**Renter Beware -CROOKS** Booked a vehicle from then on February 20,2024 for my trip from March 10th-20th. We when arrived at airport rental counter I showed them my drivers license and the credit card used to book the vehicle. I already paid for the rental back on February and they took my money.When I got to the counter the gentleman said that since the name on my license and credit card didn’t match, I was out of luck. He cancelled my reservation for a SUV where I paid $636.50 for the 10day trip and insurance included.He proceeded to tell me that I could rent (a full size car) but my new amount would now be $957 plus change with no insurance included. But I could get insurance for an additional $35 a day. I declined and when I went to pay, he said since I am using a debit card, they are going g to charge another $500..When I contacted Hertz, the lady told me that hertz”s policy is that they won’t accept reservations if the drivers license and the card on file doesn’t match. But when I submitted my reservations they sent me a confirmation and email that it had been approved.Secondly, after she told me the policy, she then said, it’s up to the discretion of the staff at the counter to accept or deny a reservation if the names don’t match. But the sentence earlier, she said it’s hertz’s policy to not accept it if the names aren’t the same.WHICH ONE IS IT?So I went from paying $636.50 with insurance, to paying $957 and some change without insurance and another $500 hold on my card.I obviously needed the car to continue my vacation, so they milked me more another $320 plus a $500 deposit..CROOKS!!

Updated:***Take note of the continued canned response of forwarding on to the location manager with no action or attempt to improve service and address complaints.***I am a regular Hertz renter with President Gold status and I am extremely disappointed with the inability to communicate with this location in advance of an upcoming vacation. I have tried to call 10 times over the past week at different times of the day. I have yet to have my call answered. The service is so bad they had turned on their closed response 30 min prior to the location closing according to their published hours.I am cancelling my reservation due to the lack of communication and review from other renters. This is extremely disappointing service from the Hertz brand.

I made a reservation and I tried calling a few hours prior and I must have called about 20 times up until my appointment time. Ofcourse no answer at all so why would I waste my time and continue and show up with the reservation. No email or phone call or anything back from them , THEY SUCK AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN AND SOLD OFF. WASTE OF TIME

The absolute worst in customer service. I am presidents circle and I will rent a donkey before I go back to the lousy sucking place. Why does Hertz allow these people to use their name. Besides bad service their way of writing contracts was outdated in 1975. Everyone must stand in line while a rude lady half asleep hand writes each contract. Pitiful

!! Not good to use here in Corpus area with an insurance claim because they have more than one location but it seems just the one on SPID only assist with insurance claims (they don't even have a sign so you can find them, you will pass them and have to use the turn around) they only offer 2 car types an SUV make varies and a Chevy Malibu I guess they may only have one Malibu cause it's never available, not any choices and customer service well they are still learning it seems but...Thumbs Down both of them !!!

If I could give it a zero, I would. I made the reservation 3 months in advanced. When I should up, I was asked if I had a reservation, I said yes and was told I was too late and their are no cars. I should up two hours later than the time, not knowing there was a certain grace period. Unfortunately, I was not aware that the grade period is 2 hours, I was told its 30 minuutes. I WAS LIED TO. Now I have no rental car. Horrible service.

I'd give no stars at all if I could but since it not possible my one star means minus five stars. I made a reservation 24 hrs prior to rent a car from Hertz at Corpus Christi Airport to drop it off at one of their locations in San Antonio, which is very common, a lot of people do it, right? Wrong, they only a few cars for this purpose ("one way"). So, they gave me the smallest car they had but not only that, it smelled like someone smoke weed in it, seriously? This is unbelievable, aren't they supposed to check the units before renting them again? I guess not! Long story short, I went back to the counter without even moving the car from the parking spot and asked the lady very kindly and politely if they had another car because I was not in the mood to be driving to work with such a stench. She told me that it was the only car they had to be used "one way only" and either I wanted to use it like that or wanted to wait 20 minutes to put a "smoke bomb" to improve the smell. I replied that I was in a time crunch as I needed to get to San Antonio for work as soon as possible and did not have time to wait so asked again if there was any other car that I could use. The answer was no, either use it as it is or wait until they have time to put the famous "smoke bomb" the lady repeated. I was furious but I had to leave because the rain was getting worse and I needed to hit Interstate 37 to San Antonio. To my surprise, when I tried to clean the winshield due to heavy rain, the wipers were useless but just thinking how helpless the staff at this location is, I just drove off like that in the middle of a storm without road worthy wipers. I took pictures as proof of this but also because I might share them along this statement with my lawyer. Thank God I made it in one piece but this has been the worst experience I have ever had and I rent cars very often due to traveling a lot but I never ever will rent a car from Hertz ever again. If you need to rent a car think it twice before renting from Hertz and if you do like I did because I did not have a choice, check the car you are assigned before heading out, don't drive their cars if they are not safe like the one they rented to me.

