The lifeguards can often be found not paying attention to the swimmers, and at least one teacher for the swimming lessons will let people drown before she gets in the pool to actually teach her students. There was a drowning incident here around a decade ago, but they either learned nothing from it or don't care enough to whip the lifeguards into doing their jobs.
You're safer heading to a public pool.

The indoor lap pool is my favorite place. It’s clean and refreshing with spot-on lifeguards who are friendly and attentive. The community that attends for swimming, exercise or therapy is supportive and friendly.
