Title: Hidden Gem for Indo-European Delights: Shahi Foods GREAT FIND! During my drive home from an appointment in North Austin, I stumbled upon Shahi Foods, an Indo-European grocery tucked behind a gas station. The intriguing sign from Parmer caught my attention, and I'm so glad I decided to make a stop in this unfamiliar neighborhood. SAVORY & SWEET TREATS! The small grocery store is a true hidden gem, offering a delightful array of Indian and European groceries. I couldn't resist trying each of the samosa flavors, and I also grabbed a bottle of chutney to complement the treats. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I opted for a mixed dessert tub containing Gulab Jamun, Chom Chom, and Rasgulla, all supplied by Aladdin Astoria Sweets. GOOD SERVICE! The experience was delightful! The operator of Shahi Foods was not only welcoming but also patient with my questions, making my visit all the more enjoyable. The selection of chutneys was impressive, providing ample choices to enhance the flavors of my purchases. CHECK IT OUT if you are in the hood! Shahi Foods is undoubtedly a neighborhood gem and a wonderful surprise for anyone in the area. If you're a fan of Indo-European cuisine or simply looking for something different, make sure to stop by and explore the diverse offerings at Shahi Foods - you won't be disappointed!

I am a Bangladeshi and I came here one day while the younger brother was present. We asked him where we could find another type of fish, and he was like "Go find yourself". I was just shocked. Later his elder brother came and he really seemed well mannered and polite.Another negative side is that they are unnecessarily expensive. Some items they sell which are also available in other groceries are nearly at half price. They are just manipulating the 'only bengali shop' in Austin thing.I don't know the name of the person in the food section, but he was a really nice guy.

I've been visiting this shop for years and I'm never disappointed, I especially love that they carry injera. The gentleman at checkout is always friendly, and I can always find what I need and stuff I didn't realize I need.

I stumbled upon this place only because I stopped at the gas station on the corner of North Lamar and Palmer and what a pleasant surprise if not strange that the combination of foods here are both Indian/Pakistani and Russian and European. If you want chicken livers there, frozen get them here less than seven dollars for a pound, mince Lam to make lamb burgers, the best or lamb chops fantastic everything is Halal. I get all of my Indian spices, Russian good s like Latvian, bread, pierogies, salmon, roe caviar, and all of the prices are phenomenal.

I usually buy halal meat here. Like baby goat, keema and paya. They are fresh most of the items. The only thing I don't like here is that the person who works here doesn't listen to requirements properly.Maybe they don't understand English I am not sure about it.

They cook your order after you place the order. You get freshly prepared kebabs.

Good location for Indian and Bangladeshi food, produce, meat, and groceries. Food items can have occasional quality issues, have found mold in containers before. Fresh meat and vegetables are of good quality.

Grocery store staff is disinterested in customer service and gets offended when asked any product related question. Prices are high. We bought beef, goat and chicken. 70-80% of Beef packs contained only bones. Goat meat was stinky as if they are selling lamb as goat. With chicken, other shops likely pack after roughly washing the chicken post slaughtering. Their chicken came with a lot of blood and dirt giving the impression it didn’t get washed! I don’t understand why they are being allowed to run this business. These people are outright unethical. The cafe on the other hand is normal.

I recently visited this modest Indo-Pak-Bangla grocery with a small restaurant. They offer a variety of South Asian Masala, sweets, foods, fish, and halal meat. Prices are a bit high, but the restaurant serves the best beef tehari. However, be careful when entering as there's a steep downhill that caused damage to our car every time.

After a few pretty bad experiences recently with the cleanliness of the store, the bad attitude from the workers in the restaurant and expired foods, after today we are done. Purchased this Lithuanian Rye bread straight from the freezer and it was molded. From the freezer???I wouldn’t trust any food from their freezers. Here’s the photos

The owner of this place wanted to close 30min early and told me she shut down the register and was only taking cash. I don't think that's allowed because I didn't even get my receipt. They get away with stuff like this because most of their customers are foreigners
