We transferred to this location earlier this year, and I have been extremely happy with the care that our daughter has been receiving. Her teachers are attentive, caring, and kind to all of the children. Our child is always smiling and waving when she enters the school. You can’t ask for much more than that.Miss Suzy has done a fantastic job with This school, and I would recommend stepping stone Shoal Creek to any of my friends.

We were at another Stepping Stone location where Ms. Suzy was the principal. When she was promoted and moved to Shoal Creek, we hopped at the chance to join her. We were previously interested in this location but heard about the high turnover. Under her leadership, we knew that this would be the right place to move our 2 year old and newborn.Ms Suzy is really invested in the children. She recognized that our daughter needed more of a challenge and moved her to an advance class. Ms Maria her teacher is caring and collaborative. She truly cares about building up our daughter's confidence. Moving from a different state and different daycares, these two ladies have tried to ensure that my daughter is thriving in a positive environment. Ms Nikki, whose class my daughter sometimes joins, is also really great! As for the infant room, Ms Abby, Ms Yanyce, Ms Liz, and Ms Jade are amazing. They really care for all of the babies and are so sweet to them. They go above and beyond to take care of my little one's sensitive skin and I love catching up with them in the morning and afternoon to get the scoop on my baby.I'm really glad that with such a change (NY to TX) we were able to find such a positive environment for our kids.

I hate calling this "daycare" because it's so much more than that. I love that the Tadpoles app gives us updates about our daughter's day, including what skills she's working on. I can tell the staff genuinely cares about my child; it makes it so much easier to send her off to school each day.

Giving this review based on recent changes at this campus. This is not the same review I would have given three months ago. I’ve read the reviews concerning the high turnover rate and they are absolutely true. That has always been our concern since our daughter started at Stepping Stone at 12 weeks old in summer 2023. That being said, since Suzy has become the new principal of this campus, I have seen a lot of positive changes in the cleanliness of the classrooms and genuinely believe that her outgoing personality and love for the children has encouraged a better culture not only with the parents and children but also with the teachers. She seems equally invested in all of the children and I have witnessed her jumping in to help where needed when a teacher is out and they need all hands on deck. I’m looking forward to seeing more positive changes under her principalship. I encourage upper management at Stepping Stone to do what they need to lower the turnover rate of teachers and principals. It has definitely always kept us with one foot out the door until Suzy took over.

Absolutely nothing premiere about this over priced day-care. Kids will sit in soiled diapers for 4 plus hours at a time. Kids and staff that are sick are forced to stay to keep up the appearance of being full, the whole time passing around RSV, hand foot and mouth, it's about profits instead of placing the child first. Save your money and look elsewhere

The staff and teachers are really nice and create bonds with the kids. My kids mostly enjoy themselves with their peers during after school care. The minimal holidays that they are closed really is a major help.

Ms. Liz in the infant room is exceptional and deserves so much recognition. She truly knows and cares about my baby. He lights up when he sees her each morning! It was *not* easy for me to return to work after mat leave but the team at this location are excellent. They helped me (and baby) ease in, gave us tons of support, and went above and beyond with communication. It's been 3 months and it honestly just continues to get better. It's no secret that there's been a lot of turnover at this location but Mr. Ryan and Ms. Liz are the type of quality folks that I'd hoped we'd find to care for our baby. This is an easy 5 star review. Thanks for loving on our little guy.

We’ve had a great experience with Stepping Stone. The teachers and helpers are all extremely friendly and our daughter is always engaged and actively playing when we sneak in and watch her for a bit each day before we scoop her up!So far we’re very happy with Steeping Stone Shoal Creek. Our daughter seems very happy and well cared for!

