The staff at VCA Arbor Animal Hospital helped my and my wife ease the pain and suffering our beloved Macy was going through today. In all of my dealings with different veterinarians and facilities over the years, I've never met a staff as compassionate and caring as these are. Step by step, they were there, offering support, alternatives and detailed treatment plans. We found them by accident a few years ago when the doctor we had been seeing for 15 years suddenly turned office operations over to staff who didn't understand loyalty and emergencies. They turned us away expecting us to wait 4 weeks until they had an opening. VCA Arbor took us in immediately. They've always been there for us, more so this time. I highly recommend them, from their caring, professional approach to their end of life care for yout beloved pets. Our Macy didn't suffer and was raised onto the rainbow bridge with love. Thank Dr.s, I appreciate all of you!

We’ve been bringing our two cats to the Balcones Woods VCA for the past three years now. We’ve always had a fantastic experience at this clinic and the staff - the vets, the techs, and the front desk folks. Their love for animals is very evident and they are so gentle and loving with our cats. Want to give a special shoutout to Dr. Lucia - she is wonderful! She always takes time to examine our cats thoroughly and answer our questions. Would highly recommend this particular practice.

I moved down here 2 years ago and went thru 3 different animal hospitals until finding VCA Arbor. The staff is amazing, the facility is extremely clean, and the overall feel is very welcoming. I can't remember everyone's name so far but Shannon, Kelly, and Dr. Ortiz made the early experience wonderful. Strongly suggest

This is the best vet clinic ever. We had a great experience with them through the life and eventual passing of our last pup Mollie, and are happy to visit again with our new floofy boy Waffles. Everybody at the office, from the reception to the vet techs to the vets, are super kind, love the animals, and extremely accommodating to the humans :) I’ve gotten in last minute for appointments several times and am grateful for their flexibility and helpfulness! If you live in the area (or even if you don’t!) I highly, highly recommend.

Dr. Ortiz and her team I’ve been our Vet for over 15 years. Our dogs, Harley, Charlie, Grayson,, Bailey, Lucy are our children and Dr Ortiz and the team notice and give them the love and attention they deserve. Throughout the years, they have taken care of our children better than most people take care of their human children. Dr. Ortiz is extremely knowledgeable, very patient, compassionate, and understanding as we walk through every lifecycle of our children’s life. From helping us through the puppy stage with, dealing with cancer with Grayson, Bailey’s itchy problems at two years old, to Harley, and Charlie, and all their stages of their senior life hood. She has been there at every turn, and I cannot say how much I respect and appreciate everything she has done for entire family. They make us feel like part of the family, and everyone on the team is compassionate and helps take care of them to the fullest of their capabilities. I would strongly encourage anybody has any fur babies to see them. I did not have enough adjectives to explain how amazing the entire team at VCA Arbor animal is I drive 35+ minutes to see them just to make sure our fur babies get the best absolute care.Thank you so very much for always being there we really appreciate all that you do!

My 6-month-old kitten needs to be neutered so this required a wellness exam as it was also the first time that they had seen us. They were the best clinic I had spoken to BY FAR. Simply put, they actually answered my questions without an attitude, unlike at other vet clinics. The exams alone are $91 which is pretty pricey compared to the at-home service from The Vets Austin (also great vets without leaving your home). I was given an estimate for the neuter for about $345 so let's see how true this is once we do go through the surgery. The reception staff and techs were really nice and sweet, although the tech seemed a bit nervous when approaching my kitten.I have seen Dr. Wood and Dr. Curran and both were great thus far! They both answered my questions and Dr. Curran reassured me about the process for the neuter. The one thing that I did notice on both visits is that the wait time was pretty long, more than 30 minutes to actually see the vet so if you are taking time off work, I would suggest taking up to 1 hour extra off work to accommodate any delays. We were fortunate that we were in the exam room for the majority of the wait period so my kitten was able to stay calm and not be around other animals but this is something that could be an issue for other fur babies.

Really hate this place. We had been going to ZippiVet prior to the pandemic due to the weekend availability. When ZippiVet changed their hours and eliminated weekend scheduling, my wife and I took the time to check out other vets in the limited amount of time we both had. It seemed like a good fit and we were ecstatic to find a vet with weekend hours and great reviews.Fast forward two or so months, and one of our dogs has not had his standard flea treatment in almost a month due to constantly being denied, and he is also Very close to running out of his medically necessary medication he is prescribed for life due to a chronic internal injury. Our dog already had his blood work done by Balcones VCA animal hospital (I believe in June) and the files necessary should be available to prescribe the medication and flea treatment. What makes this so difficult? Besides trying to switch to VCA, nothing has ever changed with his medical care for the past four years.Out of desperation, we went back to ZippiVet to try to get his medication prescribed, but because the blood work and other tests were done at VCA, they needed the results sent so the prescriptions could be released. We notified VCA of this, and still NOTHING has been done, and ZippiVet still does not have the files necessary to process the prescription. What is going on here??? Can we not just switch vets due to availability/scheduling issues without upending everything we have worked for to streamline our sick dogs care? I would give zero stars if I could.

We would like to thank the excellent staff at VCA Arbor Animal Hospital for the care our Dachshund Gibbs received recently! Dr. Ortiz went above and beyond to determine the diagnosis for his unique illness, and the treatment plan has been excellent! Thanks also to the entire staff who always greeted us with a smile and made sure Gibbs was comfortable and unafraid!

Many thanks to hospital team which helped us in our emergency situation. They accepted us without appointment as it was urgent case. We did need to return to our home country on family emergency and VCA hospital helped us to give health certificate and make rabies vaccine. As a result we could return to my home country. Many thanks again! Best regards from Fransua cat.
