McKinney Falls State Park is a beautiful and neat park located in the middle of Austin, close to downtown yet offering a more rural camping area. It provides a great hiking and biking experience with awesome trails everywhere, featuring huge rocks and boulders to climb, cool rock overhangs, and limestone rock to walk on. The park has both upper and lower waterfalls, which are small but serene, and Onion Creek is clear and lovely for enjoying water fun, swimming, and fishing. It is a fun time in nature with plenty of site seeing, including some neat historical landmarks. The park is small enough for a short adventure but offers big entertainment with many features for both little kids and big kids to play. Visitors can enjoy a picnic, and there is an informative visitor center. Friendly and welcoming staff and park hosts add to the experience. While most campsites do not have sewage, and there can be some noise from nearby planes, the park is a highly recommended and beautiful place that feels like home for a great time outdoors.
Amazing hiking trails. Beautiful scenery and you can hear the falls as you hike.

This is such a beautiful park! And the best hiking experience we've had in Austin so far. We got here around 10am on a Saturday and it was not nearly as crowded as we were expecting given *Austin.* The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed the visitors center too. Overall we had a great time (:
