I would leave zero stars if I could. I brought my dog in on Thursday, September 29th for an anal abscess. Dr Whitney Pagel treated her and prescribed antibiotics and pain killer. While my dog was in the back, I asked to have her left anal gland expressed which I was told would be performed. My dog was released and was sent home.Tonight, Saturday, September 30th I find myself in the ER Vet while my dog is having her left anal gland lanced and drained. Never mind the $1600 I had to pay to have this treated. My dog has been placed under unnecessary stress and pain for something THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TREATED by Dr Pagel. This trams was completely avoidable had Dr Pagel done her due diligence. I will NEVER come back here again.

I called to see if they could fit me in and was told that they were full, so I made an appointment the next day. My senior dog was limping, so we were seen just to be told wait a week and see if it goes away. That evening a mass was found under his arm that I'm sure did not get there overnight due to the size of it. The provider did not do a thorough exam so it was missed. I paid $145 for Pretty much nothing. I attempted to walk in the next day and was turned away stating that they do take walk ins but they are booked up for the day. It was 0800 and I was the only person in the building so I couldn't understand how they were full but also take walk ins. I ended up have to drive 30min out of my way for my dog to be seen as an actual walk in. I live 3min from this Anderson Mill and will never return. It's obvious they don't have any sympathy.

We recently visited for a second exam to address our senior dog's intermittent cough, and we were extremely disappointed with the level of care and professionalism displayed by Dr. Stephanie Swanzy and the staff. Here are the specific issues we encountered during our visit:First and foremost, Dr. Swanzy was an hour late to our scheduled appointment. It was past their business hours at this point, so the entire exam felt rushed as though our concerns were not being heard. Moreover, Dr. Swanzy performed procedures we did not authorize. While discussing with the staff the best course of action given her prognosis and our dog's advanced age, we needed time to process and discuss alternative options and seek a second opinion. Instead, we were informed that unauthorized procedures were done, and were presented with an invoice for approximately $1,000, well above what we could afford. It seemed as though profit was prioritized at all costs. My heart goes out to the pet owners who get taken advantage of in stressful situations such as these, and feel obligated to pay for services without their written consent. In conclusion, our dog is in the same condition as she was before meeting Dr. Swanzy, which leads us to question what procedures were actually done. While she did drop the costs of the x-rays, the whole experience was traumatizing, and for that reason, we expect a full refund. We hope that these issues are addressed in haste, and improvements are made to ensure that future clients and their pets receive the quality care they deserve.

We are so incredibly fortunate to have this practice and each staff member as part of our dogs’ care team!!! Dr Pagel + Desiree are a team beyond compare! And when they are available? All of the staff are great and caring - we NEVER worry about the level of medical care, comfort and love our family pack receives. They are worth driving the 50 miles! If they did large animals, our full crew would be going here!

When faced with a a fur-baby's terrifying diagnosis , VCA Specialists is a hopeful place to find help. Dr. Weinstein was straight forward as well as caring. Best of all, when we met him for consultation on a Thursday and asked if surgery could be done on the following Monday, the answer was "Yes." The dread and worry of complications was cut by that quick action. I hated leaving my little one in hospital for the nights required; however, the night nurses were diligent about updating me and even sending photos. What a comfort that was!In spite of the fact that my mind anticipated the worst, our prognosis was actually the best possible. The large mass on my tiny Yorkie's liver was successfully removed, with no malignancy found. I am forever grateful to the expertise of Dr. Weinstein and the competence and compassion of the nurses at VCA Specialty Hospital.

Thankfully I was able to get Coco in same day. He hurt his leg and wouldn’t move. The doctor was so nice, so gentle and took her time with him. I really appreciated the personalized follow up text. This was a breath of fresh air since I’m always the one following up with our vet to get results. We had such great experience we’re coming back and making VCA our primary! :)

My dog needed surgery, and the staff were GREAT about keeping me informed. Shortly after the surgery, my dog developed an infection, and ALL the medial staff and the front staff were great with this issue. We had to go back and forth wvery other day for treatment, and with a holiday in the mix, they made sure i had everything i needed to care for my dog. Then, a few months later, we had to have another surgery for the same issue but a different area. And low and behold a second infection developed. Everyone was great at stepping up treatment to quickly treat the infection. They really care about your pet and the family.

I absolutely love the staff here!! I brought in my 6month old pup back in the summer and she needed to be spayed and have 2 teeth removed! They not only gave us the best care for my puppy Eloise but provided me with different payment plans and were very understanding about my financial situation. They made life very easy! My pup is now officially a year old and I can know that her teeth are amazing and she is healthy because of this vet hospitals care they are amazing!! I highly recommend!

doctor's Swanzy & Tripp are loving and very compassionate individuals caring for my girl. she is an extremely strong camping and hunting dog [hence the rabbit in her mouth!] and chasing a squirrel up the tree and difficult to handle when she has veterinary upkeep due to her strength. a plan of action has been devised to make our scheduled visits be a better experience for me but especially for the patient Mila. we have been at this location since I adopted her from a very traumatic situation in 2019. I could not be happier taking her to doctor's Swanzy and Tripp and consider us very lucky to have been able to find professional, caring, considerate veterinary care. so happy....

Had my Ayshia for the past 12 years until recently. VCA saw her in the past and when she passed they helped me with getting her cremated. They really care for animals while here and after. Thank y'all so much. Made me feel better through the process that I never dealt with before.