After a little over 2 years we're withdrawing our two children from Stepping Stone Shoal Creek. Our oldest is going to kindergarten but we're withdrawing our 2 year old after watching things slowly deteriorate during our time here.During these two years we've seen 5 principals: first Savannah, then Misty, Taylor, Alma and now Ryan. We've appreciated all of them and their hard work but feel that the turnover at the principal level is too high compared to other schools we've interviewed recently. The turnover is certainly not limited to the principal position. Our two-year-old seems to have a new teacher every 2-3 weeks for the last several months. It has been heartbreaking dropping our daughter off on Monday only to find out that her teacher had resigned on the Friday prior. What makes this situation even worse is that we receive no communication from the school when a teacher resigns. I guess the frequency is so high they've decided its not worth it to notify the parents? Or perhaps they don't want to acknowledge the high turnover by formalizing it in an email? With the high turnover comes a degradation in communication from teachers. With a new teacher (or substitute) every week or so, its impossible to get up to speed, change diapers, plan lessons, distribute meals, and then somehow find the time to keep parents informed on meals, naps and BMs. Again, I don't fault the teachers or staff here and genuinely feel bad for how much they have to handle while chronically understaffed. If you're a parent of a 2-3 year I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere until the high turnover rate is addressed. If you're still considering Stepping Stone be sure to ask about turnover rates, ask who their teacher is and how long that teacher has been at the school, etc.I've been conflicted about writing this review for a while now because we appreciate the Stepping Stone staff for all of their commitment and passion for the kids. Our 5 year old's graduation was so bittersweet because we adore Ms. Belia and know that she really loves her students and brings her best every day. We also really loved Ms. Maria; our 5 year old really flourished in her class. I especially appreciate and respect Ms. Samone who has filled in consistently and backstopped the high turnover for the 2 and 3 year old classes. She has been the one constant in our 2-year-old's time at Stepping Stone (aside from Ms Julia, who we also loved). I really believe the problems at this school are above the principal level and that Rhonda Paver and Stepping Stone corporate need to figure out the tools necessary to let this school thrive again.

I do not agree with how admin speaks to the teachers along with them not wanting to help. The assistant principle try’s her best to avoid going in a room. Teachers sometimes go without a break but even a potty break. Teachers are not valued here.

I don't agree with the fact that this pre-school values having "bodies" in the school more than they care about what kind of people they have employed.Regardless they are always "out of ratio"A daycare teacher that banged a crib with a baby inside of it and a teacher that refused to change diapers had every reason to be fired, instead they choose to fire the teacher who reported it and kept the teacher who was also within her 90 days of employment and committed those offenses. Not to mention while I was employed here, Mr.ryan the principal gave me permission to lie to a parent about what the child ate for lunch however, as a parent, I chose to tell the childs parent the truth. The safety of children need to come first.I worked here and i would never send my child to this location. There is too many teachers here that know how to act for parents and new hires, including Mr.Ryan.

Unfortunately not a good fit for us. Our infant son was consistently behind schedule on his bottle feedings even with ample communication on our end. It was very disheartening and concerning picking him up and the staff is playing a bit of telephone trying to piece together a story of how his day went. We switched daycares after 2 months.

Our son is in the infant classroom. I will begin by saying we've had a bit of a rocky start with the transition to daycare- Our son is particular, to say the least, when it comes to eating. After a few challenging days (and my climbing anxiety), the principal, Alma, transferred him to the second infant classroom to make sure he got the individualized care he needed to thrive. In this new classroom, he immediately bonded with Ms. Leah. For better and worse, he will only eat for her! Leah is the epitome of a team player- she always reassures us that, together, with open communication and trust, we will get our son where he needs to be. She updates us regularly, does her best to help him finish his bottles, and has such a warm and inviting personality. I feel lucky that my son has a teacher like Leah. When Ms. Leah is away, the principal, Alma, has taken on helping to feed our son. Alma is gracious, energetic, and knows all the children by name. We are so thankful for the both of them!

We've been really happy with Stepping Stone. They were phenomenal throughout the pandemic and provided consistent and quality care. It's no doubt been a challenge and we've seen if with staffing turn over, but it's clear they are paying attention. I love that Stepping Stone is locally owned. I can see how they've honed this business over the years to serve children and families and it's clear they pay attention to each campus.I love that curriculum with different themes every week. My child has learned so much so early because of how they build their curriculum and the routine they set for the children. It's helped reinforce concepts around safety and manners I am grateful for.Something I didn't factor in when I looked for schools was whether or not they feed the kids -- let me tell you this is a game changer! All the kids sit down and eat the same food all together. The food is all prepared on site and they have a great variety to keep them trying different things.
