Once upon a time, this Faerie Queen was visiting her father in Texas. The open land, friendly people, and the wild flowers... what is there not to love here at this time of year? The airport is clean and houses many shops. A nice place to land! The end.

Did an hr layover here and done a couple times in the past. Such a nice clean airport with lots of shops and places to eat! Definitely a great place to do a layover flight if your passing through!

"...I'm just sittin' out here watching airplanes Take off and fly Tryin' to figure out which one you might be on And why you don't love me anymore Right now I'm sittin' out here watching airplanes..." ~ Gary Allan (I use to sing this after I would drop Ray off at the Austin Airport when he was heading back to So Cal) I LOVE THIS AIRPORT AS MUCH AS I LOVE BUTTERMILK PIE!!! Circa 2020 to the end of 2022, I lived 20 minutes south of the airport in Bastrop. The Ball & Chain, Ray (who was The Villain in most of my reviews this trip.) was living in So Cal. Once a month we would be flying back forth to visit each other. (Oh man, that memory, reminds me that he should go back to Romantic Interest status in my reviews again). So, we were definitely frequent visitors to AUS! I would drive straight to a long term parking lot (The Spot) jump on the shuttle and get to airport in less than 7 minutes! Lines in airport check in are super short! EASY BREEZY! In the evening this place is a party!!! It's filled with live music (2 bands play in the evening!!!) Great restaurants and fabulous vending machines filled Gourmet foods! If you're a shopper/money waste, like me, there's plenty of shops to blow your money at! There's also vending machines that sell make up, mobile devices and LEGOS!!! There's also a spa (mani's, pedi's and massages are some of the services)! I usually get so nervous when navigating big city airports, like SFO & LAX. Austin Airport is a breeze to fly out of and a lot of fun to wait at! Today Ray and I are leaving the best state on Earth, TEXAS and heading back to stupid So Cal! (I'm getting choked up typing this). We got to airport early and were planning on going to the Delta Sky Club, because Ray is a Big Baller and has the fancy American Express (unlike me, he can be trusted with an Amex) and we were flying Delta. We were looking forward "...to a nice breakfast and not having to mingle amongst the rift raft..." (we say that jokingly because we kinda are the rift raft). We get to the checkin desk of the Delta Sky Club and they didn't let us because we weren't flying first class. Even though we had the fancy pants Amex Black card, we were reminded that we are still considered Paupers because we were only flying "Delta Basic". (I use to fly Delta so often during my life in Texas, that I use to offer to get bumped or earn enough points to fly first class! I felt so highfalutin!) We ended up having breakfast at Parkside. (It was blah, not worth a review) Well, it's time to board our flight! I'm singing in my head; "...God blessed Texas With His own hand Brought down angels from the promised land Gave 'em a place where they could dance If you wanna see heaven, brother, here's your chance I've been sent to spread the message God blessed Texas!!!..." Easy to navigate and nice and clean. This airport had a lot of food options and even live music. Nice decor makes it feel like you're not even in an airport

I usually try to give a little more love to Austin Airport, especially since they did a lot of improvement in the gate areas and services. But the management of the travelers is something they still need to work on. Case in point. They had one TSA line open the exact opposite end of my gate. And the line took longer as a result. Management still needs work.

Easy airport to navigate and everyone there has been very helpful and friendly. It's always clean and plenty of dining choices.

AUS is a great airport, especially for its size. You'll find a good selection of restaurants and bars to help pass the time before your flight. Just be warned: gates can get crowded, and security lines can be slow. Give yourself at least two hours before departure to avoid stress. Sadly, no Centurion Lounge here, but other lounges are available if you have the right access.

Crazy highway merge to get to the airport! Convenient gas station however, you pay the price for convenience!

Much smaller airport but definitely the nicest during my travel! Once you check in, they have different TSA check points scattered around depending which section of the airport you will be in. The first flights leave at 5am and TSA opens at 3am. Before that time, you will only see janitors and security wandering around. They make sure you know you are in Texas! There are Austin signs everywhere and beautiful art pieces on the wall. There are restaurants and toilets everywhere you look. You do not have to worry about that! Since it is smaller, if you do not get to your gate earlier, passengers have to stand up since there are no more chairs. There was even music playing at 4am since it is the live music capital. I did not mind the music but I could see how others would be annoyed.

One of my favorite places to be stuck -- lots of great food options if you're there while everything is open, but not too many options with really early or really late flights.Check in can be a nightmare, so make sure you arrive with plenty of time, especially without Pre-Check. Even with it I'd make sure you're not rushing.Ground transportation is a bit of a walk outside and in a parking garage, so check the weather and dress accordingly -- trust me from experience.

All security entry points say "all gates this way" - There are no obvious signs saying for frontier and Allegiant airlines exit and take a shuttle! Not only this but NO ONE in security told me that I'm in the wrong place, even when I ask, they just say "keep going this way, sir"After getting through the entire line, I ask around and still no one knows. Finally I decide to exit and find someone by the exit who tells me I have to take a shuttle and almost miss my flight after being hours early.

Flew in and out of this airport with no issues.Checking in baggage was painless. TSA Precheck line took me all but two minutes to get through. Terminals were clean and the airport was extremely easy to navigate.I look forward to experiencing Austin again.
