“We have been at Big Bend NP six times so far and every time stayed at the village. The store and the super friendly staff made our life very easy. I have hard time to figure out how they can afford such prices knowing the distance from civilization. For example the diesel fuel was cheaper than both nearest town, the laundry was just $1.50, dryer for $2 and best of all, shower was $2 for 5 minutes. After a long hike and a hot shower, don't forget a bar of ice cream. The internet connection is not as fast as you would wish but again a free service .”

“Gatorade, lemonade, ice cream sandwiches, ruffles. Extremely friendly staff who let us use the hot water for our mountain meals, which took a little past closing time. They also gave us hiking recs!”
