I have had so many experiences at Midas. I had a great rapport with Darius and I thought I found a mechanic shop for life. I bragged about the good atmosphere and friendly staff. Now that I have spent thousands of dollars there, I REGRET IT! I took my Honda Accord and drove off with the check engine still on after a month and $4,000 added to my credit card. I had no choice but to buy a new care My husband took his Envoy there and was told he needed a head gasket after spending $900 on bull. Then took it down to Gene Johnson and it was the radiator hose. I tried to give them another chance but why did I do it? I overheard the Manager, Rick, tell someone they can make up policy as they see fit and it does not have to be in writing. Do not buy Groupon for oil changes because the manager stated he can make up policies regarding accepting them after the 1st use. I asked why is it not on Groupon's fine print or in the store, he said he doesn't have to put it in writing. When asked about litigation that could come from this self-proclaimed policy he seemed unbothered by the idea. Repeatedly reminded me about refusing service to anyone because he is a franchise. If they can make up policies then they can make up anything. Please be cautious when they state they have found repairs. This was so horrifying to hear as mechanics have a huge responsibility with your vehicle and your life.

Rick at the front desk is a boss. He's friendly and transparent. There are a million mechanics I could go to in Austin, but I keep coming back to this location because I trust Rick will ensure I get what I need at a fair price.
