I was first introduced Dr. Stovall in 2016 where I was admitted to the hospital due to a back pain. He immediately identified that it was Sciatic nerve pain. Right from the get go he told me that I needed a surgery that there was no other choice. I tried to delay it by resting and taking pain killers, but it was all in vain. At last I surrendered to the surgical knife. Right after the surgery the pain went away. After a couple of days, I was able to go home and resume my normal life.
This time in 2025 I was playing with my grandchildren. It looked like I was excited and acting like them and pinched my nerve.
Guess what, I did not look for anyone, except Dr. Stovall.
He took me in and embarrassed me with his compassion. In no time I was up and walking and carrying on MY PT.

Excellent surgeon with very pleasant bedside manner. Dr. Stovall is conservative in his surgery approach and ensures his patients are provided with all necessary information to make the right decision for themselves. I have had 2 back surgeries with Dr. Stovall and have had ZERO complications, with a successful recovery. I wouldn’t go to anywhere else when it comes to my spine.

Dr. Stovall saved my life in 2016 when he fixed my back. I was in so much pain I didn't think I could continue with life. No amount of pain medication could get me out of pain, not even fentanyl. He had to clean up the previous doctor's mess too.
When I started having neck pain from arthritis I had no question in my mind who I was going to. I would not even get a 2nd opinion on his recommendation.
Another thing I really appreciate is he isn't knife happy. He gives options. If you choose not to have surgery do dosen't get upset like other surgeons.
His staff if great too and the waiting area has a huge salt water aquarium that is relaxing to look at.
I highly recommend Dr. Stovall if you are having spinal issues and are considering surgery.

Dr. Stovall changed my life!
If you’re dealing with a herniated disc, I highly recommend Dr. Stovall. I was referred to him by a neighbor, and I’m so grateful I found him. He truly knows what he’s doing — his expertise and confidence immediately put me at ease. I trust him completely with my health, and I appreciate that he’s honest about when surgery is needed and when it isn’t. He is phenomenal, and I can’t thank him enough for giving me my quality of life back.

He never really did anything for me except xrays, & ordered an MRI. And he walked out on my appointment with him. Never again.

Dr. Stovall is the best! He listens, and really cares. The staff at Central Texas Brain & Spine are also very friendly and caring. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

I appreciated the thoughtful and constructive discussion I experienced with Dr. Stovall. While this is a neurological surgery practice, Dr. Stovall kept an open mind regarding a surgical resolution.
