Each time I've visited this gallery, long thought has gone into installing the works they display. The sense of space and interaction between the visitor and work is always effective in making you feel you're moving through the work.
This gallery is within a block of a couple other great galleries, as well as restaurants and bars, making for an enjoyable afternoon. There is also free parking in front of the gallery and on streets north of it.

Small downtown art gallery. Seems to focus on modern artists with a national, even international, reputation, which makes it a bit unique for Austin.

Solid work overall. It is well run and doesn't feel all-too-friendly. You can walk around, look at the work and leave. They seem to curate well and have great lighting.
