Took my first class at Mod today and it was challenging yet still fun! Ale was a great instructor and offered plenty of modifications and form corrections which was great for me as a newbie. I’ll be back!

Pros: Great ambience, fun exercisesCons: If you’re a beginner like me, I wouldn’t recommend them. You are mostly by yourself, the instructor shouts out instructions and works out in the front with 20+ people in the room. Nobody is watching your form or whether you are following instructions correctly. No one is even giving you instructions for form. An intermediate knowledge is just assumed. This is how I ended up injuring myself— felt amazing during the first leg of the class, thought I was following instructions until my knee started to hurt. Went back home and couldn’t walk without considerable pain for the next few days. Ended up missing the next class and was charged a no-show fee, lol.I wish someone had counselled me about the nature of their classes or just about dos and don’ts for a beginner.

I love this studio! The classes are hard and the teachers are motivating. Good class times offered for my schedule. I’m hooked!

I got to come to Mod Fitness during my extra semester at UT and I loved it so so much. I got to work with instructors: Kelly, Jess, Paige, and Christine. Each instructor made their class unique and fun and I always left feeling like I got a great workout. I'm now moving and am so sad I don't get to workout here anymore, I have a huge void to fill. They were so personable and really got to know me, Jess even learned my nickname which was nice and Christine never failed to ask me about my day. Anyways, this is my all time favorite barre studio and am so sad I won't be able to return, I highly recommend this studio to anyone.

Classes are great. Not flexible when comes to membership: I have membership for a year now and going to out of country for 2 weeks and unfortunately they can't frizz my account during those times. I fine it inflexible. But other than that, classes and instructors very nice.

I have taken barre classes at MOD before, and yesterday took my first MOD Dance Cardio+ Barre with instructor Jennifer Wooten. WOW!!! I have NEVER had that much fun packed into one hour - if I hadn't woken up this morning with the best of sore muscles, I might have thought I forgot to excercise yesterday. Jennifer is a powerhouse of inspiration. I can't dance like her, (which didn't seem to take anything away from the workout,) and watching her added a great visual dimension to the class. I'm ready for the next MOD Dance Cardio class!

I had an amazing first experience here! Sounds almost cheesy, but the atmosphere here is bursting with light, literally and metaphorically. The space is full off big windows and my instructor Paige was so attentive and encouraging.

I've been coming to MOD on and off for 3yrs now and it's by far: the best Barre I've studio I've been to! And I've been to many, all over the US! It's my happy place when in Austin. THE STUDIO: The Burnet location is cute and chic. It provides parking in the back and there's ample free street parking. It has 2 bathrooms, no showers! But the BEST part is they provide Child Care while you Barre! The kid's room is upstairs, and it's super cute! The care takers are so sweet and loving towards the little ones. I've only used the service myself only a few times but all the kids are easily entertained by the toys and books. Most importantly, the studio is CLEAN! It never has that wet/musty smell many other studios cling too. I dislike that they have (mostly) stopped using the mats and now we workout on the floor. While it's cushioned and sanitized, I still prefer the mats. Now, the mats are provided with the membership. It's simply grabbing one, but sometimes classes tend to fill up and the mats make it feel like we're taking more space. THE CLASSES: Wow!! Each instructor is so different and so amazing and so challenging in their own way! No 2 classes are alike! Seen way too many studios do this! Because no class is "repeated", you workout your entire body but in different ways! This way not only do you not get bored of the same classes over and over, but your muscles/body doesn't plateau. They will always introduce themselves to new comers to insure they know of injuries or work with you on modifications or postures. The instructors have their own routines and can and will customize it for you. They always offer modifications and alternative poses/positions. They never call you out for modifying, and in fact celebrate that you listen to your body! (I personally hate the boot camp type of instructors! - If I need to stop and stretch for 5min, I will! And I don't need anyone tell me to get back into the position/routine.) Instructors here are very talented and want to get to know you, they want to be sure you succeed, grow and find not only your healthier body, but healthier YOU. I know that's cheesy, but this is the only place I've found all the instructors actually care about proper posture, proper form, wether it's modified or not. There is a wide variety of members. Many pregnant or with injuries and they have found themselves here. I only wish I didn't travel so much so I could do more classes here.

This place is great! I've been coming to this studio off and on for about a year and a half through classpass, but finally just bought a membership. The instructors here are awesome, everyone is friendly, and I always get a fantastic workout!

Can't say enough good things about MOD. I have been a big fan of barre over the years and MOD is by far the best workout with the most awesome instructors. The Burnet location also has a great childcare program!!!

Mod Fitness is my favorite place for Barre classes, and the instructors are PHENOMENAL!! They are not only technical in their explanations of exercises, but they also keep classes fun and are consistently creative w new methods for teaching. The crowd that patronizes Mod is a very friendly and in shape group as well
