Very welcoming space - I immediately felt at home and comfortable. Marcos was the teacher and he held the space very well, with a challenging flow and enough time for a great sivasana at the end ☺️Thanks for an excellent experience!

I would give zero stars if I could. This was my first and last time. On class pass they say the amenities included are mats but they don’t tell you that you have to rent them which is fine. I go to rent the mat and they don’t take Apple Pay you need a physical card. It’s late and I live very close I had no idea I need my whole wallet to go to relaxation yoga. They are probably the only business in the city that are not up to date with Apple Pay how archaic it’s 2024 get with the times. The staff did not offer to waive the fee considering I had no problem paying it, it was just a matter of THEM not being able to take my payment. I was given blankets that are thin and won’t help me from being on the hard floor. I was so excited to attend this class and ended up leaving before it even started because of their customer service. Go to Jungle instead if you are looking for yoga in the area. Terrible.

I really enjoyed the beginner flow class with Alex J.It was my very first time experiencing yoga and Alex made it a great experience from the time I stepped foot into the door.He was very welcoming , explained everything in a way I could understand, and the class flowed at a maintainable pace. He’s a great instructor and I will definitely say this is a great class to attend. If you are pondering, do it !

First time at this location and it was so nice. I have taken a couple black swan classes and my instructor today, Telley, was the best I’ve had at black swan. Will be returning just for her.

Kim Rojas was the best instructor I’ve had in my 10 years of yoga. 11/10 what a fulfilling experience

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Me and my 2 sisters drove 45 minutes, it was raining horribly and we got there 8 minutes late and were turned around. We knocked on the door and the instructor opened the door and rudely closed the door back in my face once I let him know we were there for the class. Mind you we paid 30$ between all of us the class was until 10pm and he shut the door in our face with ZERO explanation. Absolutely ridiculous. I don’t do much for myself and was super excited to try this for a change. I left confused, upset, and money out of my pocket for absolutely no reason. It specifically says on the website if a bit late, you are still able to come in quietly. Don’t recommend this place at all.

Black Swan is great! I’ve trained there for over a year and a half and can’t imagine practicing Yoga anywhere else. From the inviting studio space, to the wide array of classes scheduled throughout the day, Black Swan makes practicing Yoga enjoyable and convenient. But the best part of Black Swan are the teachers. Alyssa, in particular, is superb. Highly technical with detailed and descriptive cues, following her through poses and postures feels simple and effortless. In addition to her clear and precise instruction, she also offers insights into the purpose of poses (why’s and not just how’s) and alternative variations for those who, like myself, lack the flexibility and strength to achieve a poses’ fullest expression. Alyssa’s flows are smooth and fluid with graceful transitions which seem to hit all my troubled muscle groups - a quality greatly appreciated by someone who suffers from chronic back and shoulder pain. Off the mats, Alyssa is warm and welcoming and a pleasure to be around. Give one of her classes a try. Her Sunday night slow flow is my favorite. You won’t be disappointed.

Nice yoga studio. Instructor very welcoming on this, my first visit. Class was well paced and the heat felt good. Only downside—the yoga studio and the larger complex it is in seems to lack a bike rack. This is weird oversight for an entity devoted to healthy bodies and minds located in a bike-friendly neighborhood.

Had a restorative yoga class taught by Maggie, and it was amazing. Very chill and calming. Will be going back for more of the slower classes for sure.

So yes I have a bit of a confession. Or rather, an obsession. Black Swan, you are my new favorite! The yoga studio, that is. Adore the Bishop Arts location. Note there is no main lobby at this one...you walk in and boom it is the studio yoga floor. I personally am all about it. Not only is it donation based but they have an abundance of classes ALL DAY into the NIGHT. Like 10pm at night! As most of you know I am an eternal old lady / morning person but on my bucket list I have written down to make it to a 10pm candlelight flow. The classes are all heated which is great to detox from the long day. Whether you come on the weekend or after work during the work week they will have something for you. They also have sunrise yoga sessions which I have yet to try. Recommended donation is $15-20 a class which I will say you more than get your money's worth. This community is like no other and whether you are a beginner or experienced yogi they will make you feel welcomed. You will leave blissed out and just happy you took the time to do something awesome for yourself. I cannot WAIT to book my next class! Check them out on social as well, they have a detailed schedule on their website where you can sign up in advance.

BSY is truly like a second home. So many friendly teachers and students it is easy to make new connections. I definitely recommend checking out Black Swan Yoga at either location, but if you’re going to Bishop they have a smaller studio, which feels more cozy and intimate. This studio has a sparkling black ceiling that I love and is so close to many great breakfast, lunch, coffee, ice cream, and shopping places. If you don’t have a mat or blocks, don’t worry they have everything you need here. Just bring yourself and enjoy!

Great yoga studio, super nice community! Pay as you can per class (donation based) or great rates for monthly or annual memberships. Definitely recommend classes with Alicia, Emily C., James and Marco! Mostly easy to park.

I absolutely LOVE Black Swan Yoga. I primarily go to the Bishop location which has a slightly calmer energy than the Lovers location. (Both both are great, but it's just a preference). Though each teacher has a different teaching style they are all rooted in the same principles and it shows!
