I used to enjoy taking my elderly mom shopping at The Salvation Army on Mondays, but since they've discontinued the senior discount, she no longer wants to visit. Like Goodwill, prices on their donated/secondhand items have skyrocketed. The lack of the senior discount prices her out, since she is on a fixed income. I would also donate items frequently, but that will be ceasing as well. I understand that they're running a business and desire a profit, but we won't be supporting them any longer. They also now charge for Bibles. This place has become sad.

This is usually a store my family and I like coming to but MICHAEL from the store on 4216 south congress ave. seemed to have a problem with us and when confronted he kept making snarky and almost racist remarks at us. Overall he made our experience very unpleasant…. Will not come here again!!!!

This place has the worst employee I have ever seen. Very rude and I guess the assistant manager and manager are absolutely the worst they treat customers like trash and honestly I'LL NEVER GO BACK THERE!!!

I usually enjoy shopping at Salvation Army stores, but I had a disappointing experience during my recent visit. My twin and I went into a dressing room together, thinking it was okay since we had seen several other people earlier go in as groups—up to four at a time.
However, while we were in the dressing room, a tall male staff member knocked very loudly—twice—and spoke to us in a surprisingly harsh and unfriendly tone, apparently because there were two of us in the room. It felt unnecessarily aggressive, especially given what we had just observed with others.
We also noticed that other customers were bringing in full carts and way more than the stated limit of five items into the dressing rooms with no issue, which made the whole situation feel inconsistent and unfair.
I understand the need for rules, but I hope the staff can enforce them more evenly and treat all customers with respect and kindness. A little courtesy goes a long way.

Really love this store and the people that work here. It’s always a really great hardworking group of guys, super friendly and ready to help you with anything. Great deals throughout the week and solid manager too.

I’ve been coming here almost for 10 years and they continuously take away any incentive to come in. No more student discounts, no more senior discounts and falsely advertising a sale on a certain color tag when you watch the employees take those color tags off the shelf. The employees are great but whoever the captain is making the discount choices will be losing a lot of long time and frequent customers.

This is a decent place if you’re looking for furniture, but it is so challenging to shop for clothes because they sort by color instead of size. It’s just not worth the time to me when there are so many easier to shop thrift stores.

I guess the mgr (black guy) of this place asked me and my friend to leave our purses up at the front of the store guess he thought we were going to steal something. We were very offended by this. There was no reason for this. Him and another employee followed us into the parking lot and made a comment about our purses having something in it we didn't buy (not true) we proved him WRONG. I think he should go back to training or fired.... true story 😔

I went to The Salvation Army on Congress to donate items and the place was closed. Google showed this place was open.

I walked in to a customer yelling at employees. Once I decided to get something I waited in line for about 20-30 minutes. The employees told me about the deals they had on linens & sheets so I grabbed a couple and little did I know they were torn through. It is disappointing that I was sold something that was defective, and they have a no-refund or return policy.

Very nice place, was just a quick visit to kill some time between rides, definitely will stop again when I have more time to get a better feel for the store.

This is a great store. I found a beautiful simple unique dress and a sweater. Right before we checked out we found out that you get 50% off on clothing on Wednesdays. I'm happy.

Like most thrift stores, the majority of the floor is given over to clothing, but at this location, there's plenty of room for many other items. One thing I noticed about much of their clothing is that their prices are a few percentage points higher than that of Goodwill. They do have three dressing rooms in case you want to try something on. Their entire shoe selection sits on racks above the clothing. Since they run trucks to pick up furniture, you'll find a lot of nice furnishings here. I was surprised to see some good quality furniture and bedding at this location. Plenty of dining room tables and couches in clean and fairly unmolested condition. The best day to shop here is on Wednesday when they have 50% off clothing, shoes, purses, accessories, and linens. Most furniture is 50% off on Saturday. They do have some public bathrooms here, but don't expect them to be perfectly clean. This is a great thrift store to check out, but keep in mind all sales are final, no returns.
