e Hopper booking app and prepaid. I was sent a confirmation from both Hopper and Hertz and neither one mentioned that you have to have the same card that you booked the car with in order to pick up the car. I arrived at the Corpus Christi airport today to pick up my car and was informed that the only way to pick up my car was if I had the card I used to reserve it. The associate then acted like she figured it out and said it swipe my other card (even though my card was prepaid) and it declined it (which had to have been because of their “same card “ rule) and she then informed me that their policy is that once a card declines once it cant be run again. Dumb policy in general but most importantly I feel that their confirmation email should specify that you have to bring the card used to book the car if that is their policy. Both confirmations just said I needed A CARD, not specifically that card. So here I am, out $200 and still don’t have a car. Never renting with hertz again and definitely don’t recommend this location as this girl acted like there was absolutely nothing she could do. Didn’t offer any sort of solution.

I set up a rental for a Dodge 2500 truck 2 weeks in advance. I needed to move 2 beds and multiple coolers.
When I arrived to get the truck, they said no trucks are available. They wanted to give me a compact car for same price???
I waited an hour snd all they could give me was a tiny jeep compass. I did not have any other means of travel so i had to take it.
I had to also go rent a uhaul pickup truck to move beds. So I had to go return truck. Because of that, i had to extend my rental of the jeep by one day. I was charged an additional $120.
This was a nightmare. I have zero trust in renting from hertz again. And I rent vehicles quite often.

SCAM: Careful if you leave a bad review! After i left bad review, they sent me an email saying I damaged the vehicle lol!
There was absolutely no damage from me! It had a ding in the windshield is what they are saying I did.
They do not walk over vehicle with you before leaving like other rental companies do.
They replied to my email and said contact them. I tried, nope they didn’t help. Just made it worse by falsely accusing me of “damage “.

Staff at the counter were extremely rude. Our flight was delayed (as if that never happens at an airport) and the ladies at the counter acted as if they were put out by our actual arrival time which was only 1 1/2 hours late.

I typically rent from Avis, but decided to give Hertz a try this time since it was slightly cheaper. Big mistake. I had a reservation for a compact SUV, but when I arrived at the Hertz counter at Corpus Christi Airport, there were no vehicles ready. Despite having booked in advance, I was told I’d have to wait with no clear timeline. So much for a reservation.
To make matters worse, the woman at the front counter was rude and dismissive. She questioned whether I was a local — apparently implying I wasn’t entitled to a rental — even after I explained I’m stationed in Corpus Christi with the U.S. Coast Guard. Her tone was unprofessional and condescending, completely unacceptable for someone in a customer-facing role.
When I asked about options to actually leave the airport, I was told my only choice was to upgrade to a Jeep Compass and pay more money. First off, that hardly qualifies as an “upgrade” from a compact SUV. Second, given that the lack of available vehicles was their fault, a free upgrade would’ve been the bare minimum for decent customer service.
The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing from start to finish. As a government employee who travels often, I can confidently say I will never use Hertz again — and I’ll be advising colleagues to avoid them as well.

I would never rent a car from Hertz again. They are more expensive that other places and they engage in fraudulent business practices. I returned my vehicle with a full tank of gas but was unable to provide a receipt as it was late at night when I filled up the car, the gas station pump did not produce one and there was no-one inside the office to print me a copy. When I returned the car at 7:30 am the next morning there were not any employees at the Hertz counter -they don't start work until 9:00. An employee checked the mileage on the car after I returned it as this was indicated on my final receipt. That employee would have clearly seen that the car had a full tank of gas. When I checked out the car the Hertz employee made it a point to tell me to take photos of the car both before I took it and upon my return. He also made a point to ask me if I intended to fill up the car before bringing it back- when I said yes he said nothing about needing to submit a fuel receipt. Despite returning the car with a topped off, full tank of gas, Hertz charged me an additional $67.00 as a fuel charge on my final receipt. When I called the location that I rented the car from the phone just rang with no-one there to answer the call. I've tried again multiple times and the phone just rings.There is also no way to contact anyone at customer service through the Hertz website; it simply directs you to an automated bot system. This is unconscionable, is fraudulent billing and it is disgusting that a company would conduct business in this manner. Beware to anyone out there looking to rent a car from Hertz.

Had a flight delay and tried calling for 2 hours to let them know. The phone kept ringing and ringing and I wasn’t able to get ahold of anyone. I arrived and the counter was closed. All other rental counters were still staffed. I won’t use Hertz again

The young lady who was helping me was wonderful. The suv was booked on my husband's card and when I went to check the car out, I couldn't because I used his card instead of mine. It turned out to be a horrible experience. Eventually, over an hour, I was able to get a vehicle, just not the one ordered. I was told the one I ordered wasn't available but I was getting a better one. The agent said this vehicle I'm giving you is so much better. No, it wasn't. I'm tall, just had a total hip replacement and 2 years of problems afterwards. I needed the SUV, but got a vehicle very low to the ground. Upon returning the vehicle, that was really easy.

I booked thru Expedia. I was charged by both Expedia and Hertz, substantially more than what I was told at reservation.

We were NOT told that there would be a charge to add my husband as the driver of the car. He was the only driver and when I rented the car I could not find a place to put who would be the driver. There was NO phone number to contact the dealer but just a message that we could make changes on site. Not happy

Horrible experience.Staff doesn’t know how to talk.If someone doesn’t want to work why are they even working.Never had such a bad experience at Hertz.Dont recommend this location.Other car rental at corpus airport location was so humble and polite.Please don’t book hertz at corpus location.

This is literally the worse car rental. They will not rent you a car without a credit card.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t use a credit card or whatsoever.
You can’t even get hold of someone on the phone about confirming details

Be cautious with this location - I got a car for 3 hours, filled my car, and returned it on time. Spent almost $3 on gas to fill up the car for the 21 miles of usage. Once I arrived home, I received the bill with a fuel charge of $18, even though I informed the front counter of my miles and fill up. Very unethical.
