i have stayed here twice. (both times a staycation). both times fantastic, 2nd time unexpected. 1/3 of the rooms are "micro" and you have to share a "hallway" wash facility. at first i was against it, but my privacy was never compromised. the rest of the hotel is kinda what you would expect. the rooms are of 50's decor, they are comfortable, hip, and super quiet. this place just has a vibe. the girl at the front desk, ANDI, was outstanding in providing me information and extra coffee. her and the rest of the staff never disappoint. oh....and do NOT leave till you eating brunch at the restaurant downstair. super good, super tasty, and you will find something on the menu you want to eat. some day i will work up the courage to try the blueberry cheesecake waffles. (death row inmates swear by it). i will be 60 next month, so i probably dont relate to the masses. but the one thing this place has is LOCATION ! , VALUE, and CLASS. dont be surprised if the place is full if you try to book. east austin hotel is a true find.

I absolutely forgot this hotel was communal when we booked so it was a confusing minute that our bathrooms were outside the room. It was a different experience and we honestly enjoyed it. They were clean and never crowded and have handicapped bathroom/showers. The room was cozy. Our particular building didn't have an elevator, only stairs but the building surrounding the pool did. So if you need those accommodations, it might be best to book over the phone instead of a third party (Hotels, Expedia, etc.) to make sure you get a room in a building with the elevator. The courtyard had an outside bar but they're seasonal but still relaxing place to be. And there's a restaurant connected to the hotel but the street has late night businesses and bars if you want something later. They have a parking garage that's $30ish dollars for a night and with in and out access. If you don't mind dorm style or open to a non-traditional hotel, this place is cute! I will say the night we stayed, there's a THC truck outside that was playing music. We were able to fall asleep but keep ear plugs handy if you're a light sleeper.

AVOID! Management and staff need to work on communication…I arrived for check in at the East Austin hotel on a Saturday and realized that I had booked for the previous day and was charged for my stay ($253.00). I understood that this was my own fault having booked the wrong day. However, the gentleman working the front desk told me that he would help me move my booking to the correct date so that I would not be charged again for the room. He said… “please come back in an hour when my manager is present, so he can make sure you don’t get charged again”. I then left for about an hour and returned. At that point the manager checked me in and said he was making sure to “comp my room”. I then let him know that I was already charged and he ONCE AGAIN reassured me that I would not be charged for the room again - only for the temporary incidental fee of $150.00After flying home the next day I saw an additional charge for my room of $273.00. I then called the front desk and was given the manager email. I sent her an email with full information regarding my stay and requested support, no reply. I know this was the correct email because it contained the managers headshot in the icon(also publicly available on LinkedIn)…I then called again and followed up with another email. Once again, no-reply…After two email attempts I again called and asked for the manager by name. She answered and said she could not find my emails. After explaining the situation she essentially told me that the employee(s) working told me the wrong information, and she was unable to refund me.I was told she would discuss this with staff and follow up via email but (surprise, surprise) no follow up.Horrible experience.

I would avoid this hotel at all cost. I have emailed them multiple times with issues that I experienced at their hotel. Its been weeks and they have not acknowledged a single email that I have sent. They are wanting the problem (me) to go away without dealing with it. I was only trying to help by providing awareness to the situation to improve conditions for future guests. My hotel room had broken bathroom tiles, dirt and hair on the floor, chipped paint and small holes. Room service did not come to the room and I had to request it the next day, the coffee machine in our room did not work, the ice machines did not work, the room was so warm and muggy, the said they would provide a fan on the phone and then once I got there they claimed they did not have any at this hotel. The downstairs hotel bar was not open and all of the outdoor table and chairs were dirty, so you could not use them. The upstairs bartender overcharged my friend for a expensive drink and was expressing she wanted to leave when it was still 30 min until bar close. These all seem like minor issues, but when all of these occur during your stay it makes for a unpleasant stay. I did not want to have to write a bad review, but since I was being ignored by their management I did not have a choice. They charge a $150.00 incidental fee in case something in the room is broken and they clearly do not use that fee towards fixing up the rooms. I hope this review makes you think twice about staying here.

Cute boho style boutique hotel in the perfect location to the local night scene. Plenty of parking, very safe & secure. We stayed in a Waller king on the 1st floor.. it was a great room with very comfortable bed & pillows. I enjoyed the "view" from the window...the wall helps with noise & safety. We didn't hear any road/party noise. The bar on the 2nd floor is very cute & has great staff. We'd stay here again!

This hotel is located in an ideal spot Outside the main busy area of 6th street. The layout reminds me of an old Miami Oceanside setup. It's projecting a bohemian/ocean avenue vibe.Kinda love it.At night there are delicious food trucks on the street; so don't worry about going too far for a late night snack after coming back from dirty 6th.The room and bathroom were immaculate. And the pool, even though it was too cold during my stay, was a great spot to chill after coming home at night. All in all great location. Very clean. Hip. And fantastic vibe.

Cute enough hotel in a fun area! We really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and admittedly didn't spend much time at the hotel. The room itself was very clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable.

The rooms are nice, the location is convenient, but internet access is the pits: very slow, comes and goes. It's fine for an overnight stay, where you can just use your phone, but if you wanted to use your computer for anything, you'd be out of luck.
