bit of a rip off. 200 dollars for a single membership ?I switched over to another one down the street for 10 bucks and the gym itself (workout area) is nicer/larger . If you have a large family, play pickle ball/basketball , this place makes sense .For just a single membership, it’s overpriced .

It's SO crowded. If you work a normal job and want to work out at normal hours, you will have to literally have to WAIT for a PARKING SPOT, TREADMILL, and EVERYTHING. Every single spots to workout were full. It is literally a zoo.

Please do something about the first two negatives.Positives:1. Towel service is pretty good.2. Friendly staff.Negatives:1. Sauna needs repairs, instead they rigged the temperature gauge to read the same temp. (Update: broken again)2. They used to keep the outdoor pool open at night, now they close it at 7pm. Many people liked utilizing cold plunging in the winter after work.3. Exercise equipment is average and a bit dated. You can get better for less elsewhere.

Been going since it opened. What has changed is the combination of promoting health while selling ads for profit to highly processed food manufacturers like McDonald's and Domino's pizza on the TVs all over the gym.

Outdoor pool closed until early January due to a broken gate that was discovered only on an unannounced inspection by the city. I would like to say this location is badly managed, but in truth it's basically unmanaged, as they haven't had a GM for months now. I've been a member for 10+ years and spend $1,500+ a month on my membership and personal training. Rates keep going up as quality of the facilities and services declines, with apparently no area management or corporate accountability. If not for my training relationship, I would cancel my membership and join the newly opened Crunch or Gold's Gym, both just across the street.

Love lifetime and have been coming here since 2011. Recently I had an incident where I tore my tricep tendon and was out for 3 months. Once I was cleared I was lost on what type of workouts I should be doing. A trainer by the name D Mckay approached me and saw I was having trouble. He offered training and assistance all while protecting my arm and building its strength back. I’ve been working with him for a month and some change now, and he’s changed my approach on workouts and nutrition in a good way. It’s been a hard road but I’m no longer inflamed, fatigued, and have lost weight due to his assistance and accountability.

This gym is great. From the staff to the equipment to the employees at LifeCafe. Abigail P. In the cafe will greet you with a friendly smile and create for you one of the best shakes in town! Well rounded gym. Plenty for all.

Overall great gym! I come here for clean towels and hot tubs/saunas more than anything. Both of which are offered by no other gyms in Austin from what I understand. Even some other lifetime gyms! Aside from that the gym does have some crowding during peak time. And by some, I mean a lot. “Luxury” gyms in Austin are very popular and there should be more Lifetimes. Aside from that, staff is great, new renovations are nice with a new workspace, responsiveness to inquiries is fast, classes are expertly led. The list goes on for what all is right here. -1 star for crowding and missing basics like bar clamps, cracked equipment padding, equipment unavailable during classes during peak times.

I worked with a trainer there named McKay. First off WOW! It’s hard to find a trainer as well rounded as him and experienced. 10/10 would recommend. Give him a try! You will feel and see the results.

Life time is my go to gym. It offers multiple workout options and has good trainers at S. Austin location. I recently trained with Duncan McKay, he made a fitness plan to help me attain my fitness goals. He was supportive and took time to understand my limitations and strengths. I strongly recommend him!

When looking at the cost / value this gym provides it leaves a lot to be desired. Regardless of the time of day this location is always busy and overcrowded. It’s obvious they oversold memberships with very little consideration for how current members would be impacted. You are better off going to the Arboretum location which is managed so much better.

Worried and annoyed that several small children ages 8 or 10 were playing around the gym equipment with no adult supervision, huge liability and never allowed in any gym I’ve been to. I let the desk know and they said they would walk around. A few minutes later and the children are still climbing on the equipment like it’s a jungle gym. Hopefully no one got hurt, but this was troubling to witness. The personal trainer I got was ignorant about about building a plan and wildly ignorant about nutrition, turns out he got a degree in sociology or something, 10 years ago I remember being told that personal trainers there had master degrees in health science, obviously times have changed, the club is mid, and overpriced, might as well be at golds or 24hour for what you get here.

THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO PLAY BASKETBALL ANYMORE. Better grab an ascot and sweater vest to go with your pickle ball racket. Genuinely a bummer. When I started going to lifetime the sell was it’s amenities for me as well as its hours. Losing 24hrs is understandable since Covid, but the worst part about the current version of both Lifetime gyms in Austin is the blatantly obvious move to more or less remove the basketball courts as well as the “basketball players”. All gyms used to have two open basketball courts but now pickle ball has taken over 1 court, and they (very frustrating) use the other basketball court as a daycare now. There is probably about a 3 hour time window you have to play basketball here. It sucks. And to be honest it feels like some kind of weird passive aggressive class warfare to get “certain” people out of the gym. This gym costs way too much for half the things here not to be available. I just find it odd because lifetime used to be the best place to play basketball and they are very obviously trying to move away from making “certain people” comfortable here. It’s not a country club, it’s a gym. Go back to being a good gym.
