I brought my own oil. I called twice and they said it would be $45. Drove from Mueller and was given a different price once I got there. The gentleman that helped me was an assistant manager I believe, and he had 2 new girls. I saw a previous review that the 2 new girls put the wrong oil in someone’s car and their car started breaking down. Those 2 girls can use some better training but when I was there the assistant manager was busy with everything else and handling customers. It’s not his fault. It’s corporates for not providing him the proper staff and the pay he probably deserves. Corporate is also the one who answers the phones and gives prices on the phones. The stores don’t.

I had such a great experience here today. Tametheius helped me and he was quick, knowledgeable, and extremely patient with me (I was driving my husband’s car and didn’t know where any of the controls were). I live on the other side of Austin, but I go out of my way to visit this Take 5 because the people are kind and the service is always exceptional.

Worst experience. I arrived Tuesday evening at 6p and there were only two employees, one of whom seemingly had no idea what was she doing. The other just scolded the less experienced employee. It was just me and another vehicle and the other was complete, but the employees couldn’t figure out how to get the air filter back in. After 20 minutes of sitting and listening to the bickering, I decided to take my chances running my vehicle on old oil instead of letting these two experiment on my vehicle. I departed the bay and left with no oil change.
Do better, Take 5. Train your people technically and professionally. Just awful.

Karissa and Joey helped me even though I was coming in really late. They were the most friendly, kind and knowledgeable Techs I've ever had at this location.... And this location is the only place I've gone to besides one other Take 5 in Dallas when I lived there, over the span of 2 vehicles. Thank you so much Karissa and Joey and I will always come to this location so long as they are working here!

The crew at Take 5 was great. Tametheius was professional and explained every step in detail. Jaylen performed the oil change and coolant replacement in a very timely manner. I would go back here for my next oil change.

I went to get my oil change at the Balcones Dr. location on Saturday, because my car was a little overdue for one, and I was in Austin that evening anyways. About 30 minutes after getting my oil change and on my way back home (since I live an hour away from Austin), I started hearing my engine roar when I pressed on the gas (I drive a SUV, and my car was fine before the oil change) and started to smell burning oil. I later looked it up, and it turns out cars mainly do this when the wrong oil is put into it. If the two girls that were working would’ve put their focus more on their job than joking around with each other, my car would’ve been fine. It honestly makes me not trust getting my oil change done in Austin at all, and would rather stay local.
