Do not bother going to this location because they do not have tellers. You can only make deposits via ATM.

I was warned of poor tech before opening an account. Service always seems to be top notch however, their app and online interface are extremely behind other institutions. The UFCU interbank connection to my budgeting software and quickbooks failed over a month ago with their online revamp. They've given no clear indication when asked of when it will be restored. Going into tax season it makes a simple process of matching transactions for my business impossible. I've always dealt with the poor interfaces. This was too much. I've begun to migrate balances to a new bank with great connections to third party vendors.

Do not recommend. You can't get a hold of anyone there. Holds for longer than an hour. They should also consider getting a new dev team for their website/app. Can't use the app or transfer funds, essentially freezing your account.

I cannot stand your new mobile banking app. I have been a customer since 2002 and the past two months have been chaos. I am not able to get a debit card in a timely manner and now I can't even log into my bank account and get a hold of anybody to help me login into my bank account and this isn't the first time in the past two months. I am very unhappy and I want somebody to contact me ASAP. 512-294-9770!

This branch of the UFCU family has been extremely helpful to me! Esteban, has always assisted me with my banking needs and has treated me well! He is the reason that I trust UFCU with my financial needs!

Don't bank here. They are shady and greedy. They like to do things like reorder your charges when your bank account is low and engage in shady accounting practices and reshuffling charges to maximize overdraft fees. This wasn't a problem at my old bank, and there was supposedly some legislation that was supposed to prevent banks from doing this. Not UFCU, though. They are right down by campus, so they like to take advantage of students who don't know any better. Their review average of 2 stars speaks for itself. They've already been sued, and lose, for these same kinds of practices, just back in 2015. Now, even after the legislative sessions covering this same issue, they are back at it again. Shameless, UFCU. Just back in 2022, a news article reported that UFCU reduced overdraft fees, because it was the "right thing to do." Now, CEO Terry Rourke is back to doing the wrong thing. "Our motivation for eliminating and reducing fees associated with overdraft is simple - it's the right thing to do," said United President/CEO Terry O'Rourke. "These fee changes are consistent with our core value as a credit union of people helping people. Those who rely on courtesy pay are often the ones least able to afford it. We're taking a stance to support our Members' financial wellness and provide options that help them avoid fees." Again, they are reshuffling charges and hitting you with overdraft fees based on available balance rather than the actual balance. For the record, this is not only shady,, it's excessively greedy and they know it's shady, yet shamelessly, they still do it. UFCU is a joke. Save yourself the heartache and $30 charges out of nowhere, and bank somewhere else. UFCU CEO Terry O'Rourke is a crook. LINK 1 HERE: LINK 2 HERE:

I have been a UFCU customer since September 1985, mostly using credit card services since graduating from UT in Spring 1993. Today I have spent more than 2 hours on hold trying to clear a fraud hold on my account. I also logged into my account online but could not locate any way to clear the fraud hold even though I could see my pending payments in the system. I just got divorced and this is my only credit card. This left me in a terrible position as I try to setup a new apartment for the first time in decades. Three hours into the incident UFCU's automated fraud detection system called me to review the charge that triggered the alert after which I regained use of the card. I was thinking about what might go wrong if I was on travel and this incident repeated itself - locked out of my main payment method for three hours without any recourse. This terrible customer service for credit cards is unacceptable even if today is Juneteenth and it's a federal holiday. I have applied for a credit card from another company that is known for reliable customer service. I will be closing my UFCU account as soon as I get the new card in a few days, and good riddance. If UFCU is going to be in the credit card business it needs to do better than this.

Coming from west Texas, and comparing this bank to my bank, the difference is night and day. When I moved to Austin about 5 years ago, I hesitated opening an account with UFCU due to the negative reviews. Heck, most banks in Austin had negative reviews, but I picked this one. Instead of closing my checking and savings account with my other trusted bank, I chose to keep it open. Thank God I did. Today, I called UFCU to ask an employee to lift a hold that I placed on a merchant. A few months ago, I had issues with this merchant, so I placed a hold so I would not see any transactions that I did not authorize. I spoke with a female and asked if she could lift the hold. She said yes, but that she would charge me $30 to do this. I told her that I have never heard of such charge. She quickly became rude and feisty and said, "Well, you asked for this hold, you signed for it". I told her I knew that, but the problem was the $30 charge. I also did not know the hold was permanent. Then I told her that my other bank in my hometown does not charge $30 and hinted that their customer service was much better. She became hostile and told me to use the other bank. I told her this is the reason I did not want to open an account here because of her attitude. This reflect poorly on UFCU. She went on and on and continued being rude and condescending. I hung up, then quickly called back and asked for a supervisor. I spoke with a person named Mitch who apologized for her behavior, but also, this is the shocking part. It turns out the female lied to me as he went on to explain that they do NOT charge $30 for lifting a hold. There you go folks. The negative reviews speak for themselves. I hope to close this account in the near future. Also, this is not the first time experiencing bad customer service at UFCU.

I have to say it was easy and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I visited the Guadalupe branch next to campus. Since it is summer it was completely dead. I wanted to make an appointment to start a CD but they were able to get me in and out in 10 minutes so I just did it then. It's great they finally have some decent CD rates. I'm still not really pleased that the campus branch does not handle CASH any more. I understand the reason, but it is an inconvenience for customers.

I absolutely hate this credit union. I've been with them since 2011 so that's 12 years and they have gone downhill to say the least. They have very little money now and are a part of ESG which is bad news folks. So if you're looking to refinance or a new loan, they have their own scoring model that doesn't match FICO or any others so beware. They only want to lend at very high interest rates. Big banks aren't great right now either, but the customer service at UFCU now is beyond terrible. At this time, I will be closing all of my accounts with them and moving my loans. They have no respect for long-term members. They're only concerned with new members and that will change too eventually. My biggest regret is ever banking with them in the first place. Even down to the little things, such as never removing fees even though I've only had 3 in 12 years and I still haven't received my debit card that I requested twice 8 months ago! And I don't even care because I'm moving everything to my new bank. They're small time and they're not the same credit union they used to be. They're corrupt and border on usery.
