I’ve been a member for over 5 years, but I can’t take it anymore. This credit union uses archaic systems that makes everything a difficult chore for members. Choose this bank if you want the most inconvenient experience available on the market. For example, my check took over a week to clear, and truwest, (in violation of their member agreement) didn’t inform me that it would take so long. I had none of the “red flags” they list that might cause delay. Every single time you call customer support you get a foreign person telling you they can’t help and to call the main support line (they can’t transfer you, they can just give you the number). But then, that person gives you the same exact number you just called, so you just go in circles! Chat agents have been unhelpful and rude. If you want a credit union, there are others that have prioritized member convenience and attempted to modernize—I would urge you to choose those. I certainly will be going forward.

I've been using TruWest for over 10 years, and I don't plan on changing any time soon!

Went to deposit $538 today and when the teller counted it back it was only $513. Definitely suspicious and will be making sure I count every penny in front of these people from here on out.

I have been a member of the Tru-West Credit Union since 2014 and I have only had a few little problems that if I had these problems with say Wells Fargo or U S Bank then the issue would have never been resolved The folks who are responsible for the customer service are great people who are good at their jobs if they don't have a answer rather than bullshit You they have always hunted down the answers for my questions about anything that I could possibly come up with Whenever I go to the branch I get helped with personal service I feel like family and a bonus for the members is the shared network that lets me do my credit union transactions in person wherever state I am in and they always have a ATM that I can find and if I can't find a in network ATM then I can just do buy something at a Walmart or Target and ask for cash back so I am always able to get my hands on my money I don't know why anyone would bash on Tru-West unless they have poor money management skills or they don't value maintaining a good FICO score then just like anyone who is in business TRU-West is going to look out for the people who are in good standing to help keep the level of service that we have enjoyed over the years Trent M

Worst excuse for a bank everTellers are good. Managers are jerks.Don't get anything notarized there as they will unethically read the documents and ask personal questions. Constantly flag legitimate purchases and leave you embarrassed at the register. When it is fraud they will fight you and refuse to credit.... I would rate a zero if an option

This has been my family’s bank for our entire lives, and my first and only banking experience since I was 16. Great people, great service

If your goal is to be ignored with benevolent indifference as an insignificant member, then bank here. Due to a non-response, I have stopped use of this credit card and will take my business elsewhere. Basically, in May my monthly payment was processed a few weeks late and I received a late fee notification. I called, went through the menu and long hold time, verified myself 8 different ways, and was told the late payment fee was revoked since my payment was now showing. In June I sent a substantial monthly payment which was never processed. I called again, and said my July payment would be larger to cover both months. In July I sent a large payment, which again was not processed and I received a reminder to make at least a minimum payment. I called again. I was told it was not possible to discuss this in person at any branch, nor could I discuss it over the phone, due to Covid. I asked if maybe there was a skeleton staff due to the pandemic, but was told no. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He took my name and number and said it would be placed in a que and I would receive a callback sometime in 48 hours at their convenience. No callback. I was going to ask if perhaps my monthly interest could be adjusted to reflect the payments I made in good faith which were never applied to my card. I can see now that's just a waste of breath. If you are a TruWest employee and you would like to respond to my review with a patronizing feel-good canned response....don't bother. That'll just upset me more. I have taken my banking needs elsewhere. Maybe I'll check back in a year and see if things have improved, but I have better things to do than waste my time with an institution that apparently doesn't concern itself with member problems that are actually created by the banking institution itself. Good luck with that.

Worst and most incompetent customer service ever. I get treated like a second class -citizen because I have a joint checking account. They lost all of my paperwork for a new ATM card after their crappy ATM card demagnetized and stopped working. Waited weeks for a new ATM card to find out they had lost my paperwork or maybe who knows gave it to somebody else. There is no record of my in person transaction and nobody knows what happened. Not feeling very confident about their ability to keep my information private or secure if they have no record of an in person transaction with paperwork that has my personal information on it. Find yourself another more professional bank. Completely incompetent.

Chris Villalpando the teller at this credit union was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. An older woman teller was unable to figure out how to deposit an out of state municipal business check into my business account even after giving her every account number. Chris figured it out and deposited the check with no problem. I will go directly to him next time. This is a clear case where younger people need to educate, train, and manage inflexible old/ senior citizen employees on customer service and technology and common sense.
