This property is currently undergoing renovations. This is great! However, they should be embarrassed to remain open during this time. The first red flag was having to use the service elevators which took an obscenely long time while inhaling the fumes of paint and chemicals. Room was clean but not clean. Vents were full of dust and dander. But the lack of, like none at all, hot water took the cake. As a "I'm sorry" we were offered a free breakfast voucher. No, thank you, I'd rather have hot water in 30° temperatures. I've stayed at this property many times over the years, both personal and business travel, I'll unlikely return even after renovations are done.Noteworthy details: Rethink your stay here.

Stayed here for a long weekend and wow… absolutely horrible. There was construction going on everywhere and it seemed the the restaurant was never open. The pool was even filled with CEMENT and the elevators weren’t working so they had everyone use the service elevators. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would never stay here again. It was nothing like how it is pictured online.

I would not recommend this hotel. My husband and I were excited to stay here for a little staycation. I was shocked at the condition of the hotel and room. The pictures they show on their website doesn’t reflect what the hotel really looks like. The room and hotel is very outdated. I thought I’d stepped back in time and suddenly was in the 80’s. The price was great until I was charged $600 for two days! They don’t have free parking..you have to pay over $40 a day to park in their parking garage. Their restaurant charges over $20 for an omelette (with Italian sausage YUCK) and two slices of toast. They also don’t have microwaves in the rooms…or at least in our room. The refrigerators in the room are extremely tiny. The beds were hard as rocks. If I could have gotten my money back I would have rather stayed at another hotel, but I couldn’t get a refund. The Sheraton may have been great a long time ago, but unfortunately nowadays it’s rundown and not worth the money. I strongly recommend spending your money at another hotel. It’s just not worth the amount they charge for a stay.

Really enjoyed this hotel! The location is perfect. You can walk almost everywhere in downtown Austin. The rooms are so comfortable! The beds (especially the pillows) were fabulous. The shower had amazing water pressure and Aveda products! The parking lot was conveniently located next door, which was a big benefit for our cold weekend. Definitely recommend for a weekend trip to Austin!

Worst place I’ve ever been in. Everything is under construction. It looks like a motel that’s worth 60$ a night. Why did I spend this much money for a room? Bad judgement. My fault and I take accountability. Best thing I could do now is making sure others don’t do the

Very chaotic with all the construction. Stayed on the 5th floor and it was a bit of a mess with debris all through the hallways and doors on their sides propped up against the walls. The room did not seemed finished from renovations. No blow dryer in the room, called down to the front desk who promised to have one delivered but it never arrived. The poor valet was the only valet on staff and he was hustling but nearly impossible to get cars timely. He was super pleasant.

If I could I gave 0 star to this hotel. It was the worst ever hottel that I and my husband stayed at. The hottel was under construction with nothing. Dusty, with no warm water. The room was too cold and AC didn't work. When I called the service desk, some one said it iswhat it is!!!Also, they charged us for 170$ for the poorest service and amenities. They also charged us 50$ for one night parking at this terrible condition. This is not a ready hotel to accept the guests! It was fair if you mentioned this condition in your website, and let the people decide.

They are under major construction! The lobby is nonexistent and it’s quite dusty! Haven’t seen the rooms and the staff were unconcerned by my concern about my need to hit a work event for the conference they brought me here. Afro Tech official hospitality partner will get a stern email as wellSafety: Homeless nearby!Noteworthy details: It’s under construction but they charge market rate chose somewhere else!

The views from the room windows are gorgeous! I was near the top; I could see a lot. The housekeeping staff was nice. Had a great time at The Yard.Rooms: The rooms were a nice size. They were clean and well stocked with towels and soaps (if you use them).Nearby activities: There were a lot of cool places within walking distance. There are many clubs and bars. Nightlife is active.Food & drinks: The food I've had from nearby places was great. The food served from within the hotel was great and consistent.

Horrible! I’d not be exaggerating when I say the worst Marriott property I’ve stayed at - and i technically spend half the year living in their properties. Subpar service and the building is not well maintained. They didn’t grant me late check out, something that pretty much always is granted with AE status. Neither they tried to accommodate orShow any willingness to help. This is crazy to me. The elevators to parking lot were so dirty and smelled like sewage. Horrible. The room had no shampoo or conditioner and the AC was broken. This place is a disaster of a hotel.

Close to IH35 on the east side of downtown, the location is accessible if a little noisy. Excellent gym. Rooms are standard with a few odd choices, like the minimal lighting over the sink. Currently renovation construction is ongoing, though not much impact.Walkability: It's easy to walk into downtown but you may want to go in a group.

If you value your safety and privacy, never stay here.Approximately 9am, I was in the bathroom, just out of the shower, trying to finish getting ready and I hear housekeeping knocking. I ignore it because for one I’m in a towel in the bathroom and importantly the door is locked and the security latch is on. The knocking stops but then I hear the door open, slamming into the security latch. As I’m peaking out of the room, still in a towel, I see a hand come through the door and starts to maneuver the security lock to get it to open so she could come in.I screamed at her while she was doing it and she immediately removed her band and closed the door. I ran to the door, opened the security latch, screamed at her again that what she did was highly inappropriate and called the front desk. The girl at the front desk was outraged and said she’d report this to management and they’d call me.I got dressed as quickly as I could and gathered my things. I was crying and my heart was racing and felt so violated. If I had not caught her, she would’ve gotten the door open as this obviously wasn’t her first time doing it.I messaged the hotel through the app and was told, a second time, that management would be calling me and they verified my number.Has anyone contacted me? Absolutely not! Probably because they’ve already collected their money and I’m no longer important to them. But be aware - you’re not safe here. I feel victimized. Stay here and you’ll probably end up getting assaulted by their own employees breaking into your room.Safety: You’re not safe here. Employees break into your rooms.

Great rooms. The hotel was under construction but it wasn’t really noticeable. I thought $75 per day hold for “incidentals“ was kinda ridiculous- I was there for a professional conference. But the staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable.Walkability: Easy walk to the Capitol and the downtown hot spots.

I had a presentation at a conference which was held in this hotel; so I booked a room there. I got there at 10pm, the night of the conference and they told me their system had overbooked their rooms(?!!!) and so they had paid (I was like if I already have paid you, you just transferred my money; it is not like you have paid anything out of pocket for the inconvenience you caused me !!!) for my stay at another nearby hotel, which is 8 minutes drive (!!and of course 8 minutes drive when you don’t have a car during the trip means payments for daily commutes; at least they could have covered that !). They had not contacted me earlier to let me know about their overbooking issue; didn’t give me a chance to see if there is any nearby ( walking distance, cross the street or something that I could go back and forth between the sessions or when I had a conference call to take) ; and they didn’t offer any credit for the inconvenience and stress they caused or reimbursement for the daily commute to their hotel. They were also rude and were expecting me to be thankful that they had booked me somewhere else. While I was at waiting for my ride to the other hotel, some other guests were able to check in, which made me ask the receptionists how they decided who should stay and who should go and got no answer on that. Anyway I went to the other hotel which was in a construction zone and load at nights.I have sent the managers of the hotel emails with no responses. Not sure how they are in the hospitality business!

A lot of construction going on. Thermostat in my room 1027 was not working properly so a box fan was brought to my room. Security came to fix the temperature and it worked fine afterwards. I was comfortable.Safety: I traveled alone and felt very safe.
