Too many great things to say about Sovay and her entire salon team. On top of always leaving the salon feeling beautiful, she took the time to get to know me personally, she doesn’t insist you buy certain products, she has showed me how to style my hair that I’ve struggled with for years, she (and her crew) are so pleasant to chat with while she is working on my hair. She is especially amazing with my long Asian hair!! I quite literally love her. So real and so talented at her work.

I cannot recommend Sovay enough! Not only is she’s incredibly talented when it comes to both cuts and color, but the level of customer service is unmatched. Every time I visit, Sovay takes the time to really listen to what I want and offers helpful suggestions that always result in the perfect look. Whether it’s a bold new color or just a fresh cut, I always leave feeling amazing.

I love Savoy! Have been going for the last year and she truly has transformed my hair. I went to her with greenish tint from an over toned highlight job and she fixed it in one go! I’ve never looked or felt better.

I’ve been a client at Salon Sovay for almost 4 years now, so this review is overdue.
I’ve had some pretty terrible hair experiences so I’m super cautious and get major anxiety every time I move. And I’ve moved cities about 8 times post college. Finding someone who does a natural looking blonde highlight is pretty difficult to find. I absolutely hate chunky highlights and brassy overtones. I also hate uniform color highlights. You will get none of those with Sovay.
I’m so glad that I found Sovay and highly recommend her, especially if you have blonde hair. She is a master of her craft! She is extremely detail oriented and is very skilled at a multi-dimensional light blonde with baby fine highlights. Her cuts are also fantastic - nice long layers and framing.
Since going to Sovay, my hair is much longer and healthier. I think that’s a combination of her advice on products (LOVE k18!) and by putting in such fine highlights, she minimizes the overall processing and damage.
Quality of my hair color and cut is my first priority when looking for a stylist, but it’s even better when you enjoy spending time with that person. Sovay is smart and kind. She cares deeply about her work and you can tell it is her passion. She always has interesting observations about the world - there is never a dull moment!

I got the worst haircut of my life at this salon in December 2023. Over 6 months later and I’m still trying to fix the damage. Nearly a $300 haircut for easily the most incompetent service I’ve ever received. Simple layers somehow turned into over 3 hours. I was so ready to jump off the chair. By far my worst experience in Austin and elsewhere. Avoid this place

You know that feeling when you show a hairstylist an inspo pic and you’re a little concerned that it might not turn out the way you want it to? And then you leave the salon and it’s.. not what you were expecting?
Sovay is a hair ARTIST. She will take your inspo pics, the ones you probably have saved on your Pinterest board- and make it reality. I wouldn’t even be surprised if some of the inspo pics on your Pinterest board are Sovay’s work.
I went in with inspiration photos, for a pretty dramatic (to me) haircut and I had that feeling, like, is even this doable? Two minutes in, sitting in Sovay’s chair, did I know I was in really good hands- that concern was gone.
Three things that stood out to me during my session:
- Sovay will ask you questions throughout your haircut- not just one or two questions. “Do you like this length?” *cuts shorter* “Okay how about now?” “What are your thoughts on this?” While also referencing the photos you’ve showed her.
- Sovay will ask you questions, but she will also tell you if she doesn’t think something will look good in relation to your face shape. So important!
- She takes her time, there is no rush whatsoever.
Sovay really wants you to love your hair and that’s exactly how I felt when I left her salon.
And, as a bonus, Sovay is a really cool person to talk to. I really enjoyed our conversations; it was like talking to a very knowledgeable friend.
The ambiance of her salon was also super cool. Your session is in your own room so it’s a really personalized experience.

I have been coming to Sovay for haircut and color for over 10 years now. She is the best stylist I’ve ever had. She listens yet makes recommendations based on her professional opinion and the amount of maintenance I’m willing to give my hair ( she always steers me in the right direction and knows my vibe…low maintenance) She has seen my hair go thru changes as I’ve gotten older and it always turns out fabulous. Not only is she a great stylist but a great person! I highly recommend you come see Sovay. She’s the best!!!

Sovay is a hair wizard!
I used to walk out of hair appointments feeling like my hair wasn't quite "me." But then I found Sovay, and it’s been a game-changer.
Sovay totally gets the whole "beachy vibes" look. She cuts and styles my hair in a way that's fresh and effortless, like I just rolled off the California coast (even though I live halfway across the country now). No matter what we're doing - a trim, a whole new cut, or some highlights - she always nails it. My hair feels healthy and looks amazing.
Plus, Sovay is just awesome. She's a great listener and easy to talk to, so coming in for a service is like hanging out with a friend (while getting your hair done). I also think she’s the best stylist in Austin, especially when it comes to long layered haircuts.

Seriously, AKB has changed my life. He's taken my very black Asian hair blonde, in a way where my hair still feels healthy and isn't orange or strawberry. I get an insane number of compliments. I trust him completely. He's a total perfectionist who truly loves his craft and it shows. I've referred friends who have had transformational experiences as well.

I loved my experience with David! It was my first time getting a salon experience.
I’m a guy, so it’s only ever been barbers & speedycuts. Though David made the experience so easy & enjoyable. He gave me some recommendations & his opinion about the haircut. I’m so happy with how it turned out! 10/10 ! :)

I cannot recommend David Moreno enough! He is so kind and personable but also gifted and does exactly what I ask and hope for! As a curly haired person, so many people want to Chop and take it all away or don't know how to let the hair find its grace. David is Perfect and I've never been happier with a hairdresser. 10 stars out of 5!