I was a bit worried due to the low reviews of this place but I found their service was excellent. I showed up before they opened and they served me anyways. The employees were friendly and helped me adjust my reservation to best suite my needs.

Their seems to be a trend at this location with customer service. Time to hire some new staff who actually know about serving customers. Never had a bad experience with Hertz until now. Multiple times “your car isn’t ready please come back in a few hours” and twice now either had a flat tire or air deflating out of one tire. Like others have said, unable to change credit cards, which is a fault of Hertz primary not the folks behind the counter. They eventually get the job done and get me into a car, but overall a below average rental car experience.

I rented a car from Houston Hobby Airport to the Corpus Christi Airport due to airline cancellations. I was given a Chevy Bolt electric vehicle that needed charging half way home in order to make trip. Finding a charging station half way between HOU and CRP is no easy task. I mentioned this to the manager In CRP she was very condescending to me saying that she drives it all the time with no problems. She mentioned several outside of Houston. I had no idea I would need to stop and charge as my journey began. Even the Hertz roadside assistance team had trouble finding a place for me to charge outside the Houston area. And to charge the Bolt in order to make it all the way (mind you a three hour drive ) it takes around 4 hours for charging then you better drive 55 MPH with no AC if you don't want to stop again.Upon rental return I handed the keys to the counter personnel in front of the manager yet three days later I get a call saying the car was never returned and they have been charging my credit card daily. Very disappointing experience - much of my own fault for not being aware electric cars do not have the distance noted on dash and poor customer experience with CRP station employees.

Horrible. If I could give a negative star I would. They say the rentals are Unlimited Mileage, but this is untrue. I brought the car back in great condition, even washed and vacuumed the car out before bringing it back in, on time. They still kept my Five Hundred Dollar deposit stating I went over millage. When I showed them the receipts and paperwork showing them where it said Unlimited Millage they started blocking mine and my mothers calls. Went into the shop to have this straighten out and they kept insisting that I would have to wait until a manager was working to find a solution to the situation, yet every time I went, the manager was not there, and they were "too busy" to set up an appointment. I asked them to get in touch with me when availability opened up. I've been waiting for a year now.

If could leave a negative star review I would! The guy at the front desk was not very helpful. I had reserved and payed EVERYTHING online, when I arrive they demand I change my card on file from debit to credit. Made me call a 1-800 number to do so. After that, they demanded I pay extra fees that magically appeared. Ok, no problem. I go to pay, their machine declines my credit card. Call my credit card company and they ensure me it was not my fault and it was the front desk issues. Probably their machine. They refused to run my card again, stating that they can not run a card if declined within 24 hours. Stating I have to call the 1-800 number again to get my money back. At this point I was stranded and still am while I write this review. I can't remember his name but he was a Hispanic man with a beard. He was not helpful at all and the policies that he couldn't show me have ruined my day. I wouldnt be leaving this review if It didn't happen to the man that was behind me in line. The exact same "issues" had happened to him. Will never rent from Hertz again after this mess today.

Went thru priceline pay for the reservation for a rental car, to make sure we also called hertz airport to make sure everything is fine two weeks before going here in person both party's said bring in ID and a credit card and I would be all set. But once I got there the receptionist àt the front desk was condescending not apologetic said everything must be on one card can't be two card on the account go and call priceline to hopefully get a refund back told him they try to call your office he stated they don't have a office phone. I said will check the email so i can get my money faster he stats only corporate has the means to handle that. So no car for my vacation and I won't see my money back for 2 weeks or more.

Hertz on Weber and SPID, doesn't pull up for this review, but Steven and his team always come in Clutch when I need a vehicle whether it be for personal or when my company is getting a rental car for deliveries. definitely recommend seeing this team in order to get your rental car.
