Absolutely love Sammy’s house, my Son Jonah has done both preschool and school age summer camp with Sammy’s house and our time with them was amazing. I felt so good knowing my child was in both good caring hands but also understanding hearts, He was always excited to go back the next and see his teachers and friends. Bonus that they have a swimming pool in this Texas heat and life guards for safety. They build such a community with everyone and made us feel so included. I’m so thankful for Sammy’s House and all of the staff Especially Mr.Victor, Ms. Lesley, Teacher Quinn and Teacher Larry for making lasting memories with us. We can’t wait for next summer!

Sammy's House was life-changing at a time we needed them the most. After leaving the NICU with a kiddo with an ng-tube, we were scrambling to try to find child care that would accept our child. We found Sammy's House through word of mouth, and were blown away by the compassion, love, and warmth of all of the teachers and staff. The infant teacher, Ms. Sally, is particularly wonderful and has years of experience caring for children with all abilities. I truly believe the care they gave our daughter was instrumental in her being able to transition off of her ng-tube. I highly recommend this daycare.

Sammy’s House was my sons first daycare experience. My partner and I were very anxious to enroll him in daycare due to his severe food allergies, and wanted to make sure that where he went was knowledgeable about allergies and using epipen. We felt Sammy house was the place since they are use to caring for medically fragile children.
His teachers Ms. Sophia, Lexi, and Quinn were amazing with him, showed so much patience with his big feelings. But we decided to go with another school that we had been on a waitlist for due to feeling like the facility was poorly managed.
-We knew we made the right decision to move our son when we picked him up on his last day and we’re told that they could not find his Epipen, and had no record of it! He couldn’t even be in the facility due to his allergies without us completing his medical paperwork. To imagine if he would have had an episode and no one knew where his Epipen was is terrifying, especially after I was reassured that every teacher was trained and would be able to get his epipen if anything were to happen.
-It was hard speaking to someone about tuition, it took months for my first check to be cashed, it actually didn’t get done until after we gave notice that we were leaving, then we received a notice that we owed from our first week (2 months prior). After I proved that we paid what we were quoted they said we were quoted wrong but did acknowledge the quote we were given.

Sammy’s House has been the biggest unexpected blessing for our family! Our little one has been there for almost a year. All the teachers are amazing, attentive, and sweet. Sammy’s provides a safe, loving, and inclusive environment for all the sweet kiddos. We don’t know what we would do without Sammy’s! We 100% recommend them!

As a non-for-profit, the level of dedication and care amazes me. I can only use the word love because Sammy's House is not in it for the money. They offer other activities/services besides that daily child care. My children enjoy these events throughout the year.

I'm Pre-K teacher at Sammy's House and I love the relationships I have built with my kiddos. Some of them have been at Sammy's House since they were infants and are now getting ready to go to Kindergarten! It is amazing to know their parents are happy with the care they receive at Sammy's House. For me it has been great place to experience and learn to work with kids that are typical while also having inclusivity for the kiddos that have special needs.

I don't typically do reviews, but I must warn whoever I can. If the new Youth Director is still there, run, do not walk, run away from that place. Not only is she dishonest, she is unethical to say the least. She has people who do not work for the company, nor has any affiliation with the company to lie and and create "false" reviews for her on Google. From telling staff to not put anything in writing to flat out dishonesty about injuries in the classroom and telling staff not to tell parents. She is a liability waiting to happen. The Youth Director lied about her experience, only to find out she has NEVER been a Director, she stated that she came from Texas Rising Star; eyebrow raise number two. For the school to lose all of their stars under her is quite telling. It's not the Executive Director's fault, she was mislead. I understand that we as parents of special needs children want our children to be in the safest place possible, but if the top isn't creating a safe place, it's impossible to trickle down!

My son has been going to Sammy's House since he was 3 months old, and I can't say enough wonderful things about the quality of care he receives. The teachers are an extension of our family, and provide our little man with love, structure and socialization. We love Sammy's House and look forward to having our son grow there until he's ready to move into Kindergarten.

Please do not enroll your child here. My son was enrolled here for over a year and the entire time there was constant teacher turnover. The issue comes from the top, even the great teachers burn out and leave quickly because of the way they are treated. Any concerns you bring to the Executive Director will just be met with excuses and no apologies or solutions. My disabled son was left on play equipment without supervision on two occasions that caused injuries to his face, one incident was so bad it caused him to lose a tooth. The building is filthy and my crawling son would often come home with completely black hands and knees and was constantly sick. Incorrect medical diagnoses were listed on our paperwork and when I brought that to the attention of the Executive Director her solution was to just blame it on an employee that was no longer there and try to hide the evidence by grabbing the document from my hand to erase it. I've known of multiple employees that did not have a background check on file because that would have made them ineligible for employment at a daycare. I could go on and on about all the many issues with this place but the bottom line is, do not enroll your child here!

Update: I see several bad reviews in a row, two on the same day but under different names, all of which occurred right after a bad employee left Sammy's House. Very suspicious. All I can say is, yes, there is the occasional bad teacher that gets hired. They don't last very long. I can honestly say that I have been involved with Sammy's House for over a decade and I stand by my earlier review. You'll never find a better place for your child. It's a non-profit, so you know that the primary motivator is love for the students. The number of children in every class is very small. The teachers focus on each child's individual needs and don't have the "we are teaching this today, so keep up" mentality that many schools have. They also offer "respite days" on many Saturdays, where parents can leave their children in a great environment while they go take care of personal needs that can't be done during the work week.

do not enroll your child here. the place is a mess, everything is unorganized, I pulled my child out after five minutes here due to safety concerns with the POOL after being told she would be supervised by a director. I'm still waiting on a refund as we speak. it's concerning that parents would send their children here.

A sinking ship for prospective parents and employees. From what I understand, this place was founded on and earned a reputation for its dedication to special needs children regardless of ability to pay. Unfortunately, this is not the same institution that earned those accolades. The agency has been struggling to reinvent itself in the midst of the changes that Covid and a shortage of minimum wage workers have wrought. This and the fact that the director has fired at least 5 employees in one summer lead to constant understaffing issues that hurt the remaining staff and most of all the children. The children are crowded in classrooms above the claimed teacher-student ratio, and get less attention and care as a result. Teachers are untrained in an effort to put adult bodies in a room, as well as not given time to plan schedules or create curriculum, so children are bored and learning very little. The classrooms are disorganized and unclean, in one case there is no running water in a classroom expected to provide diaper changes and potty training, and other rooms have strange smells that resemble mold and mildew. The lack of time due to the understaffing means that the staff is forced to cut corners when cleaning and children are often playing on surfaces where food waste and human waste have barely been wiped away.It saddens me that a place that has so much potential to serve special needs families is facing so many problems. This agency needs more accountability and needs to be honest about the problems it is facing so that they can be solved rather than struggling to stay afloat at the expense of the families they serve.
