HIGHLY recommend this urgent care for your pets. I came in with my pup to check for an ear infection. Great experience for following reasons:- they have online checkin process that lets you know the estimated wait time and when to come in- facilities are new and super welcoming… They even had coffee and snack stations for the humans!- Staff was super friendly. Dr Matthews and Emmy did a fantastic job. They were super educational and gave me a lot of options about treatment plans.- They were upfront about all costs, so no surprises financially

This VCA Urgent care in North Austin, Burnet Rd., is where professionalism, caring, competence, and kindness rule. My older thyroid cat, Stormy, had an emergency situation that they stabilized, and later sent me home with corrective care that has worked well and is happily extending his life. Recommend it. All the staff members work as a team and are willing to help you even long after the care has been provided.

My older, thyroid issue cat had a major event that left him in bad shape. The staff at the Burnet Rd Emergency VCA Hospital got him stabilized, and back home fast with a treatment plan that works. Everyone was competent, kind, and professional. Even after it all, they checked on my cat to make sure all was well. Highly recommend this place! Wish they could be my regular vet.

Wonderful staff and beautiful location. So appreciative of what great care we received- on Christmas! Had an idiot cat eat a ribbon and needed it checked out. Everyone on staff was incredible and so kind. Chelsea got us started and doted on our cat, the doc Scibilia was kind and explained all our options. The pricing was clear and we were given opportunities to opt out if needed. I never felt pressured, which is nice when dealing with a scary emergency. To top it all off, Cain was on shift and delivered us an incredible portrait of our cat. Our Cat was so well cared for that he even was asking the vet techs for more pets. Thanks everyone so much.

This team truly cares about animals. Their bedside manner is incredible. My dog is scared of vets. But they we great about keeping her as relaxed and comfortable as she could be. They also have maintained contact during treatment which has been an incredible touch. Can’t recommend them enough.

Dr. Scibilia did a thorough examination and devoted a lot of time to our dog's care when we took him in without an appointment, after he had an unexpected seizure. As we waited nervously for the lab results, Cain, the vet tech, hand-sketched a drawing of our four-legged family member and gave it to us, which was a kind and reassuring gesture that the medical staff were focused on his care. Once the lab work was complete, Dr. Scibilia patiently and thoroughly explained all of her findings, gave us a prescription, and recommended a neurologist who could provide a long-term treatment plan.

I ended up having to take my dog in suddenly for an eye infection the day after a holiday. I figured I could go to our typical vet, but learned no one in town would be open for 4 days and his symptoms were worsening. I reached out online for an appointment not even knowing if they were open. the vet called me within minutes snd said they could squeeze us in last minute. we rushed over and were greeted so warmly even though it was their end of day. everyone in the office just loved on my dog so much and made me feel like they were genuinely happy to help. we got meds there and his eye improved within hours. would 100% recommend when you need care urgently.

We took in our little pit mix to VCA and they were so accommodating and helpful. it can be soooo difficult to find a place to care for our animals in the same way we do and i’m very happy to say I feel that they do here. I highly recommend all of the wonderful staff and really appreciate the care we were given (:

Brought my 9-year-old Shiba Inu here the other night **immediately** after noticing blood in his urine during our evening walk. Because it was after hours, I looked for an urgent care, and this place came up. While the staff were super friendly from start to finish, and I felt they genuinely cared about my pup's health, I do want to caution pet parents to be mindful that VCA -- and other places like it -- are a total MONEY GRAB and often prey on your distress and love for your pet. I was urged by the doctor to run x-rays, in addition to a urine test, which were really expensive $$$$$$$. After the x-rays, the doctor came in, eyes widened with alarm, to tell me there was an apparent MASS on my dog's bladder. He said it was "concerning" because "male dogs don't often get UTIs." He then mentioned he didn't want to do another test with a catheter and risk poking in and "spreading cancer" through my dog's body. I was still trying to process how that could possibly be the case, when I figured he just had a UTI and needed antibiotics. Later, I complain to one of the staff that I didn't like the language the doctor used. It was confusing to use the word "cancer" if he wasn't certain that's what it was. He later came back and kept reiterating, "This isn't a diagnosis of cancer," and "I'm only here 2 days a month..." As it turns out, the urinalysis came back the next day and showed it was indeed a BACTERIAL INFECTION, and no signs of cancerous cells. I was beyond relieved, but also pretty upset after having such an exhausting 24 hours and spending over $2,000 for unnecessary tests that not only stressed me out, but completely stressed out my poor pup. And get this: the urinalysis, per the itemized invoice they sent me, would have cost just $118.35. Again, if I had been counseled by the doctor, "Hey, let's start with a urinalysis and see what that tells us, then we can do an x-ray if need be" that would have made me feel better AND saved me a hell of a lot of money. But these guys don't start with that - they start with the most DISTRESSING bit of info to suck you in so you end up paying way more than you need to. Advice to pet parents: during moments of high stress, really try to keep a level head and start with more routine exams before escalating things further. It might also be helpful to have a friend with you, which I didn't do, so someone can be more objective. It's just too easy to be taken advantage of during high-stress moments and these guys know that.

We had the best visit (despite stressful circumstances!) with VCA Urgent Care! The staff was amazing, especially Cain and Dr. Jenna Scibilia! Our kitty, Lil' Poundcake, likely has a UTI and she was very uncomfortable. We were able join the online waiting room, so we only had to wait about 2 minutes to get into an exam room, after arriving.Once we arrived, Cain took us until the exam room. He had all the info we'd provided online, and he was super sweet to our distressed kitty.Dr. Jenna came in, once Cain completed the intake. She was attentive, listened carefully, and she'd already reviewed our concerns. She came up with a good care plan that incorporated all the info we'd provided plus another vet visit. While Lil' Poundcake was being examined, Cain made the BEST drawing of our baby! He also made sure we had a clear estimate of the cost.In the end, our kitty got great care, we're feeling much less worried, and this was a fantastic visit. I wish healthcare for humans was this good!
