Wes Cooksey Park is a beautiful, clean, and relaxing hidden gem in Texas. It is an awesome spot for the whole family, with a great place to canoe, tube, and swim. The different water levels and a large underwater cement slab are excellent for family fun. The park features majestic old trees, clean restrooms and showers, and fire pits. A drawback is trash left by some visitors. RV campers can bring dogs, but day campers cannot. There is a lack of cell service, which allows for disconnecting, though service is available a short drive away in Camp Wood. It is a highly recommended place to visit.

We had a great time at this park. They have a well manicured riverfront lawn which is perfect for tossing the football or just having a picnic. We were able to get the boat on the water and enjoy the entire lake. It is beautiful.

Very pretty scene, well kept n nice environment. No internet so perfect for R&R.

Stayed here awhile back. A fantastic spot with great water access. We will be coming back.
